It was my first time trying Odie's Pizza. Although I had it delivered for takeout, it was perfect! Everything ordered was top notch quality and delicious! The food was delivered on time , hot as promised, and the driver was pleasant too. The Bennie and the Jets Pizza was my favorite. The Whipped Burrata came in a container on the side so that it wasn't melted. Very nice! My fear was that the Hot Honey would be too spicy. Not at all, the Hot Honey was a perfect compliment to the Sopressata. Also, the sourdough crust was very flavorful and had a perfect texture. The Basil was super fresh too. I don't really care for Chicken Wings, but I ordered them to try. The Wings with a BBQ Dry Rub were delicious and crispy. Not greasy. A mid-week visit while coming back from San Diego State University. This was the perfect stopping point to by pass the 5pm traffic. As you enter Odie's you get this relaxing beach vibe. Families & dogs could be seen throughout Odie's adding to the casual atmosphere. Chopped Salad that comprises of Romaine lettuce, chickpea, tomato,red onion, pepperoni, mozzarella pearls with a Lemon Herb Vinaigrette was a great choice since we wanted some meat. Freshness was evident with all the vibrant colors in this salad. Benny & the Jets pizza-not your typical pizza w/Hot Honey that complimented the Evoo base, mozzarella,sopressata, whipped burrata, fresh basil & sea salt. We are meat lovers so decided to add sausage to it & it was perfect. This pizza was a sweet & savory delight that ticklled my taste buds. I would definitely come back for this again. My regular pizza place has been 'temporarily closed' for some time now, and that really sucks. So lately, we have been trying to find a new, Friday-night pizza delivery place. We tried Odies. We ordered the NY 16" 'Welcome to Paradise' add Sausage to 1/2... $38.47. While we liked the crust very much, there were a few other problems with the pizza. The sauce is too sweet for our tastes; I wanted the sausage on my half, but turns out, I just don't care for their sausage brand's taste or type. Strangely, I got charged for 'bacon 1/2', but never ordered bacon or even tasted it on there at all. It was an okay pizza. Probably won't get it again. read more

Odie's has been on my list since they opened and I'm so happy to have finally tried their sourdough pizza! We all know the sourdough craze at the moment, but this is the first sourdough pizza spot I've seen. Their motto is "sourdough pies, radical vibes" and that couldn't be more accurate! They have a counter for you to place your order. The staff is helpful and the environment is super casual, but welcoming. They have skateboards on the wall and I was tempted by their super cool merch. We ordered the Dude Ranch NY pizza, the Viktor Vaughn NY pizza, and the Benny and the Jett's Grandma pizza. I knew right away the Benny and the Jett's would be my favorite and it lived up to that expectation. I'm a sucker for a hot honey pizza, but then add burrata into the mix and I'm sold. Ohhh man! What a night out! 6 of us planned to have our book club meet here to try the famous sourdough crust out! Our fault for not researching how small this place is! So tables were hard to come by- we stalked a family that was almost done until we could pounce on their table- then gathered a few stray chairs- it's a go up and order type! We ordered a Harvest Moon, light on the cheese. Seating was tough, but we got lucky to find seats for the two of us. As busy as they are, they could really use another location. I love it when I find a good pizza joint. Pizza is one of those things that can really make you happy when it's done right, this place definitely did just that. I ordered the "Biggie Smalls ", which had sausage, vodka sauce, aged mozzarella and basil. The crust was soft and slightly tangy due to the sourdough nature, total plus for me being gluten sensitive. They do offer gluten free if you prefer though. The sauce was also really good, I don't usually get vodka sauce on my pizza since I'm pretty much a traditionalist, but I was pleasantly surprised and will be getting this again. If you have a large dog, it's nearly impossible to maneuver through people and tables. At first, we grabbed a table but it was in a high traffic area and we quickly moved to the patio where our large 74 pound puppers had a tad more room. Inside tip (and I hate to say it)- if you have a large dog, leave them at home. There's no room. :( We ordered the new york style, welcome to paradise. It's basically a classic pepperoni pizza. That's fine. It's exactly how I judge pizza. See, here's how I do it...you can throw a thousand toppings on a pizza, but if the crust, sauce, and cheese isn't good...you're basically just hiding it under all the toppings. So, going back to my roots... The pepperoni are the small pepperoni cups which seems the majority of California pizza places use. I've learned to overlook that. The crust- A picture is worth a thousand words. New York style crust should never flop like that. Ever. If I wasn't told it was sourdough crust, I wouldn't have known. Sauce- Meh. I wish it was more flavorful. I found myself adding grated parmesan cheese to the pizza. I rarely do that. Cheese- I couldn't overlook the floppiness of the crust and the lack of flavor in the sauce to focus on the cheese. Oh, Odie's. I was so hopeful. I thought you had me at sourdough crust, but it just didn't deliver. For a little backstory, my fiancée is originally from NYC. So she's an absolute NY pizza snob. Whereas I'm a lifelong CA native. & let's be honest, comparatively, CA does not have a renowned reputation for superb pizza. So I am a little more open-minded about pizzas. To be fair, it was Detroit-style, but that sourdough was memorable. So here we were, looking to relive that glory. We didn't park nearby, as we were out walking the pooch anyway. Odie's is dog friendly. There's a small outdoor/ sidewalk dining section where we grabbed a couple seats. But it's tight quarters for maneuvering a bigger dog on a busy Saturday afternoon. Service ordering at the counter was OK, but slow. Everyone was lining up for 1 register. We ordered a NY Style "Welcome To Paradise." In concept, basically a simple classic NY pie. For as busy as it was, the pizza was brought out before too long. It wasn't great. It wasn't terrible. It was sorta just meh. The crust was limp & missing noticeable sourdough. The sauce tasted flavorless. The cheese lacked the character I was expecting from the aged mozzarella listed on the menu. The pepperoni was fine. While I'm nowhere near the pizza snob my fiancée is, I was hoping for another amazing sourdough pizza experience. They are even doing a Collab with Craft coast. And even have a signature pizza with their collab and it looks delicious! I ordered Welcome to paradise, 14in With pepperoni, with a wait time of 1 hour. The pizza was worth the wait. It was absolutely delicious!! it's not thick on bread, but it was super crunchy and crispy with a lot of flavor. They have self-serve sections where you can access plates, forks, and knives, crushed pepper and Parmesan, along with pre-folded boxes to go. The dining section inside is kind of small, they do have seating on the side patio. A lot of the seating are tall seats (high bar stools) and they are really high. I did notice some small families with strollers were struggling to find seating because they had a little ones. Me personally I was not a fan of the tall seats. TL;DR - the Viktor Vaughn is a pepperoni and pineapple pizza. It's really good! I'd come back to try their other options The pizza here is really good. Solid options and very quick service. We got the Viktor Vaughn which as red sauce, aged mozzarella, pepperoni, jalapenos, and PINAPPLE (don't judge me!). We had a random craving for pineapple pizza so we went with this. I love pepperoni and sausage so at least it had the pepperoni element lol. We ordered on their website and I started walking over a few minutes later from our hotel. It was a short walk and pick up was really easy. It was quite lively and noisy so you know this place is always popular (it's on the corner of the street after all). They got me my pizza real quick. The utensils, napkins, etc were located in the corner of the restaurant by the front door. I usually don't eat pizza with pineapple but this one hit the spot. My family and I happily enjoyed it in our hotel room and next time, we will try eating it at the restaurant itself. Theres so many other options there including root beer floats. Middle of pizza was so wet and soggy, crust was as thin as this picture shows, pizza couldn't hold any structure since it was so soggy and oily. We ate it there too! So it wasn't from sitting in a box on the way home for clarity. Buncha jalapeño stems on the pizza too. We just wanted a pep+jalapeño pizza. Somehow they managed to do half jalapeño pepperoni instead? The area off mission Ave in Oceanside is really starting to develop quite a bit! Perfect spots for date night or weekend adventure! My husband and I stopped by for a quick bite before heading to the movies with our friends. We noticed a new pizza place right on the corner near the parking structure and figured we'd check it out. A decently sized shop with lots of seating both inside and out makes this place extremely attractive for anyone looking for a bite. Do not let the crowds and lines deter you away!! What we noticed after the fact was the sign saying sourdough pan pizzas and we were immediately excited to try as we both love sourdough bread! Service was very fast and extremely friendly. When I saw this place open about six months ago, I was excited to try it. Since then I have been reading great reviews about it all over the place. Recently, a friend of mine is renting a place just above the beach, not too far away and invited me to visit. There are so many places up-and-coming in that area, but I knew I wanted to try Odie's. It was just a short walk away an upon arriving. It was very busy. The decor is very skate friendly with skateboards on the wall and radical tiled on the floor. It's a big open space with a rollup door so you can sit outside. After perusing the menu, we decided on the pepperoni pizza and a root beer float. We ordered and waited to find a seat because there weren't any at the time. As we waited, a group got up to leave so we took their spot. Within minutes, the staff was there cleaning the table for us. We got our root beer float first so we were happily sipping on that. The pizza itself did not take that long when it was delivered. I asked if I could have a side of hot honey, which is my preference on pizza. The staff member cheerily agreed and brought it back quickly. At first bite, it was delicious. I added some of the hot honey and my friend added red chili flakes. I did try it without the hot honey and it did have a little bit of a kick to it which I did not hate. The crust was perfectly cooked. I could taste the sourdough. It wasn't soggy at all like most places. It definitely kept a crunch to it all throughout the pizza. I wish pepperoni didn't leave so much grease but that's not their fault. We couldn't finish the pizza so we took a few slices that we had left to go. It was a bust Saturday night around 7 and we waited about 20 minutes just to get to the front of the line and be told that they were not doing "Grandma" style (Detroit). Wanted to grab something easy on a lazy Saturday and this spot was close to where we were staying. The smell that hits you as you get close to the restaurant is intoxicating. The staff were super cool and on their game. I saw the option for well done and I'd never seen that before, but after eating, I can definitely see how that might next this to the next level. The crust had a really good texture and the sour dough flavor was complementary to the sweetness of the sauce. Our pie was a little bit doughy in the center and could have maybe used a couple more minutes but that may have been my fault for not going well done. Would absolutely recommend you check this place out but keep an eye on the time you go because it's definitely a popular spot. read more

As much as I would like to say that I adore this place and will be coming here often, it just wasn't a five star night for me. The location, decor, and pizza are great. My family and I went on a Saturday night and it was absolutely packed. There were a couple of large parties that had rearranged the tables to seat 10+ people and it was very hard to maneuver in the small restaurant, especially with a stroller and a toddler. The employee taking our order was very kind and suggested her favorite pizzas. There are a variety of shapes and sizes of pizza. There are also different sauce options. We ended up with a hot honey pepperoni situation that was fairly good. I do enjoy the sourdough crust. I would like to try a different style/flavor next time. They have a nice on draft root beer and some fun, local beers and wines as well. The salad was nothing special. I think it will be a carryout only spot for me! read more
