Came across this little quiet storefront--the establishment is a market, dessert cart and restaurant. The market is vibrant with various packaged food items. Though small it packs a lot! The restaurant is located in the back left corner of the store and has about seven tables inside. There is one table outside if you want to order to-go and sit outside (careful of the dust from the parking lot). The number of flies inside was very annoying, a fly trap or fly tape would be highly beneficial. If you're pescatarian/vegetarian/vegan, yes, they have options for you, however, if you order anything that takes space on the grill--you will have particles of meat and/or meat flavoring in your dish. They don't serve alcohol and if you want a drink, they won't ask you, you're to grab it from the fridge before sitting down/ordering. Monday through Thursday orders at taken at the window. Friday through Sunday orders are taken seated at the tables. Before 5PM you can seat yourself but afterwards, they tend to get busy and you'll need to wait to be seated. read more

It is a desert of taquerias with only the occasional mirage and false hope of Mexican food only to be served something my Irish family could do better... For 2 years I wandered aimlessly trying anything that served what could be "considered" Mexican food. All hope was lost until by Gods grace I stumbled upon this "diamond in the rough". La Sierra is a hidden gem in downtown Selbyville. This was our 2nd time here and we ordered a bunch of food to go - different tacos (asada, pollo, pastor), pollo empanadas, queso pupusas - and all of it was excellent. The standout was the empanadas, perfectly fried so it had just a small crisp on the outside but chewy inside with well seasoned chicken. Best empanadas I've ever had. I think it was $11 for 4 with rice and salad which felt like a great deal. My only complaint is there's really no room to stand and wait for your food, probably will call in the order next time. read more

This place gives 'hole in the wall' a good name. Authentic Mexico, I mean really...a food store, barber shop and restaurant. I was shocked that such good food can be found off of the highway in Selbyville, DE. But Wow...the food is really authentic. Fantastic tacos, empanadas and burritos - this food rocks! Two sauces at the table, both good, green is hot. I like that you can choose individual tacos, tostadas, pupusas, add rice and beans too, combination platters, or some of their specials. Everything I chose was really good. Staff are busy but friendly and helpful in choosing menu items. This restaurant is in a Latin Grocery and the Grocery store has lots of great can Goya, sauces, mixes, veggies, and spices. Do not let the look of this place deter you. This little gem in Selbyville has the best Mexican food in southern Delaware. Recommended by friends we knew in advance that we would be walking through a grocery store to get to the dining room. We ordered fajitas and a chicken burrito with a side of guacamole.
