3rd on Main is a great hidden gem in the historic district of downtown Bryan. They are somewhat obstructed from view from the street by a large tree, so they may not be so easy to spot be accident. We were visiting from out of town and I located them using Yelp. I wasn't disappointed. The area is beautiful! The ambiance of the dining area is simple and tactfully decorated and the chairs, comfortable. Our sever was happy and upbeat and the managing owner checked in on us frequently to make sure that we were taken good care of. A sure sign that they care about their customers. There menu is interesting with a creative twist on breakfast/brunch fare. I had really good breakfast tacos with a small black bean side. To be honest, I am not a black bean fan but really enjoyed these! The home fries were also very satisfying. They also offered cornbread pancakes that were really something special. The manager said that it was their own take on pancakes and Johnny cakes. My whole crew enjoyed everything! The whole experience was really pleasant and plan to visit again next time I am in town. Friendly staff. Bourbon chicken sandwich was good. I shared with a friend and they brought it out on 2 plates and split the French fries too. It was all plenty for the two of us. We stopped in before the rush, expecting a smooth experience, but unfortunately, it was far from that. As first-time visitors, we were surprised by how unhelpful and, frankly, rude the staff were. We paid $7 for a side of potatoes that never came out with the rest of our meal. When I asked about it, the response from the staff member was surprisingly rude. The drinks were placed on the counter when we ordered, but no one informed us of this system--luckily, I noticed and grabbed mine. However, my coffee never appeared. When I asked about it, a staff member snapped at me, insisting I should have already picked it up--even though it hadn't even been made. As for the food, the eggs were so poorly cooked that we couldn't eat them. Overall, the experience--from the service to the food--left a lot to be desired. We won't be returning. read more

Food: Bacon Avocado Burger was good. Sweet Tea: was not sweet. Had an odd taste. Asked the waitress about it and still didn't get a replacement. Ambiance: cozy. Cute little Condiment Bar. My party of 4 walked in and seated ourselves not knowing to walk up to the kiosk with menus to order. The atmosphere is casual and the demographic of the staff and customers were not the same as our party but were welcoming just the same. The food was good and the mimosas were even better. They couldn't accommodate my order of egg whites but it was no big deal. We order the basic, the morning after, the bacon boss and the night before. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meal. There was a little wait that we questioned but then realized the people before us hadn't received their food either. Not sure if we will be back because there's so many brunch spots in the area. A great breakfast spot to visit if you're in the area. The chicken and waffles was delicious, the waffle was slightly crispy and the chicken itself was very well seasoned. Overall it was a good meal. The Italian sausage bowl was also well seasoned and delicious. It comes with queso instead of shredded cheese on top which was something new I've never had and I was pleasantly surprised. It came with two tortillas so you could make your own tacos and still have plenty leftover. The portion was surprisingly pretty big. Second time eating here. Food is pretty good though my waffle was cold. Staff is very rude - my dad ordered a burger with cheese but did not receive it with cheese. When he asked about it, the server scoffed and was very rude. We overheard a young man asking if the tables were first come, first serve, and the employee responded by saying, "Absolutely not, I'll assign you a table." As a server picked up our plates the second we finished eating she said, "I'm going to need y'all to head out as soon as you can". We also witnessed her rush another group out. All I have to say is wow oh wow! It was yummy! We first walked in and loved how you order and then sit. That helps with quick service! The setup walking in was cute and organized. The staff that took the order was friendly and patient and very informative on all our questions. I ordered the pulled pork from the taco breakfast. I think out of the whole dish the corn flour tortilla was my favorite. It had a sweet cornmeal taste. The dish is topped with pork and over-easy eggs which went well together. Fyi, they didn't overcook the egg yolk! My munchkin ordered chicken and waffles. The waffles had the perfect softness inside but a nice crisp crust outside with the right sweetness. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and juicy when bitten into. Whoever was the morning cook this day, perfecto! My husband had the veggie bowl. I'm going to be honest, it was like any other place. Nothing to shout out about. It was good, cooked well, and he enjoyed it with no complaints. That says enough. Yelp comes through for us again!! Came through town on a business errand and had lunch here. Chicken tenders and fries were quite good, especially for price. Good ratio of batter to white meat that was still juicy with a true crunch on the breading and layers of flavor. The cornbread was a bit softer, more like a steamed consistency, than I was expecting but was enjoyable. My table mates had the bacon jam burger and fries and my young adult son had a pancake he can't remember the name of but said it was the best he's ever had and why can't this place be in Houston. The real star here like OMG was the chili cheese fries appetizer. Unreal flavor and well dressed without being greasy or messy. My husband asked if the chili was homemade (it tasted that fresh and amazing) and it is. We cleaned the plate and my son almost fought me for the last forkful. I would come back here for those alone. 9-11-19: First visit to 3rd On Main Kitchen with my family. My daughter found them on Yelp. It's definitely a two thumbs up diner in downtown Bryan. Pick up a menu at the front then order at the counter before seating yourself. I ordered the Waffles and chicken. Freshly hand breaded chicken tenders (4) and a super fluffy waffle quartered and lightly dusted with powered sugar. My wife ordered the Bacon Jam Burger without the bun. Large beef patty topped with a fried egg. The bacon jam had an amazing flavor. The beef patty was perfectly cooked and juicy. It came with country potatoes that were cooked just right and just sprinkled with salt. Very nice. My daughter ordered the 'The Morning After' which is pulled pork covering cornbread pancakes and topped with a fried egg. Delicious! I'll be back here on my next visit. 3rd On. Had to wait for campers to leave to get a seat. Many people left because the line wasn't moving. Got the chili bowl, had a weird flavor to me. Wasn't a fan. The cornbread pancakes saved the meal. UPDATE! My last review was not so favorable, after a horrible 50+ min wait for my food. Since then, they've definitely improved their team training and service. We've been back twice and both times the staff have been super friendly and helpful in finding a table when full. They've definitely stepped up their kitchen, in terms of getting food out quickly and timely. Their meals are smaller portions, but still reasonable. The cornbread pancakes have become my fave, especially since the waffle during my previous visit was a little too chewy. The bacon that comes with it is pretty small in terms of portion size so don't expect some thick cut slices! read more
