I came here on a Tuesday to try the Thriftshop burger for $3! The staff is really helpful and efficient, even though there's a lot of customers.The setting was bustling but it was pretty clean for a fast-food restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised. We had burgers and one of their specialty burger that had jalapeños and queso. It was really good. I also loved how the buns were not too thick and the texture was soft and fresh. The fries had a nice potato flavor that I noticed enough to point out. I'm a fry lover but there were extra flavorful. Also have a hand spun chocolate shake. Abd I liked it because they didn't put so much chocolate in it tray you felt like you were eating a chocolate bar. It was perfect. We don't live here so just found on yelp passing through town. We would definitely stop here again. Cashiers also has great attitudes. So many times you can tell they hate their jobs. October 29, 2022 Came to town from Beaumont via Galveston for the A & M vs Ole Miss football game tonight. Meeting friends coming from Tyler who are flying into astin aviation (airport) for drinks and giving me a parking pass for E lot. We stopped here because it was 1 mile from the airport and had an early dinner. This burger joint is in a small strip center connected to campus corner mini mart , gas station, etc We got the " love shack burger" which had beef patty, ham, & egg... really tasty. (friend had the same plus some FF, they were ok, needed salt. We both got fountain drinks from an old soda company called, "Boots" from Belleville, TX; they use pure cane sugar, gluten free, and all kinds of flavors such as: red hots, dreamsicle, lemon meringue, etc I had cola, my friend had dreamsicle, both yum! read more

Mojo slots in nicely between the standard fast-food burgers and the more high-falutin' establishments. What Mojo does best is cook a credible smashed burger patty at a reasonable price. Last visit, I got the queso-and-jalapeno-juiced Rebel Yell, and while it was very good, by the end it was such a mess that it was closer to a casserole than a burger. I'd recommend a more basic cheeseburger or the like, simply because it gives those patties their due. Personal opinion (though I don't rule out another Rebel Yell in the future). I had the GOAT, it's a bad choice. Goat cheese, beef patty and onion ring seemed like a wrong match. the onion is hard, not crispy. Beef patty just average, goat cheese is the culprit, spoiled the whole meal. it's not smooth and have a weird texture. they named their soda in a fancy name, it's just a normal soda, too sweet. the only good stuff is the fries. read more

I don't get the bad reviews of Burger Mojo. The Burger Mojo on University Ave is one of the best "wacko-dacko" hamburger places in Texas. The burgers are fiercely original and first rate. Execution is slightly worse at the 2818 location - but not by much. The room is darker and more depressing. The menu is first rate. The burgers are first rate. Now one reviewer DID catch a manager being a jerk to a bunch of workers. I would have fried the manager for doing what was reported in that review, if I had seen that as a customer. But I saw nothing but people being nice to other people. Those nice people were serving great burgers. I DO hate the room ... a simple fact of life. But I love watching CHIVE TV which is kind of a compensation for the interior decoration. And if I am going to eat a 1550 calorie burger, Burger Mojo's is the place where I want to get all that crazy stuff piled up to infinity on my bun. read more
