It could be the best Mexican food I've ever eaten very authentic. The fried plantains were like dessert we got those for an appetiser the empanadas were a 10 out of 10

Great tacos and Mexican coke Has a grocery store and butchers Good selection of snacks too

Fajita (steak, chicken & jumbo shrimp)

The food was amazing! The hostess was very accommodating and attentive, though it was very busy!

Came across this little quiet storefront--the establishment is a market, dessert cart and restaurant. The market is vibrant with various packaged food items. Though small it packs a lot! The restaurant is located in the back left corner of the store and has about seven tables inside. There is one table outside if you want to order to-go and sit outside (careful of the dust from the parking lot). The number of flies inside was very annoying, a fly trap or fly tape would be highly beneficial. If you're pescatarian/vegetarian/vegan, yes, they have options for you, however, if you order anything that takes space on the grill--you will have particles of meat and/or meat flavoring in your dish. They don't serve alcohol and if you want a drink, they won't ask you, you're to grab it from the fridge before sitting down/ordering. Monday through Thursday orders at taken at the window. Friday through Sunday orders are taken seated at the tables. Before 5PM you can seat yourself but afterwards, they tend to get busy and you'll need to wait to be seated.

Enchilada (Tuesday-only dinner special), beans and rice, the best barbacoa burrito you'll find anywhere, crispy chicken empinadas

Best food in southern delaware period I managed a restaurant for some time and I know how easy it is for a good place to put out a bad meal once in a while if everything isn't dialed in. That being said I have NEVER had a bad meal at La Sierra. Everything is always through the roof. Super friendly service and the best food anywhere for miles.

Amazing food, server was friendly, and very very reasonably priced. Hard to find a place that has all three of these qualities anymore. Generous portions. You will not leave hungry. Will visit again for sure.

Now, food.... Didn't take a picture but the calamari was by far some of the best I've ever had (and I'm usually not a tentacle girl). I got the brunch taco flight off specials menu so I could try multiple variations. My daughter got the shrimp tacos and while they were good, the spicy sauce took over. Tropical crush was also on the specials menu and tasty. Would definitely come back! I want to try the jalapeno popper empanadas.

The vibes here are immaculate - this is what you imagine when you think coastal taqueria. From the wooden building to the bizarre layout, this is it. You can't go wrong with that! The hot sauces are homemade, the salsa tasted fresh, everything from a condiment perspective was good. Now again was it authentic, no, but come on... If you have to order two things I would get the corn appetizer - it is honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten in delaware, and then the surf and turf burrito because it is epic! Everything I tried was good. The drink situation could use some help...the margarita was fine, but i really wanted neat mezcal and that was incomprehsible to them to the point that I ended up with a mezcal margarita that had anejo mezcal in it...sad We'll be back!

I was promptly greeted and seated even though it seemed quite busy. My server arrived quickly and took my drink order, and brought chips and salsa. The chips were hot and well salted and the salsa was good. I opted for the Birria Tacos listed as one of their premium tacos. The food came out quickly given how busy the place was. I think they were slightly overcooked. The tortillas seemed freshly made, and the au jus was delicious. The beef itself was okay, and there was less cheese than I expected. It was still a good dinner. As far as the restaurant itself, I was seated in the bar area, and overhead were old dished light/fan fixtures that looked pretty dirty. They might was to remove those as they just collect dust which eventually falls/drifts down. The air vents weren't looking very good either. These really kind of affect his the place could be perceived. I'll still leave 4 stars although I almost dropped to 3. There aren't half stars to give. A little attention to the facility might leave a better impression.

Because of that, we respectfully asked about getting a refund. The staff told us only a manager could approve refunds, but the manager wasn't there at the time. Since this is a family-owned restaurant it left us feeling stuck and unheard as customers. I understand policies exist, but spending that much money and leaving without being able to eat the food or get help addressing the issue was very frustrating.
