Really, a 5% "surcharge in support of rising costs?" Come on now. A total turn off. Why not roll those costs into the cost of doing business and add to the prices on the menu? But the reason for this comment today is I want to give a BIG thank you to one of your staff members BRYCE hope I'm spelling his name correctly. He truly went above and beyond he came over to our table and talked to us asking if we were locals and how the food was he brought our dogs a treat as well. They serve cauliflower crust pizza and it's not the kind in a frozen box (which I eat about once a week)... it's sooo much better.. omg. I built my own with blackened shrimp and veggies.. it was fresh and delish - I didn't feel like a piglet after. The pizza is about 11 inches and depending how hungry u r.. 2 can share. I had this one all to myself and brought the other half home.. Place is super casual.. they serve beer and just about every other drink .. from OJ to Gatorade to Voss sparkling water.. I like how they have to- go boxes, plastic utensils, napkins, and condiments up front.. so u don't have to ask..they weren't thrifty on supplies like other places .. I'm talking about ZigZag Pizza, located in Oceanside, CA, footsteps from the pier. ZigZag Pizza has a humble establishment that can be found while walking to the Oceanside Pier and you can see the ocean from their shop patio. There's group seating inside, as well as, tables outside for dining and enjoying the ocean breeze. You'll walk-in to find a plethora of cold beverages, wines and beer at your grasp as you discover their posted menus. Drinks aside, this is the highlight of your visit! There are SO MANY options available to their menu it will make your head spin! Sure, you can simply order one of the preexisting selections, but the true beauty is in the myriad of options you have to customize your pizza and salad! We ordered the Green Eyed Lady and the Maggie's Farm. Both sounded super unique (as in "will I really like this pizza?") but both were amazing. Very tasty toppings and great quality. Did not seem at all like they cut corners to save on cost. The only complaint on taste was on the GEL, a tad on the salty side! Tone the salt down please! My husband and I found this gem in Oceanside next to its fancier sibling 333 and we are surprisingly pleased with the food and the service here. We ordered 2 pizzas and a salad (not pictured). I can offer 5 stars for the value alone. There is nothing we hate more than paying a lot of money for mediocre food. Even worse when it's over hyped. But the prices here is fantastic for the amount and quality of food you get. The pizzas were loaded with fresh and quality toppings with a generous amount of flavor. You know how pizzas can sometimes feel like a grease fest? Well the pizzas here carries so much flavor without the guilty grease on the side. They are amazing! We built our own salad and the portion is generous. I can also attest to the freshness of the salad. I usually don't like my salad already tossed with the dressing but they served it tossed with the perfect amount of green goddess dressing. Definitely not a "date night" kind of place unless you're the kind of person who doesn't need to be pretentious for a great date night. This is my first time trying zigzag and I really liked the freshness of the food!! It is thin crust pizza, but they do have GF option for $2 more and it was good. My crust was a little too crispy (burnt) for my liking but overall the pizza and toppings were great!! I'm just wishing i got more haha my friend got a salad and she loved it too! If you're staying at the Wyndham or close by do not bother coming here. Service was awful. An entire team of people glances at me and ignored me. It may have not been thier assigned job to help me at the front. But a simple someone will be right with you would have been appreciated. I finally gave up and walked back to my table without what I wanted. Pizza took forever & was made wrong. Had to have it remade because of an allergy so yes the wait continued. Came here for lunch with my family- And was completely treated poorly and was cussed out by CARMEN! She was absolutely rude and disrespectful and acted like complete trash- refused to give her name to me after cussing and talking like trash about ignoring missing food. I got the name from the cashier who apologized and was embarrassed about the situation. There was no manager on duty. Will NEVER be back after that experience. Zigzag is part of the Cohn Restaurant Group and is located on the ground floor of the Wyndham Oceanside Pier Resort. Zigzag's entrance faces the street but there's a convenient pass-through door for Wyndham guests to re-enter the resort after they visit Zigzag without having to go back out into the street. I popped in to order pizzas for my relatives who were staying at the Wyndham. The place was active for Sunday early dinner time, but not packed. The lady working the register kindly explained they didn't offer a discount to resort guests. That's a bit surprising, considering they're literally in the same building. Even more surprising to me was Zigzag only sells pies in one size--11 inches. We ordered 3 pies: Pizza #1: Artichoke and sausage with tomato sauce Pizza #2: Sausage and black olives Pizza #3: "Satisfaction" -- pepperoni, sausage, mozzarella, green bell peppers, black olives, onions with tomato sauce Thankfully we grabbed a beer to drink while we waited for our pizzas so I could drown my sorrows of spending so much dough on dough. The pizzas were cooked to order but came out relatively quickly. Each pie was properly baked without any burnt crust or burn marks. The toppings were good quality. This shop makes a solid pizza with consistent results that you'd expect from an established restaurant group, but there's nothing mind-blowing offered here that you can't find elsewhere. It's also by the beach and attached to a resort just steps from the ocean so expect prices to reflect these factors and you won't get sticker shocked. read more

This was a good pizza, but it wasn't great. I got takeout, which normally isn't nearly as good as in-store food, which is why I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. They had a lot of pizzas to choose from including some "different" flavors which I can appreciate. They also had a bunch of bottled root beer flavors, so that was fun to try those. If I am in the area again and need something quick and easy, I'd come back. But I doubt I'd go out of my way to come back here. read more

This pizza place is in a great location in downtown. Sadly after my recent experience, I'm hoping a better store opens up at this location. Ordered 2 pizzas. One came out decently cooked the other pizza most oft the topping came out all burnt. The garlic, corn, onion, everything was black only the meat (sausage & pepperoni) survived. If your going yo give a customer a product like this, it is akin as flipping them off. I don't recall being rude to staff or anything. Hindsight, I should have opened the box before leaving. Also the drizzle was basically a glob. This location use to do pretty well. Maybe it's Covid and the place can't find decent help. It's nothing special. Tourist area pizza. Be aware you have to have a receipt to use the restroom at the Wyndham, so ok, but the door says no entry and the other is locked so you can't wash your hands before eating. No hand wipes or sanitizer provided. I was really put off by the menu board. They felt the need to state they were adding 4% because of the rise in minimum wage. They could just add that 4% to the items and shut up. If you can't afford to cost shift 4% to run a business you're doing it wrong. It's also insulting to those workers that have to stand there under a sign like that. I will NOT go back. If I can't pay someone, I won't hire them, and I won't support businesses that don't treat their employees well. The pizza was thin and small, but the taste of the Green Goddess was alright, just salty. Sloppy crust. This is only a place to go if you have to, not for great pizza. read more

I ordered take out yesterday 7/19. I ordered the satisfaction pizza with extra sauce. I would guess the size is maybe 10 "s at best. The cook never added extra sauce. It was pretty dry and the dough looked and tasted like cardboard. It was premade and cheap. $9.95 and a 4% surcharge will be added to all Guest checks to help cover increasing costs and in support of the recent increases to minimum wage and benefits for our dedicated Team Members. The business is close on Mondays and Tuesdays because they are short handed. Sounds like they can't keep help these days. Think I'll look for another pizza restaurant read more

Really yummy thin crust pizza that's just steps from the boardwalk/beach area! It looks like in non-covid times it is a quick in and out grab and go mode which they have made to be a more "made to order" currently. There is a huge selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, pizzas, and salads. The cheese and pepperoni pizzas we ordered were delicious and the salads were nicely tossed and fresh (even though they came out in plastic containers as if they were made ahead of time. We enjoyed the food and there are some nice tables with umbrellas outside for seating during covid. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos because it just tasted so good! I will note, the woman who brought our food out to us only brought two forks for 5 people and no napkins, which didn't make sense... but she was very friendly! read more
