Went for brunch in the morning. Have to go back for dinner. Had good food and a good view of the beach area

They charge you for chips, and they were hard, seemed old or stake.Good portion size on the Chorizo quesadilla but salty! Zoca margarita was sour but the bar tender mentioned the Granadas as sweet! I should have listened to him! Not impressed for the price! read more

Great ambience and vibe. The staff was extremely nice. Overall the food was average (our table had nachos which were good). The margaritas were tasty. read more

Under the heading NO ONE DOES HIS JOB CORRECTLY, I ordered a quesadilla which was serviceable. It's supposed to come with picot de Gallo and I ordered extra pick ,sour cream, and guacamole. Not only did I not get the extras I paid for, I also didn't get the pick it was supposed to come with. (Yes I know. I ended a sentence with a preposition. I'm not in a good mood. Get over it). I'll try the carne asada next time. A piece of the beef was clinging to the side and it was delish. read more

Nice location, our server was AWESOME. Food only ok. The starter chips and 3 dips decent, chips dusted in a LOT of essentially flavorless powder. Not bad, not great. My carne asada tacos were unfortunately very bad. Taco meat was dry, no sour cream, no guacamole (even on the side for $16), covered In soggy tomatoes. There was so much tomato juice on the plate, that my taco shells were falling apart. You really need to sort that from a serving perspective. Chefs need to drain them before service. It's not tomato soup with tacos. Maybe on a bed of lettuce, or something. That's lazy cooking, and a chef that hasn't tried his food properly. read more

Amazing food and ambiance! The staff was super friendly. We felt welcomed and taken care of. Will def come visit again! -your friends from Buffalo read more

Great, friendly service, very good food, huge portions, a little pricey for Mexican but worth it.

We ate on the patio seating and everything was clean and well done from a Covid standpoint. Masks on everyone, clean bathroom, limited indoor dining. I had the street corn nachos- the whole table agreed they were some of the best we had ever eaten! Everyone else had tacos - all excellent! Really a good plate of food and careful preparation all around. read more

Decent place. The 3.5 star review that it gets is dead on. The food was good. Nothing unique about the menu just your normal spanish food. The service is very friendly and the place is clean. If you are staying in the area and want to just walk to dinner it will do. I wouldn't go out of my way to drive here. I probably won't be back read more

The food and service are unparalleled and absolutely outstanding. I can't say enough positive things about this establishment.

Overpriced and very underwhelming! Spent $21 on chicken fajitas and there was barely any chicken-just small pieces. Very disappointed, bad quality and extremely overpriced. The buritto was...ehhh. The mole enchilladas were ice cold, sickly sweet, and for $20, did not come with any rice or beans. The burritos were cold. Very disappointing. Tourist trap. read more

Way over priced for the quality of the food. Service very good, chips were stale not fresh at all.

Very stingy wine pours! I thought it was a "one off." Nope. It didn't get any better on the second visit. Sooo...not worth it for the price.

Disappointing, margaritas were weak-was like drinking a glass of lime juice Smelled wet and musty inside Will not return to even try food read more

Zoca is so good! Love the menu, fresh ingredients and great service. And the margaritas? Insane! So so good. Fair pricing and exceptional service. Loved the tequila dinner...the Director of Ops and the Executive Chef/ Owner are amazing. What a great addition to Bethany! read more

This restaurant is trying to be a beachy upscale Mexican restaurant but the truth is, it's a total miss. It's very overpriced and food is not great. Not very comfortable or accommodating, bathroom was SO gross and dirty. Some of the silverware was dirty and had food on it that was brought to our table. The service was ok, the food was bland and not good and definitely not worth their prices. My dinner I ordered was missing ingredients that the menu said was included in the meal. Staff was friendly but scattered and we had to ask multiple times for things we needed. Simple things like a straws and a spoon. We ordered the Salsa and Queso and it was not great. The queso was basically a big bowl of cold sour cream with a few dieted tomatoes, and some cilantro and a very FEW SMALL crumbles of cheese sprinkled on top in the middle of the bowl for $14. Menu said it was supposed to have jalapeños but it did not. It was $100 for my family of 5 to eat and I would have rather gone to a classic Mexican restaurant for $50 and at least our food would have had flavor. read more

Been here a few times now over the past few years and have never been disappointed. The food has always been excellent and margaritas are great. Appetizers and entrees are always delicious. This visit we had the paella and it was incredible. Highly recommend that you go here. Service was also excellent despite the restaurant being pretty full. Happy Customers here. read more

Ok. Read the previous reviews. Some menu items mentioned are not on the current menu so this is a work in progress. We went for happy hour and stayed for dinner. Happy hour drink prices are good. Great house margarita and decent Tempranillo. Salsa tastes like they grilled the veggies oon a cAmal, slightly smoky and a bit spicy, chips were crispy and tasty. I agree barstools are uncomfortable but bar tender was awesome so we did eat at the bar mole enchiladas were a big portion and very yummy. Burrito was large and al pasture was tasty but hubs thought too much rice and beans. I liked the rice and thought it was tasty. Took home a piece of tres leche. Not the best but ok. We'd go back and share an app and one of the priced entries. read more

Our waiter was very chatty and charming.... That was the only positive thing I can say. Trio (guacamole, salsa, queso) was ok guacamole tasted like they just smashed an avocado. No flavor. Dinner 1 - fajitas - dry chicken, soggy veggies and a big pile of lettuce. Not much flavor and corn tortillas where also soggy and cold. Dinner 2 - burrito bowl. Avocado was hard not ripe at all. Rice was dry, chicken had no flavor. We left most of this meal behind. Thought I would take fajitas home - the container didn't last a block it was too flimsy for the left overs and broken open and went in the trash. I can't tell you the last time I was compelled to write a bad review. Please don't waste you money! About a $100for a meal not including tip. read more

Avoid the is restaurant. Some of our groups meals came out after others were finished. We had an 8:30 reservation and they closed the bar at 8:45 so we could not even order drinks. Spend your money elsewhere. Very unwelcoming place to eat. read more

Zoca was fabulous! They used fresh ingredients and had a modern twist in some Mexican favorites! The margaritas were wonderful! And the wait staff were service oriented and informed about the items in the menu! I would definitely go back again and try something else, everyone's food looked wonderful! read more

The price of food is definitely not worth the quality that they serve nor the title "modern mexican". Bland food, skimpy meat servings and $16 chips and guacamole (Chips are not complimentary). This place advertises itself as an upscale restaurant but it is really just a bar. However, the environment is nice and our waitress was wonderful so cannot complain about that. read more

I had dinner with 3 other people Sunday night. Service was extremely slow. I assume they are still working on the kinks! Drinks from the bar took a long time or forgotten about. Ordered the Mole enchiladas and chicken was thigh or drumstick meat, like leather. Both of us that ordered it picked it out which left sauce and tortillas. Tortillas home made and delicious! Mole sauce very good! I tried the fajitas ordered and the chicken was also very chewy. Not a lot of seasoning either. Beans and rice were very fresh. For the money the quac app was way to small. Prices were a bit steep for portion and quality. No Salsa and chips.Would give a try again in the off season after they have had time to fine tune some things. read more

Fantastic. Do yourself a favor and stop in after the beach. Wonderful food. Between everyone we were with we had tacos, chimichanga, paella, street corn, nachos. Everyone loved their meals. If you're somewhat adventurous with your food get the Mexican Paella. It has whole soft shell crabs and large octopus tentacles in it along with some more typical seafood items. It was very good. read more

Ambiance was fresh and comfortable -- our server was a delight -- the food had a slightly different flair and was delicious!

Went for happy hour .. Ate outside Good food and drinks at Happy Hour. Service was good as well !! Will comeback

Pretty tasty. Mahi Mahi Tacos, chicken tacos and chips and salsa all were great. Only complaint would be it's a bit pricey.

This place is fantastic. Nachos are great, nice blend of cheese and varied toppings. Mahi mahi tacos are also really good. The Zoca margarita is reasonably priced and delicious. Outdoor seating is nice but somewhat limited if you have a larger party. We will definitely be back here in the future. read more

Food was incredible, the corn tortillas Tasted like they were homemade. The jalapeño jicama slaw with the flautas were amazing. Stop everything and get the Al Pastor Tostada. It's a cant miss moment when you go to Zoca's. We will be back. FYI, Claire was awesome as our waitress. read more

Went here yesterday. The place is clean and cute on the inside. I ordered the chicken burrito ($17) and my friend ordered the steak quesadilla ($20). The service was very slow, our food took around ~50 minutes to get to us. The server was nice and we got complimentary chips for the long wait. My burrito was ok, but they forgot the sour cream and I didn't find it very tasty. My friends quesadilla was decent, but it was 3 pieces of a quesadilla for $20 which I think is a rip off. I wouldn't come back here. read more

Decent but overpriced. Beautiful inside and an upgrade from the pizza joint that was there last year but that would have been easy. It's not sold as tapas but should be. Every portion was tiny. We were a large group and ordered a variety of things. Seemed authentic and the food was good but nothing was outstanding that would make me go again. Small portions Okay food Large price tag Maybe I'm being generous with 3 stars as it's only a months old but we will NOT be going again. read more

Loved the food! Very well cooked and fresh. The shrimp tacos, mahi mahi tacos and the nachos were all excellent. read more

Eh..... "we're not your typical Tex-Mex". True. Food wasn't terrible. However - small, single entree (sans sides - or: rice/beans, that cost nothing) portions must pack a flavorful punch. Had to ask for chips and salsa that were reluctantly brought and for a party of 9 enough for two people. Cute atmosphere - some lights were out - not turned on. Seems pretty new - will probably improve. read more

Stayed in Bethany Beach & was craving Mexican & found this place. Was looking forward to it but *so* much was wrong. Ordered the queso fundito street corn dip. It came out right away & it was fine, nothing special, but $12 good?? For my entree, I ordered the chicken mole enchiladas. I think my friend & I were about 3 chips into the queso when they brought the entree! And this is "upscale"? Three small "enchiladas (just chicken in a tortilla), a little bit of cheese & a smear of mole on the bottom of the plate. No...I like to taste the mole when I order a mole dish! Had to request a side of sauce so I can actually taste it. They brought it out in a dish....with no spoon. So I just pour it & make a mess?? I also asked for hot sauce, which was really good....and again, no spoon. Ugh. My gf ordered the street corn, which was cold (surprising, since it pretty much came out at the same time as the appetizer. Then, after she was finished eating, her empty cob sat on the table until We were almost finished eating. She ordered the mango margarita drink. Came in a small martini glass & was $14.00!! It was a lot of thick Mango purée. For the prices, this place needs to do better in both service & food quality. We won't be going back. read more

Zoca is a wonderful and welcome addition to the restaurant scene in Bethany. The food is delicious and truly a modern take on Mexican. The spices develop gradually and never overpower the food. The steak taco appetizer and the guacamole are out of this world. Must tries! The wait staff is attentive and friendly. The owner Danio is personally involved and when he is not chatting with guests, he helps his team in the kitchen. I love the food, the people and the atmosphere. Go check it out and help support it so we will have their tasty fare in the winter too!! read more

Where to begin. Great service, nice decor down to the plates. The nachos were so good, some of the best I've ever had Then the meal. Half the table got the mole enchiladas and they were amazing. Everyone was happy with their meal. It was upscale Mexican and it was delicious. They also brought out a hot sauce that wasmade in-house and everyone that tried it loved it. Can't wait to go back. Definitely check them out if you're in the area and tired of eating the same old. read more

Great place to break our restaurant fast of 3 months! Delicious fajitas and chillies nogado! Absolutely flavorful! And Kellie is a great server. Guacamole is very good as a starter. The Smokey Mezcal Mule is recommended. 5 stars! read more

I didn't think it was possible to have a meal in a Mexican restaurant worse than Papa Grande, but Zoca proved me wrong-big time... The interior is clean and nice (except for the silly and annoying pillows all over the bench seat) Our first indication that all was not well in the kitchen came with the announcement that there was no soup of the day. (apparently they had not even started one since they did not know what it would be) The second was that there are no complimentary chips and salsa. We have been to countless Mexican restaurants in various states across this country in our 60 plus year and this is a first. If you want chips and salsa be prepared to pay between $9 and $18. So, I opted for the Chicken Tortilla soup. It was not like any I've ever had before. It had lettuce on top. It was barely tepid and I (naively) assumed it must be intentional so as not to wilt the lettuce. The broth was flavorful and there was a good portion of nice chicken, so I ate the top and asked that the rest be boxed so that I could take it home and heat it up later. My husband got the empanada which was ok if you don't mind the taste of raisins. (I am not a fan but he was ok with it) The third indication that things were not well came when our waitress returned to inform me that they did not have the ribs I ordered. (was this kitchen even ready to be open ??) I made a quick decision to get the shrimp fajita instead. Our fourth clue came when my fajita came out minutes later with my husbands entree. I am at a loss for words how to describe this dish (I'd never call it a fajita) but suffice it to say that it was as bad as I've ever had. This was just horribly seasoned small shrimp with mushy onions and peppers which seemed like they were cooked yesterday. The tortillas tasted like raw dough. The next wonderful surprise came with the serving of the brussel sprouts which I had asked for "soft." I had even given the waitress my standard "spiel" about how I don't like the modern trend of undercooking these. Well, guess what...you got it...they came out as close to raw as you can get. Maybe they ran them under the heat lamp for a minute...Then the waitress argued with me when I showed her how I could not even get my fork through one. She said "oh, that's just a big one." No, my dear, they are all rock hard, have zero color and have never seen a steamer or frying pan in their little trip from the kitchen to my plate. My husband got the enchilada with mole sauce. (The worst tasting mole ever-and I LOVE mole...) Everything was cold: the beans, the rice, the sauce, the enchilada. Our waitress was obviously ticked off that we were not happy with the food. She called the manager over. Then the manager ticked ME off by saying "I wish I had known there was a problem." Really??? We just tasted this stuff 3 minutes ago and told the waitress 1 minute ago. Were we supposed to have teleported our thoughts back to you sooner? She did adjust the bill, which was appreciated, but the entire experience by this point was just full out hideous. I am so reluctant to slam restaurants in these days of Covid and staff shortages and almost always try to be as positive as possible without misleading my fellow Yelpers. But this experience was so bad that I can't in good conscience give it more than the lowest score Yelp allows. read more

Staff was helpful and friendly however our food was awful. A few things we ordered: Elote enchiladas- was basically shredded chicken rolled in a tortilla with sauce- no cheese, nothing else. A kids bean burrito which came with a side of rice and beans- the burrito was only the same side of rice and bean rolled into a tortilla, no cheese, nothing else. The rice was just white plain rice and the beans were red beans with tomatoes. Shrimp fajitas only came with a couple shrimp. Chicken burrito was just like the kids burrito except a couple pieces of chicken thrown in. Very disappointed in our all our meals. read more
