This is my first time trying out Los Tacos. I picked up a Porko Verde burrito to go. It was amazing. Great flavor and big. Two meals for me. These guys really let me down. First time ordering from them and when I opened the box after I left? I mean, look at the picture attached...... it's sloppy as hell, I ordered 3 chicken tacos and they gave me fish (what if I was allergic?), they charged me $15 for tennis ball sized tortillas with the ingredients just thrown all over the top of them sloppily. Then when I brought it back inside and addressed the issue.... the cashier, line cook, and manager all just stood there and said nothing. Pathetic and shameful to say the least. The best part is the salsa bar with an assortment of delicious, freshly made salsas, including pickled carrots & jalapeño and charred peppers. I'm a fan! I wanted some quick tacos before our Airbnb check-in and I looked on Yelp and found this little gem. The reviews are spot on, this place is very good! I'm from Oxnard and we think we have some of the best Mexican food but the San Diego area has some pretty good Mexican food being that it's so close to Mexico. The place is small but nice and clean. They have a glass section where you can see them preparing the food as you wait. The guy at the register was very cool letting me know that if I purchased three tacos I could get rice and Ben's for free. I decided to go with three Al pastor tacos and I must say, these may have been the best Al pastor tacos I've ever had. They shaved the meat off the vertical broiler, so the meat was super tender and they added not chunks of pineapple but a nice size slice. The tamarind fresca was fresh and delicious as well. The food was prepared quick, had an authentic taste and you can always tell what type of place you are eating at by the type of people who come into the restaurant. They looked like locals that were getting to go orders and dining in. Overall, I WILL be back when in the area and I think it is a food chain so I'll give it a shot elsewhere too. I ordered the Al Pastor Burrito with everything. The Pastor was so delicious and fresh tasting. There was meat in every bite all the way down to the last bite. This might be the BEST PASTOR I've ever had. It was perfectly cooked with a pineapple on top while roasting. They freshly slice the Pastor to add it to my burrito. I watched them cut the meat after I placed the order. It was a Thursday evening and they said there was a special price on their Fish Tacos, so I ordered 4 of those beautifully made fried fish tacos. Everything was very delicious and priced affordably. I love their salsa bar, I should have taken a picture of it, but there were descriptions of each salsa so there wasn't any guessing on what I was getting. All the salsas were very good, one with a Smokey taste had some heat and went well with everything. I think my favorite salsa was the guacamole salsa. Mmmmm I can't wait to go back again!! The proteins are so flavorful! They have an amazing variety of salsas too (about 6 or so!) and the crunch spicy carrots are perfect. Been coming to the original Los Tacos location since it opened many years ago. The food is still consistently good, the service on point and they've got the best (in terms of variety, taste and freshness) salsa bar of any taco shop. I typically get the Spicy Surf and Turf Burrito with a couple of Pastor Tacos. Both so good! There are a few tables inside and outside but definitely not a place for groups larger than 4. They have a decent sized parking lot shared with Submarina, Brooklyn Boyz Pizza and a couple other places. read more

As soon as I walked in to this spot, I knew it was going to be great. The workers were grilling meats and making tortillas when I arrived. The workers greeted me in Spanish and I felt at home. I ordered three carnitas and three carne asada tacos for their Taco Tuesday Specials. I also got an horchata to complement the meal. The tacos were packed with flavor! The carne asada was delicious and the carnitas were so tender and juicy. They have a full salsa bar and all the salsa were fantastic. They also had pickled carrots and grilled jalapeños. I love how many salsas they have and the flavor on the tacos was the best I have had in a long time! The workers are friendly and create a welcoming environment. The food was excellent! The service above and beyond. Birria tacos with consommé were super beefy! Grilled fish taco was tender juicy and sweet, perfect bite with the fresh tortilla and slaw! Al pastor was super flavorful and juicy! Quesadillas were well done! Burritos giant! On top of great food the sweet lady taking our order was so genuinely sweet. She told me I didn't have to feel rushed when ordering as that causes stress and we all carry too much stress. And it was not necessary to be stressed here! I love her! Swung by Sunday lunch and Los Tacos was already packed - and rightfully so!!! Inside/outside - 4/5 Lots of seats inside, both booth and high top. Couple umbrella-shaded tables outside. Chairs were comfy enough. Sauce and soda stations in the back near the bathroom. My only gripe, which this is hard to fix at this point, is the order line wrapped towards the entrance which makes it tough for people to move about. Nonetheless staff and customers were respectful and polite. Customer Service - 5/5 Staff here were just in a good mood and on top of everything. From cleaning the shop, restocking the sauce station, and helping customers - the staff were very attentive, helpful and made conversation with everyone. Food - 5/5 Wow was I blown away by the food. I initially got sticker shock, but the amount of food you get in each order was great. We ordered, The Local Burrito, Fish Taco and Veggie Burrito. Tortillas were crisp and fresh. Meat (or veggies) were moist and tender. And the sauce/salsas just popped. The burritos were so huge, we saved half for lunch the next day. I ordered a basic shredded beef taco asking for the tortilla to not be fried for too long because I have a sensitive teeth issue. We absolutely LOVE coming here for Taco Tuesday and really just any other day too lol. Some of the best Al Pastor tacos for a great price in north county. Bring cash as they have free chips if you pay in cash (I think over $10). The quesadillas are HUGE so if you order those know you can probably split with someone else (or not!).
