Had the deli turkey on marble rye and a Reuben on sourdough--both were super tasty and perfectly made. Great bread, great flavors, and fast, friendly service. Grabbed the banana bread to go and it was delicious. Definitely stopping back next time we're in Bryan.

Received extremely friendly service when I ordered at the counter. We got the Richie rich and lox of love. I preferred the lox of love. I've been to the store twice. Once it was super busy and I barely had room to stand and this time there were a few open tables and plenty of standing room. I would plan on ordering to go if you get easily anxious in tight spaces to be on the safe side, but the restaurant and tables were clean if you choose to dine in.

I had the Richie Rich on a Plain Bagel. It was tasty with a healthy portion of bacon. It did leave a greasy aftertaste but overall good. The service felt rushed. It was around lunch time so I can understand it being packed but it was too much for me. You order at the counter. I recommend reviewing the menu before coming to the counter. I felt like I barely had time to look at the menu before I felt the irritation radiating off the server. Once I paid, I had to awkwardly move around to find a space to stand as I waited for my order. I usually sit down after I order but there was nowhere to sit that was easily accessible. The tables were crowded together in awkward formation. Now, back to the food. I left to eat my bagel in the car and again it was tasty but not worth the hassle. I paid restaurant prices for a fast food experience. If that's your vibes, this is definitely the place for you.

The bagels here were incredible. It took a while to get the food but once we got them, they were phenomenal. The bacon was fresh, the bagels were fluffy, and the egg was runny. The lox bagel was also very welll made. Highly recommend this place.

My family and I visited Zeitman's Grocery Store this past Sunday morning and, unfortunately, had an experience that left us very disappointed. My wife and I have both been to Zeitman's before, and as members of the Bryan Ambassador Program, we try to do all our early morning dates and about 80 percent of our date nights downtown. Sadly, this visit has changed our opinion of this particular spot. Normally I would give a business the benefit of the doubt, but after two days of thinking on it I just can't accept the fact that my wife and I were disrespected in a way that frankly I wouldn't be ok with from a random person on the street, much less someone I'm looking to purchase something from. We arrived with our two kids, my mother-in-law, and sister-in-law, excited to share one of our favorite local spots. When we approached the counter to order, the employee taking our order seemed visibly annoyed and dismissive from the start. While I managed to order for myself and my oldest son without too much issue, things took a turn when my wife began to place her order. She simply asked if they offered anything like a breakfast sandwiches -- a reasonable question considering the layout of the menu could easily cause confusion. The cashier abruptly responded, "These are all breakfast sandwiches," in a sharp, impatient tone. Trying to clarify, my wife then asked if the Richie Rich came with just bacon. The cashier snapped back, "They all come with eggs and cheddar cheese on it." My wife, annoyed at this point replied that the menu didn't specify that information. Instead of clarifying calmly, the cashier loudly insisted, "Yes, it does!" Frustrated but composed, my wife said, "Never mind, I'm okay," and began to step away. At that point, the employee continued shouting across the busy shop, "I'm just trying to help you," still with the same attitude drawing unwanted attention and making the entire situation uncomfortable for everyone present. This exchange not only embarrassed my wife in front of our family and other customers but also completely soured what should have been a pleasant Sunday breakfast. Customer service is about creating a welcoming atmosphere especially in a small, community-oriented establishment. Instead, we left feeling disrespected and unwelcome. Unfortunately, this interaction lost the business of six people that day, and likely for good. We genuinely hope the owners address this issue so that future customers receive the friendly service that local businesses like Zeitman's are known for, because this was not it.

First, I had a potentially complicated order and the lady that took my order was very careful and sweet about it. They had a huge crowd but did not seem overwhelmed at all. My dad asked about additional seating and the lady helped us move tables and chairs so that we had a place to sit. Basically, they were the nicest and very accommodating. The sandwiches were delicious.

The pizza and Reuben were great tasting! I got the corned beef version and it was really good, though next time I will ask for additional sauce on the side to dip in. The pizza was also very tasty. The service was fine, just order and sit. Not a lot of seating but very casual easy ambiance. Several were studying. Definitely worth a stop if you want to try a good reuben or have some good pizza

Zeitman's is absolutely amazing!!! Their sandwiches are insanely delicious. They are packed full of goodness and I find myself craving them on the regular. Their chips are so good and unique!!! They also have some amazing baked goods. The workers are kind, welcoming and the service is excellent! One of the best places in the CS/B area!!!

We stopped in at Zeitman's for breakfast. We were greeted immediately by a friendly staff member who took our order. She then answered questions we had about some other items for sale in the store (i.e., those giant cinnamon rolls). We ordered toasted blueberry bagels with cream cheese. They came out just a few minutes after we ordered and were nicely toasted with a nice chew. The cream cheese was enough but not too much. Really good! The store's ambiance feels like part grocery store, part New York Deli. It's neat that so many generations have kept it going. We'll be back when we're in College Station again.

Zeitman's Grocery never fails to amaze me! Not only do they have the best bagels in town, but their deli is great too. When you walk inside, you're met with the delicious smell of cheesesteak and some beautiful jazz music. It's a really nice environment to eat in. If you're coming in here for the first time, make sure to pick up an Italian Grinder. It will change your life forever. If you order a deli sandwich you get a feee chip bag of your choice. I highly recommend Zeitman's to anyone passing through the Bryan/College Station area! read more

Amazing sandwiches and super nice people. We're in from out of town so we go on "culinary adventures". The reviews were good so we took a chance. This place did not disappoint. The italian grinder was wonderful. Just the right amount of tangy and savory. Pleanty of meat... It reminds me of the old school sandwich shops that are those hidden gems in town. There isn't a thing that I have tried at Zeitman's that hasn't been tasty, and I come in pretty often despite it being a little far from me. Their Bugsy was amazing, their Lox bagel is a delicious beast, and their daily bread is dangerously addictive. The clincher is the service. Everyone there is SO nice and helpful and welcoming. I'm just gushing now, but it's all 100% true. read more

Had lunch here today. Sandwiches were amazing. Tried the Italian grinder with zombie chips and the baked potato potato salad. Everything was delicious! The black and white cookie was huge and delicious as well. I took a pic of the cinnamon rolls but did not have one. Next time I will. read more

Zeitman's is an excellent little deli. Everyone was very friendly and the service was fast. The pastrami Reuben had great flavor and was very meaty. The Italian grinder was practically perfect. The lox bagel and the Israeli bagel were both tasty, and the bagels themselves are great. The black and white cookies are extremely sweet, but have a wonderful almond flavor. The cinnamon rolls are huge, but very reasonably priced, and though the icing is a bit light on flavor, the bread part is extremely good with a very nice cinnamon flavor. read more

This place is SO GOOD!! We read about them online and gave them a try! My son and husband loved it too! The Chopped cheese is AMAZING! The prices are fair and you get a healthy portion of food. They have lots of sandwiches that are delicious and fresh. The cookies were super good and fresh as well. I thought their chocolate chip was the best I ever had and the black and white was amazing too. We recommended some friends to go there and they loved it too, but the chocolate chip cookies weren't quite as good that day. They may have different bakers doing them. All that to say this is a great small business to try and their staff was friendly and helpful as well which is rare these days. read more

This place is a hidden gem in the BCS area. Their bagel is the authentic NY style bagel - crispy on the outside and chewy inside. I've tried the bacon breakfast bagel and the pork roll one. Both are so good! Portion size is very generous, and the ingredients are very fresh! This is now a new favorite of the family. Highly recommend!!! read more

One of the best sandwiches I ever had! Me being a first timer, I was greeted and assisted by the wonderful cashiers. Service is A1! The ambiance is like an old style deli that could be right in NY or in this, Texas!! My sandwich was the Italian hero. Pretty good pepperoni and salami! I need to do better with pictures. Sorry y'all, I'll be too hungry to take pictures lol! Overall, great place! I need to try their NY inspired chop cheese. I'll have a separate review for that soon! When we come to Bryan Texas this is the place we want to go for everything. We usually stay out in a cabin for the weekend when we visit and just want to chill. We get breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert here. Their bagels are fresh and delicious, we get everything, plain and cheese. Can't go wrong with any of them though. Lunch is pizza for my husband and Ruben sandwich for me. Our two favorite items! Who knew a deli had great pizza?! Dessert we had a chocolate cheesecake. That was freaking delicious! We highly recommend you try this place. Not only is the staff great, a the place is clean, the food is fantastic! You won't be disappointed! read more

I don't have anything funny to say this is just the best place to eat downtown. Other downtown breakfast places BS you with artsy quirky decor to distract you from how bad their food and service is but this is the complete opposite of that. You go to the counter you meet an exceedingly friendly person on the other end (not singling any one employee out bc they're ALL like that) you order a bagel you also maybe get a baked good and then you eat the best bagel you've ever had in this town. It's as simple as that. everyone working there is professional and experienced and you can definitely taste that in the food. They've got an interesting selection of craft sodas and coffee drinks, including this brand of canned cold brew called Snow Caps that taste really good. My go-to order is a fruit-of-the-day bagel with lemon blueberry cream cheese. It's all delicious. read more

When I was a kid, there was a tv ad for a rye bread that began "You don't have to be Jewish to enjoy..." And so with this place. I love lox and bagels. There is no version of that around as good as this. Their bagels are objectively the best around. The lox is better then anything else in town. You want their house made cream cheese. Little secret: the bags of "Zeitman's Blend" coffee beans they sell are fantastic. It's my morning house brew now. Friends went delirious over their house made pastrami and as soon as I lose a portion of the pandemic weight gain, I am all over that. About the rugelach pastries: addictive doesn't begin to cover it. And the challah bread ok I'll stop now. read more

This place is IT! Someone posted about this place on Facebook and I had to try it. They were so inviting as soon as I walked in. I had no idea what to get but the sweet girl working the grill part went through each item so I knew what was what. I went with the chopped cheese and it was DELICIOUS!! Went for the first time today to get two sandwiches, corned beef and pastrami. Got them Ruben style and they were DELICIOUS! People were very friendly and helpful. Also got one of the apple pecan muffin, so moist and delicious. Will be go back. Big selection of bagels too and other deserts. read more

I really wanted to like the bagels I've had there - tried twice. One was better than the other but I went yesterday and 3 people touched my bagel with ungloved hands before it was buttered. It sat on the top of a counter, on the paper receipt. I watched people touch their face, mouth and nose and then the bagels about to be served. I couldn't do it and left. They aren't east coast, but I don't live here to be east coast. I'm not sure it's a boiled bagel, and I think they needed to be baked longer because they are anemic looking- but I could deal with that, but in these pandemic times the bare hand thing got to me.... read more

I had a few basic questions about their products and pricing, and it felt like I was inconveniencing the staff just by asking. There was little effort to explain options or provide recommendations. The store itself also seemed disorganized and not as clean as I would expect from a meat market. The display cases didn't look well-maintained, and some products appeared poorly labeled, making it hard to tell what I was purchasing. On top of that, the pricing didn't reflect the level of quality or service provided. I expected better overall professionalism and attention to detail. Based on this visit, I wouldn't return or recommend it to others unless significant improvements are made in customer service and store upkeep.

The crust has a chew to it that is firm but gives way soon enough after biting. What it gives way to is a crumb that is soft, textured and smells like a double dose of sourdough yeast. The starter is at least 25 years old and boy howdy, it really packs a punch. So much so, I asked an employee there if they sold starter. I would have bought some to use and grow at home. Enough about their star item ... let's go over the lunch I enjoyed there yesterday (15May26, got a free cookie on their birthday). I had their Crawfish Mac and Cheese in a bread bowl. The pasta was curly and cooked al-dente, as any pasta should be. The pieces of crawfish had a slight, very slight dusting of bread crumbs on them that added a nice texture to the forkful of pasta and creamy cheesiness that is a hallmark of mac n cheese. Needless to say, I managed to finish the contents of the bowl (the plug of bread removed is also served) and about half of the wonderful bread bowl before forcing myself to just stop. The remains were dutifully doggie bagged and brought with me as a snack to be enjoyed on the drive home. I will be in College Station many times over the next four years and when there, Blue Baker is definitely on my list of places to get great bread and a good lunch. Zeiman's in downtown Bryan is a true gem that just keeps shining brighter! Stopped by this morning and was thrilled to discover their new offering: pancakes. These aren't just any pancakes--they're soft, light, and perfectly salty, easily landing in my top three ever. They're so good, I'd skip the iconic Richie Rich without hesitation. Paired with their strong, robust coffee and lightning-fast service, it's a breakfast experience that hits all the right spots.
