I finally made it to Odie's Pizza in Oceanside, just a short walk from the pier. We parked in the free parking structure nearby and walked over. The amazing smell coming from the restaurant is what first caught our attention and drew us in. The restaurant has a small dining area with garage door style windows that were open while we were there, giving it a fun indoor outdoor vibe. I could see it being really cozy with the doors closed on a cooler day. I love that they offer pizza by the slice, which makes it easy to try different flavors. We came in on a Monday evening a couple of hours before closing, but they were no longer serving the specialty slices, only cheese and pepperoni. I was a little disappointed since I had been hoping to try one of the specialty pizzas. We ordered pepperoni slices with ranch on the side and hot honey on one of them. The service was friendly and fast, and even though the restaurant was packed, our group of five was able to find a table. The ranch was fantastic and herby and definitely housemade , and the pizza... wow. It was so good! I loved the crust, the flavor was excellent, and it wasn't overly greasy. A mid-week visit while coming back from San Diego State University. This was the perfect stopping point to by pass the 5pm traffic. As you enter Odie's you get this relaxing beach vibe. Chopped Salad that comprises of Romaine lettuce, chickpea, tomato,red onion, pepperoni, mozzarella pearls with a Lemon Herb Vinaigrette was a great choice since we wanted some meat. Freshness was evident with all the vibrant colors in this salad. Benny & the Jets pizza-not your typical pizza w/Hot Honey that complimented the Evoo base, mozzarella,sopressata, whipped burrata, fresh basil & sea salt. Heard good things about Odie's, so we thought we'd give it a go... Ordered online for pickup - a build-your-own (BYO) NY-style pizza, half-cheese, half-pepperoni. Made our way down there 15 minutes later, had to wait about 10 minutes for the pizza no biggie (we got lucky with parking but it's a bit tricky as that area is pretty crowded on weekend evenings). The restaurant was packed, cool and comfortable decor (some OG skate decks on the wall), plenty of open space and fresh air flowing. Would definitely have eaten at the restaurant had time permitted. Staff was very friendly and helpful, even gave us some extra ranch dressings without charging us (which many places don't do). which was very appreciated. Also noticed they had many beers in top, had ice cream and soft serve offerings for dessert, and some signs posted around the restaurant advertising some pretty good lunch specials. The pizza itself was pretty good. Super fresh toppings, sourdough crust which was very tasty but would have preferred a bit more char and crunch (probably need to order pizza a little well done next time). The cheese/sauce ratio was on point. The ranch dressing (I don't eat it with pizza - but wanted to taste it separately) was really good - fresh dill in it, which I am a fan of. Our experience started off great, first time there, pretty lively when we got in line to order. We ordered two pepperoni slices, a cesar salad, and some wings. Our salad and pizza arrived so we started eating and everything was delicious. Kept waiting for the wings, nothing came. My partner went to ask the girl we ordered from what happened to the food and they had confirmed there was a mix up and our wings were never made. We ended up asking for a refund since there wasn't any other options to assist us. The worker told us her manager was on break and we would have to wait until she was done. Since we had already been waiting and had somewhere else to be, we politely asked if they could comp us a couple of drinks for the inconvenience. When the manager, Dezzy, finally came to our table after her break, she apologized for the mix-up. We told her we completely understood that mistakes happen and even thanked her for comping our drinks while we waited. She smiled and walked away without ever addressing the refund. When I approached her to ask if she was still going to process the refund, she immediately responded with an attitude and said she would not issue it because we had received complimentary drinks. I explained that the drinks were only offered because we had been waiting 30 minutes for her to return from her break so she could process the refund. She argued that her employees were never supposed to give us the drinks, and I told her that was an issue to address with her staff, not the customer. Throughout the conversation, she repeatedly interrupted me and would not allow me to explain the situation. I eventually had to ask if she was going to let me speak. I informed her that I am also a manager and the way she was handling the issue was unprofessional. Rather than addressing my concerns, she questioned where I worked, which I pointed out was irrelevant. After a lengthy and unnecessary argument, she walked away and later returned with the refund receipt. She handed it to us without saying a word and left. We ordered the NY 16" 'Welcome to Paradise' add Sausage to 1/2... $38.47. While we liked the crust very much, there were a few other problems with the pizza. The sauce is too sweet for our tastes; I wanted the sausage on my half, but turns out, I just don't care for their sausage brand's taste or type. So here's the reason why I'm giving a low rating. Me and my friend were here on May 25th 2026. Customer service was very rude and we were served by a white young man. Really easy to order and try to snag a table or just take the pizza to go. I've been lucky every time to order just at the same time as another party is leaving their table. Even though I'm a pizza purist (born and raised in NYC), I do love a good sourdough pizza. I've only had it once it my life in Seattle so I compare the crust to that, but the sauce and cheese....well, that goes back to my roots. Inside tip (and I hate to say it)- if you have a large dog, leave them at home. There's no room. :( We ordered the new york style, welcome to paradise. It's basically a classic pepperoni pizza. That's fine. It's exactly how I judge pizza. See, here's how I do it...you can throw a thousand toppings on a pizza, but if the crust, sauce, and cheese isn't good...you're basically just hiding it under all the toppings. So, going back to my roots... The pepperoni are the small pepperoni cups which seems the majority of California pizza places use. I've learned to overlook that. The crust- A picture is worth a thousand words. New York style crust should never flop like that. Ever. If I wasn't told it was sourdough crust, I wouldn't have known. Sauce- Meh. I wish it was more flavorful. I found myself adding grated parmesan cheese to the pizza. I rarely do that. Cheese- I couldn't overlook the floppiness of the crust and the lack of flavor in the sauce to focus on the cheese. It was absolutely delicious!! it's not thick on bread, but it was super crunchy and crispy with a lot of flavor. They have self-serve sections where you can access plates, forks, and knives, crushed pepper and Parmesan, along with pre-folded boxes to go. The dining section inside is kind of small, they do have seating on the side patio. A lot of the seating are tall seats (high bar stools) and they are really high. I did notice some small families with strollers were struggling to find seating because they had a little ones. Me personally I was not a fan of the tall seats. We got the Viktor Vaughn which as red sauce, aged mozzarella, pepperoni, jalapenos, and PINAPPLE (don't judge me!). We had a random craving for pineapple pizza so we went with this. I love pepperoni and sausage so at least it had the pepperoni element lol. We ordered on their website and I started walking over a few minutes later from our hotel. It was a short walk and pick up was really easy. It was quite lively and noisy so you know this place is always popular (it's on the corner of the street after all). They got me my pizza real quick. Odie's is dog friendly. There's a small outdoor/ sidewalk dining section where we grabbed a couple seats. But it's tight quarters for maneuvering a bigger dog on a busy Saturday afternoon. Service ordering at the counter was OK, but slow. Everyone was lining up for 1 register. We ordered a NY Style "Welcome To Paradise." In concept, basically a simple classic NY pie. For as busy as it was, the pizza was brought out before too long. It wasn't great. It wasn't terrible. It was sorta just meh. The crust was limp & missing noticeable sourdough. The sauce tasted flavorless. The cheese lacked the character I was expecting from the aged mozzarella listed on the menu. The pepperoni was fine. While I'm nowhere near the pizza snob my fiancée is, I was hoping for another amazing sourdough pizza experience. That will have to wait.* I'd say the pizza I had at Odie's was run-of-the-mill for CA. You can get something like this at a lot of pizza places around here, sourdough or not. read more

Everyone loves Oldie's and you can tell whenever you walk by. My work did catering and this might be a controversial decision, but we ordered them all Grandma Style. Which is a variation of Detroit pan style pizza. Street parking is challenging, but completely worth it. Gluten free Pizza was phenomenal!! Evoo, mozzarella, ricotta, basil and garlic.... The crust is crispy, yet chewy. The garlic was cloves baked in. By far the best gluten free pizza I have ever had, and I have tried MANY! Highly recommend!! It didn't taste gluten free at all, but I didn't get sick soooo... yay!!
