As I observed the room, the tables around us were getting really attentive service. Refills galore, conversation... I had to go to the counter to refill my coffee as I saw a server walk past our table and refill the cups at the window while ours remained empty. I got up, walked past all the servers and went to the counter where I got my first cup of coffee. After a while without anyone checking on us (again, all other tables were getting some really good 5 star service) I went to the counter to get a refill of water (empty) and a young girl who I overheard said she just graduated from high school stopped me and asked if I needed a refill. She was your bright spot. The rest of the staff just stood talking as u walked past them. It wasn't even busy. As I saw tables about to leave they were offered a cup of coffee to go. The pasta was curly and cooked al-dente, as any pasta should be. The pieces of crawfish had a slight, very slight dusting of bread crumbs on them that added a nice texture to the forkful of pasta and creamy cheesiness that is a hallmark of mac n cheese. Needless to say, I managed to finish the contents of the bowl (the plug of bread removed is also served) and about half of the wonderful bread bowl before forcing myself to just stop. The remains were dutifully doggie bagged and brought with me as a snack to be enjoyed on the drive home. I will be in College Station many times over the next four years and when there, Blue Baker is definitely on my list of places to get great bread and a good lunch.
