My love for craft beer brought me here first and after the first bite of their pizza, I come here for the food first and their beer second. I've always ordered their largest pizza and would take the rest home to Los Angeles, but this time I was in the area for Stone Brewing's 30th Anniversary Celebration and did not have a fridge in the hotel I was staying at. My brother-in-law asked the cashier if they sold slices and they did! I never knew! Maybe I just didn't want to know so I would take the leftovers home. If ordering a whole pie, it's made to order. Hot, fresh and delicious. I love the sauce they put on their pizzas and the bread is simply amazing - especially the crust! I was hooked at first bite and the kids' first request is to eat here when in the area. A win win for me because I love the beer here too! There's limited parking in the back but a ton of street parking is available. There's also a bar outside they open at times along with several tables too. Architecturally interesting appeal enjoyed the playful environment with plenty of individual sections to sit. We had the Ocean pizza that I couldn't quite grasp the connection to the title, nevertheless very tasty added mozzarella cheese which I think made it exceptional as it hid the veggies, at least for finicky kids since it was like a blanket over the entire pizza. Ocean Beach Portabella mushrooms, butternut squash, asparagus, roasted red peppers, gorgonzola cheese, & bacon, served on our traditional crust with original pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese. First off...I love Pizza Port food. Their pizza crust is the perfect combination of fluffy and crispy, toppings are plentiful and fresh, and their selection is amazing. Beer buddies, especially the cajun style, are delicious and my husband believes they make the best buffalo chicken wings in San Diego. Pizza Port always has a great selection of their own beer, as well as guest beers, both on tap and in bottles. Be warned - it gets BUSY! Went on a Saturday at 6pm and the wait for pizza was an hour and we had to be quick on draw to find an open table. Lots of video game activities to keep young, and young at heart, entertained. Pints were $5.00 during game time! The small Caesar salad was enough for 3 since we were also having pizza. Salad was cold and crisp. Dressing was tangy. We shared half San Francisco and half Carlsbad pizza. Both had plenty of toppings and was perfectly cooked. Great selection of beers on tap and in bottles and great pizza with many different varieties to choose from. We got the meat lovers one night and a supreme the other along with some wings. Pizza is done quickly and it's more of a "your order is ready come and get it" kind of place, but that's pretty standard at all the Pizza Ports and they are fast and efficient. They are also known for their beer and had a wide variety of craft selections. The only issues with Pizza Port are the prices are somewhat high and the wait times can get long during peak periods. That being said, I do like the laid back concept and no rush approach to hanging out. I would go back again and likely try to avoid peak hours. Very simple salad with just lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, and cucumbers, but the lettuce was just okay & majority of the cucumbers were old/disgusting - look like they had been frozen or gotten cold and then uncold and then recold. Definitely should not have put those on a salad and given to a customer. Need some quality control. My son got the wings and will usually devour them, but was done after one, I tried them and so did my husband.... Would not get again, tasted super fatty. We have gotten the mozzarella sticks before and those are decent. You placed your order at the counter and then they will call your name for pick up once your food is ready and appetizers typically come out first. Separate ordering at the bar for beer and wine. We stick with the standard pepperoni and occasionally get the BBQ Chicken Pizza. It's always delicious. There are some interesting city themed pizzas, but we have stayed away from those. Salads are also solid. It has a fun atmosphere. There are video games for the kids. It's order at the counter and they call your number. This location is advertised as closing at 10pm on Sunday. Tried ordering food and they said kitchen is closed. I walked in at 8:30pm. Asked what the reason is from the woman prepping the pizza dough and she said it was because the mic was broken. THE MIC!!!. I then told them about my frustration because this is the second time I have been to this location where the kitchen closed early and another staff person said they had a rough day and the microphone was broken so the had to close the kitchen. I was told by this person Friday and Saturday they close at 10 and Sunday they close at 9pm. I told her google said they close at 9pm. She then said they said, "Well now you know!" when I mentioned the listed closing hours as 10pm. So, what is it Pizza Port, 9 or 10. We went to watch the World Cup Final, but they refused to turn on the game audio, which took away a big part of the experience. Many people ended up leaving because of it and going to Draft Republic. The service was prompt and they were helpful in our ordering the pizza. It's a busy place with picnic style seating and some video games for kids. We came here back at the of May after spending most of the morning in the Carlsbad street fairs it was the perfect meal after walking all morning. We had a stroller and two pugs in a wagon so the patio area was perfect for us. The staff was really friendly and took our order quickly at the front. We got a pizza half cheese and the other half pepperoni with jalapeño, pretzel, and Mac& cheese bites. The pretzel and the pizza were very delicious and the crust was crunchy. Having all the condiments at the side for you to help yourself is so convenient that way we don't have to ask for ranch, Parmesan and even go boxes. I was disappointed in the Mac and cheese. They could have been a little better, they were missing some flavor. It just tasted like cheese with elbow pasta. No waiters here. You walk up, order and get your drinks. Food, pretty much the same thing. You walk up, order and then pickup the food when they call your name. Bar seating inside with a few tables. Plenty of park bench seating outdoors. Bathrooms are small. You need to time it right or you're waiting. Great beer selection for every beer taste. The pizza is the star. How disappointing. Heard about Pizza Port from friends and thought I would give it a try. Came here with my family for Sunday night football pizza. While it was louder than I expected, I knew this would the environment I chose. I ordered a few small pizzas and four fountain drinks for my wife and kids and me. The fountain machine did not have any ice. I looked around and this appeared to be the only fountain drink machine. When I told the young lady behind the register she said she would just fill our cups for us in the back. She did so and we each got a different flavor of drink. Every single drink flavor in the machine was flat. The Dr Pepper was flat and hot. I didn't want to be "that customer" but at $3.25/drink, I would like to enjoy a cold tasty beverage with my food. The young lady said she would look into it but it was never addressed again. The food came out and was fine. No issues. Other than having pizza and wings with something that can be best described as DR.Pepper tasting water. It doesn't take much to ruin a meal and this did it for me. Coupled with the "I'll look into it" which was an obvious sign that they would not; I won't be returning to this establishment. Maybe beer is their strong point and they don't care about those not wanting to drink alcohol and enjoy a tasty pizza.
