While I was waiting, I got to try samples of a couple of their drinks, and they were amazing--so fresh! I saw at least seven people come in just for the drinks, so they're clearly popular. Mariana greeted me with a smile and immediately explained what had happened. She put a rush on my food order and even gave me my favorite drink for free because of the inconvenience. This was the second time I had Frida's Tacos catered for our parties. And I'm so glad I did. They are so professional with set up and clean up. The presentation was really nice. My family and friends loved everything. With catering you get rice and beans, chips and salsa's. All the taco fixings. 2 choices of agua fresca and 1 vegetarian and three proteins options. I picked the watermelon and cucumber lime water. With the my vegetarian option being soy chorizo w/potatoes. and my 3 proteins were carne asada, birria and al pastor. All were amazing! The meat itself was tender and flavorful The carne asada in my taco was a tad fatty, but other than that it was delicious!!! I'm surprised by the number of stars on here for Frida's, I thought the tacos were fantastic! The dining area was large and clean and the people who made the tacos FRESH to order were so friendly. You can also watch them make your food through the window if you'd like. There is a salsa bar and some fun decorations inside and outside but about what you would expect for a taqueria. This place was recommended to us by someone that works at Holiday Inn, where we stayed. We just happened to go on Taco Tuesday. Two dollar tacos and they were delicious! This place is really popular. We went at about 9 pm at night and they were packed. They're open until 11 PM which was great, because we had just driven into town and wanted to find something that was still open late. We will definitely be returning the next time we're in Oceanside. Tried Frida's Taqueria for the first time and got the al pastor fries absolutely loaded and flavorful. The meat was tender, crispy on the edges, and freshly carved right in front of us at the taquero window. Loved the setup: you order at the register, then take your receipt to the window where everything is made to order. Super fresh, super satisfying. After discovering this spot we do not get tacos anywhere else. These food here is so fresh and authentic. There is a wide array of choices, from tacos, burritos, queso tacos, birrias and more! There's also many different Agua Frescas. There are two lines- one to order and one to pick up food. When you get to the front they'll ask you what you'd like on your meals. Great, great, great tacos. I only ordered tacos ($3.75 each) and they were very good. I got a carne asada, adobada, and cabeza taco, which came with guac, onion cilantro, salsa, and protected with double tortillas. Carne asada was the best, then cabeza, and then adobada. These tacos had that smoky flavor you like on street tacos, which is oftentimes missing in brick and mortar taquerias. The carne asada and adobada was marinated and seasoned very well and deeply. There was a depth of flavor that ascended past just salt and fat. The cabeza was super juicy and fatty, more on the salty side if you are into that. Cabeza is more of a softer, rendered meat so don't be alarmed when you order it. Service was good, and it was decently timed. You order at the register, then pickup at a window. Very clean and ample seating at this location. On tacos alone, I'm very impressed and these were super delicious. I'll definitely come back because they have that secret marination down. read more

I feel like this location is a bit underrated because everything from the service to the food quality was top-notch. We ordered food last night and honestly won't be going back. The quesadilla was supposed to have asada, but it was mostly chewy fat--pretty disappointing and not appetizing at all. We saved the leftovers for lunch, opened it up today, and it was full of fat. Definitely not the quality we expected. The carnitas tasted good and had decent flavor. They had a cheddar cheese sauce ( maybe home made?) but reminded him of nacho cheese sauce - he's not a fan. He said they were good but not great. Service was quick and efficient. Shop was clean and empty at 1pm on a Saturday. I had several different flavored street tacos- asada and chicken. Both were decently flavored and tasted good. The addition of their salsa made everything brighten up and sing in my mouth. Out friends loved their four tacos a piece and swore these were the best tacos they have ever had. I strongly advise against hosting fundraising events here. Despite our congregation being loyal customers, our partnership was a disaster. After bringing in 50 people for an event, management completely ghosted us after the event. Our calls were never returned, and we never received the promised donation. The staff lacked organization, the food quality was subpar, cleanliness wasn't met at the salsa bar and dinning area, and the experience felt predatory-the owners/management even tried to pressure us into hosting the same fundraiser event being at two places at once at their new cafe before even knowing if the fundraiser would pan out. Lime plentiful. The drinks were the most expensive item on my order. Going on Tuesday and Thursday. Tacos are 1.99 each!! My Agua fresco was $6.29. This place. Best tacos in the area for sure! We use to go at least once every week. Unfortunately for me the ambience is key, and some months ago I was noticing that the noise level is just out of control. The music is so loud that you can't talk, no matter if you are inside or outside. We used to go late, so we just think that it was a "friendly" way to say "We're closing soon" but I went on a lunch time and the music level was very annoying too.
