Carne asada Taco with their delicious pico de gallo ‍
    Jericho G.

I cannot hype this location up enough! Everything is made with such high-quality ingredients--you can truly taste the difference. The service is always top-notch, and don't even get me started on the flavors--they never miss! Every chance I get, I'm stopping by for the loaded fries, my favorite al pastor taco, and of course their churros (which are made fresh every single day and always hit) And the carne asada? Not your typical kind--but it hits every single time. Also, a special shoutout to Val who was there today--such a sweetheart! So kind, welcoming, and really made the whole experience even better. Love you Diva!

Really good California burrito for only $10! And the tacos are large, but also about $3.50. Large selection of self serve salsas. They have a small parking lot

Ordered at the counter. Place was loud so hard to hear the repeated order. Sat outside on the patio. Choices shade, or the sun. The food took a while to come out, but it was delicious. The tortillas are made to order. Plenty of salsa choices to choose from. The shrimp burrito was more than enough for one person. Each of us had two tacos and they were plentiful. The bag of chips was huge and we made a dent with five people and took the rest home.

We left home too late on our trip to San Diego and got hungry while driving through Oceanside. Being a "tacos- any-day" kind of couple, we stopped at the Taco Stand for a quick lunch. Located at the south end of the city, the stand alone restaurant had its own parking lot large enough for 20 cars. Inside, the combo of tables and counter could accommodate 30 guests, and there was also outdoor seating for 30 more. The line was long but it moved pretty fast. The overhead menu by the cashier was simple and easy to understand. For this visit, we ordered 6 different tacos (corn tortillas only) and they were ready in about 15 minutes: Pescado (Mahi Mahi) and Shrimp Tacos: Both tacos came with pleasantly creamy sauce similar to Thousand Island, plus chopped tomatoes, cabbage, and a slice of avocado. Both fish and shrimp pieces were fresh and with very nice textures. Carne Asada and Pollo Asado Tacos: The beef (carne asada) was soft and perfectly seasoned, and the slightly charred chicken (pollo asado) was tender and savory. The creamy avocado and chopped fresh onions went extremely well with the tacos. El pastor Taco: This was my favorite taco. The marinated pork meat was tender and succulently fatty. The creamy sauce with pineapple bits gave a nice counterbalance to the meat. Mushroom: The sauce was flavorful, and the sauteed mushrooms had a nice texture and were quite juicy. The slice of avocado gave the taco a nice creaminess. Overall, a very nice meal and totally worthy of repeating.

The first time I came here, it was fantastic. The second time, they were just as busy as the first but somehow they left major ingredients out of my order and it really soured my evening. But I guess it's a good habit to check to-go orders regardless. I ordered Mar y Tierra fries and they completely left out the shrimp. I also ordered a carne asada quesadilla and added nopales that were left out. While the food wasn't bad, it's just not the same with missing ingredients, especially when you pay extra for those ingredients.

Service is good, place is clean, fun spot to go and chill. Food seriously lacks flavor. I like the tortilla they use for their burritos and the crispy fries are good. They ran out of chips at 4pm. And they weren't making anymore. I wouldn't come here again. I got the California burrito and the carne asada. The California burrito was small needed seasoning. The Carne asada burrito was bigger but they put sauteed vegetables and all the juice from the veggies made the burrito completely soggy and wet. I just removed the tortilla and ate it with a fork. Both burritos needed seasoning

First time trying this location. One thing that needs major improvement is the seating. There is just not enough. I know they make everything made to order but they do take a bit to get your order, so don't come here if you are in a hurry. We had a party of 7 and we ordered chicken tacos, chips and guac, asada tacos and drinks. Food was ok, not the must go to spot but decent. Pricing is a bit high as well. Will this be the new go to? Probably not. Maybe a once a year spot? Yes. Needs better parking, better seating, and to speed up their cook line.

I have been wanting to come here hearing the rave about this taco stand. I know they have one in Encinitas but I was in Carlsbad and saw they opened new one in Oceanside. This is the Oceanside location. The food was delicious! Although at beginning price seems high for a piece but the quantity they put on each one was very decent. We ordered the following: pescado taco (mahi mahi fish), carne asade taco, al pastor taco, al pastor burrito, carne asada tostada. We find the al pastor the best and very tasty! They also have salsa bar and we like their salsa Verde, chipotle sauce, and Pico de gallo. Indoor and outdoor seating. Love the Latino music playing, makes me feel like no need to travel to Mexico. What is awesome about this place is they make their tortillas fresh! They have a machine that makes it and immediately puts them on the grill. Their tortilla chips are also freshly made too! The guy behind the kitchen was very sweet! He was so nice to let me take pictures and he gave a free fresh tortilla off the grill to try. I felt bit shy but humbly accepted it. While we were waiting, he was so kind to give us a box of tortillas to eat while we waited for our food. Also, we were missing one fish tacos and he was so nice to give me an extra one for their mistake. I will be back for sure not only good staff but great fresh tacos and burritos. Keep up the awesome food!

We had the Pollo asada and the California burrito. I would say, on a scale from 1-10, this a a run don't walk.

The ambiance is very Oceanside; outdoor seating with heaters. Like . The service is fast paced it's a great place so it gets busy. But the wait is worth it. I had the Pollo Asada tacos, they were unexpectedly delicious; 10 out of 10, delicious! From what I could gather it's a popular place. Check it out

We came here for lunch on a Sunday and scored parking right in front. Also got lucky and beat the lunch rush as a long line formed right after we ordered. I got a Camaron ($4.69) and Al Pastor ($3.99) Taco with the Carne Asada Fries ($10.59) to share. The tacos are filling and I like all the variety of toppings it includes. Of course there's still a salsa bar for more. The fries are good for two and I like how they use nacho cheese on top of the sour cream, guacamole, and meat. It was nice to get a good amount of everything in every bite. This spot has indoor and outdoor seating, which is perfect on a nice day out. There's a small parking lot as well. Delicious and affordable Mexican food with various locations throughout SoCal.

I been hearing good things about their California burrito. Well it didn't disappoint. Meat was well seasoned and the flower tortilla was excellent. This place has plenty of seating with a well stocked salsa bar. Parking is a little small but it has street parking. Come by and you be the judge?

The food is amazing! I recommend the mushroom taco! Generous servings and salsa bar! Customer service is amazing also! Mayra gives us quick and friendly service each visit! The ambience feel of little Baja on PCH in Oceanside.

Not great, necessarily, but good and the prices are some of the best around. They have a ton of options, and lots of drinks, including beer. We were just picking up, and it was a very hot day. The restaurant didn't have any air-conditioning so it was quite warm inside. Most people were eating outside. We'll be back again to try some other menu items given that their prices are generally pretty good.

Came in for an early dinner and to try this place out. Have heard many things via social media…read more For starters, we got complimentary chips & salsa. The salsa was good IMO, though the rest of the table thought it was too spicy. For drinks we chose a Mexican Candy ($15) and Hibiscus Margarita ($14). They were okay. I think not really worth the price (barely any buzz). I'll probably stick with a beer next time but that's okay. For food, we ordered the Chile Relleno & Cheese Enchilada ($20), Queso Birria Taco Plate ($18) and for me, the Fajita Mixta ($26). Everyone liked their food. For me, I've had better fajitas elsewhere (Mariscos Hualtulco is my fav) but these were still good (except no green bell pepper for some reason). I noticed the *new* menu price for the fajitas was $29 (Mixta), but on the bill it was still $26 (old menu price). So be aware, the new price is coming obviously. I want to try the Molcajete but $38 is a stretch! Atmosphere was okay. It was a Saturday and although it was early, I expected a more vibrant feel, but maybe that comes later in the night. There was plenty of seating. Parking was okay, but the lot was oddly packed however even though the restaurant was not. I would come back to try something else on the menu, but with so many great Mexican options in our area, they need that extra something to attract more patrons. A happy hour with $10 margs for starters would be nice.

This is by far one of my favorite places for Mexican food in SoCal. As a Cali Native now living in…read morethe great state of Texas, sometimes it's refreshing to step outside the land of Tex‑Mex and get the real deal again. Colima's hits that spot every single time. When you walk in, the person behind the counter greets you immediately -- and not the dry "hi, what can I get you?" type of greeting. You get a full "¡Buenos días, mija!" with that warm, almost‑grito energy that makes you feel like you just walked into your tío's spot instead of a restaurant. Super friendly, super natural, and very SoCal. I ordered the rolled tacos plate and wow... esa porción estaba gigante. I couldn't finish it. What I loved most was the meat; this is what meat is supposed to taste like. The beef was seasoned the way we grew up eating it: a little salty, a little savory, with that slow‑cooked tenderness that lets you know it didn't come from some pre‑bagged, mystery‑meat situation. You get hints of garlic, a little cumin, and that warm, almost toasty flavor that comes from meat that's actually been browned, not steamed. It tasted like someone's abuela was in the back saying, "No, no, déjalo dorar un poquito más. And the corn tortillas? Perfect. Thin enough to get that crisp roll, thick enough not to shatter. None of that flour‑tortilla‑trying‑to‑be‑crispy nonsense. These were crunchy, flavorful, and loaded. The toppings were just as good. The guacamole tasted fresh. You could taste the real avocado which was creamy, a little chunky, with lime that actually tasted like lime and not concentrate. The red salsa had a legit kick to it. It had hints of roasted chiles, was smoky and had a slightly bitter edge that tells you they actually roasted them instead of just tossing raw peppers into a blender. It wasn't tourist spicy; it was SoCal Mexican‑restaurant spicy, which is a whole different category. My partner ordered a breakfast burrito and honestly? That thing could've fed three people. It was massive, stuffed to the brim with cheese, egg, potatoes, and fresh bacon and exactly what a SoCal breakfast burrito should be: simple, hearty, and no shortcuts. Between the portions, the flavor, and the service that feels like home, this spot stays on my list every time I'm in Oceanside. If you're craving real Mexican food and not Tex‑Mex, pull up. You'll leave full and happy. #supportlocal
