To find authentic Mexican food all the way out here in Salisbury was a feat in itself. El Primo Taquireas looks and feels the part. There's a lot to like here: courteous and attentive staff, A spacious dining room with the Mexican colors splashed across the wall, and that menu! Tacos, gorditas, burritos, sopas, tortas, and even agua frescas. This is as authentic as a menu gets. And the price point? Incredibly affordable, which is a big deal in today's inflationary world. Unfortunately this is where the happy story is cut short. I ordered two of the more popular items on the menu, carne asada and Al pastor tacos. Also added a side of rice and beans. The flavors simply fell short. It honestly felt like not a single thing presented to me was seasoned. The steak featured in the carne asada, which I was most looking forward to, was quite chewy. Even the complimentary chips and dip were underwhelming. I've had some amazing Mexican food, especially of late. El Primo Taquireas is a decent choice for price and lack of Mexican options in the area, but a forgettable experience overall. Really a 2.5 but rounding up for benefit of the doubt. read more

Such a good date! The birria tacos were to die for. My bf got 4 other different tacos and loved them but was jealous of my birra tacos after he took a bite! They have a sauce and sides bar at the front of the restaurant so you can customize each taco!! Sauces were amazing too! Highly recommend!!! read more

Clean up the place better and make sure the blinds, walls are cleaned before opening the restaurant again. Authentic carne asada street tacos with mandarin fruit flavored Jarritos soda. Truly the tacos are the star of the show that will keep me coming back. The real deal. You get two warm fresh tortillas layered on top of one another with sliced beef, diced white onion, chopped cilantro, pineapple, and lime. I add green salsa to my open taco. Reminds me of the tacos in San Diego. The meat is so tender and flavored so well. The best tacos in Salisbury. They also offer Ojo, cachete, and sesos tacos (cow's eye, cheek, and brain). Prices are reasonable and it was a great spot to indulge in some birria Tacos. This was my first experience eating a Birria Taco. The service is attentive. There is a salad bar near the cash register, where you can pick onions, cilantro, cut radishes, cucumbers and sauces to fill your Taco. It was a generous offer and comes free with Taco orders. We had chicken fajitas and fish tacos - everything was very very good. They also have a salsa bar where you can choose your heat - just know their 'hottest' is not very hot - if you want VERY hot, use one of the pepper sauces they have. I tried five different types of meats and must say the steak was my overall favorite, which is surprising as I thought the Al Pastor would be my favorite as it usually is! I live in San Diego, a city renowned for its authentic Mexican food. Happened upon this place while on a trip out East, and I will tell you the tacos are as good as anything I've ever had in California, Mexico or anywhere else. Also outstanding are the homemade salsas, guacamole, and pretty much everything else they make, I suspect. If I lived in DC, I honestly would consider driving down to this place for lunch. We came here at about 330 on Saturday. We were going to eat there, but there was no alcohol, so we opted for take out. Wife ordered Carne Asada, and I ordered a Taco and Burrito. The food was wonderful but if you don't speak Spanish, there is about half of the Menu you will want to google on your phone. When you order the Tacos the toppings are up front but my wife thinks that hot peppers were hidden in the chopped onions. I enjoyed the food more than she did because I can handle the heat. As we read the Menu the place filled up with Hispanics, and I was the only white guy in the place, my wife being Asian. I enjoyed the brief adventure, because this seems to be the most authentic Mexican Restaurant around. The atmosphere is very casual, while the smiling waitresses are pleasant and helpful. My order has been messed up a lot of times (not put in, part of the order missing) and I noticed that the food isn't always consistent with the sauces they provide, toppings, or even quality. We were excited to some tacos since we hadn't ate all day and it was the worst $55 I've spent. The tacos de Lengua were the worst. The meet was sour it felt expired. Then the carne asada tacos had no flavor what's so eager I tried adding hot sauce and lime and it still didn't taste well. We also had a fajita and the refreíd beans were sour.
