UPDATE! My last review was not so favorable, after a horrible 50+ min wait for my food. Since then, they've definitely improved their team training and service. We've been back twice and both times the staff have been super friendly and helpful in finding a table when full. They've definitely stepped up their kitchen, in terms of getting food out quickly and timely. Their meals are smaller portions, but still reasonable. The cornbread pancakes have become my fave, especially since the waffle during my previous visit was a little too chewy. The bacon that comes with it is pretty small in terms of portion size so don't expect some thick cut slices! read more

I've been here for brunch and lunch. Seating is limited but I do like the order at the counter model. It gets especially crowded on the weekends during brunch time; had to wait about 40 min for the food to come out. I had the bacon jam burger and it was delicious. When I did lunch, I had the pig and chicken salad (I think that's what it was called?) - chicken tenders and bacon. Large portion and much quicker service when it isn't peak time. read more

The food was Amazing and came out very quickly. My husband had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was crispy and juicy and the waffle was perfectly cooked. Nice small restaurant with tasty food and fresh ingredients. It is counter service to order, then you grab a seat and a server brings your order to you. I can see the potential for long waits during peak hours. We were there at lunch. The Texas chili dog was very tasty with nice home style fries. Skinny with the skin on which was a treat. The pulled pork fries looked good but I was too full to try my partner's leftovers. A lot of folks were eating salads served in large stainless mixing bowls. Prices are reasonable. This spot had for the most part very delicious food! They accommodated for our table of 9 outside which was awesome since it was great weather and COVID. There was technical difficulty which made us get our food way later than everyone else which was irksome but the food was great! The menu was overall decently priced and also had some unique items. "The morning after" dish I got was amazing with the cornbread pancakes! Combined with eggs and cheese it was on point. The potatoes are also VERY crispy. Not soggy at all. My dish and cheesy grits (so yummy) were 10/10! The chicken and waffles my fiancé got was OK. Not the best, honestly prefer mess over this place for chicken and waffles, but still overall a great place for brunch! Side note: if you eat outside, the train is FURIOUSLY loud. Lol. They have a QC code that links you to the menu so you don't have to worry about that in these times. The seating indoors has been accommodating to social distancing requirements. There is also outdoor seating which the majority of my family opted for. Some in the group enjoyed a Sunday brunch mixed beverage & had no complaints. The staff were all friendly, inviting & as accommodating as needed. I ordered the chicken tenders & waffles. It was decent, nothing to write home about. Their breakfast burger which a few around me ordered seemed amazing & they all loved it! Next trip up I would definitely get that. Stopped in for lunch a few days ago and the whole vibe of the place was laid back and comfortable. With a lot of incredibly tempting items on the menu it was hard to choose, but I tried The Night Before and it was absolutely one of the best comfort food dishes that I've had in ages. Loved it! I've seen the poor reviews and don't understand them with the exception of one of them. It's an order at the front then sit dinner. Sometimes thats difficult with large parties. They mainly sit 2 and 4 tops. We had a party of 7 and we were elbow to elbow. The staff is friendly, fast and efficient. The menu is simple and spot on. Breakfast on one side, lunch and dinner on the other. They do serve alcohol. I found myself second guessing what I wanted for my first trip. Tip: preview the menu before you go, the line moves fast. We got the kids corn dog meal, chicken tender meal, chicken and waffles, The Morning After, and the Whiskey chicken sandwich. When they sell a shirt for a menu item it had better want you to buy the shirt. The Morning After is the item you must have. We did our eggs over medium. They were cooked perfectly. That whole meal is insane. I will get it again, and again, and again. The chicken tenders were dry and tough. My son wasn't a big fan until he got a side of homemade ranch. That ranch was killer. The waffle is a cake waffle, oh man, so good! My daughter consumed her corn dog, hard to mess that up. I wasn't impressed with the whiskey chicken sandwich. Bread was great, chicken was a little underwhelming. The fries were delicious! I liked the corn meal pancakes. Why the 5 stars. I was craving chicken and waffles and since I was in town, I decided to pay this place a visit. I've had some darn good chicken and waffles in my day and on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best ever, I would rate this one a 3. The waffles wasn't as crispy and flaky as I would have liked. And it had a bit of a "doughy" taste rather than a sweet one. The chicken strips were seasoned well. I would have liked them better if there were not fried as hard so they would have been juicy - but they still had a good flavor. The staff here was friendly and the food came out timely. As I walk in I'm greeted with the most unwelcoming "what do you want" and I promptly ordered an Italian sausage bowl and a coffee. Almost half of the tables haven't been cleared from the customers previous while staff members are talking and scrolling through their phones. Within a minute or so of sitting down I get brought a bowl of 85% liquid egg, 14% undercooked sausage and 1% tasteless cheese. As I'm eating my slop I realize my coffee never came out, and I ask a server about it and she says she'll bring it, never does. I then have to walk up to the counter to make an inquiry, and the server begins to spurt out the last of a gallon container, realizing they're out of coffee. At noon on a Sunday. She then says she'll make a fresh batch, which I wait patiently for for 5 minutes after I've finished eating. It never came. I've never seen such a pure lack of professionalism in my life. I went to 3rd on Main on a Sunday, so there was no question as to why it was more crowded than normal. Our meal was well priced, and after about 30 min we were given our food. YUM! Everything came out fresh and tasted excellent. The Italian fries did not come out with eggs, but we mentioned it to the server and she brought them out promptly. Ventured downtown to try the place out. Menu appeared interesting. I had the Bacon Bowl and a side of Cornbread Pancakes. The Bacon Bowl arrived in a small stainless prep bowl / dog bowl. Not very pleasing to the eye as practical as it may be for the staff. Nothing to write home about. Salsa added flavor. The Cornbread Pancakes were small and pretty thin. They arrived upon a small, shapeless stainless steel plate as well, which had zero capability to keep any syrup from flowing onto the table. Nice flavor to them, just too small and thin to be considered a dish. No one checked on me while I dined. Had to ask for a coffee refill from someone clearing my table. Older gentleman came out from the back, greeting one table of regulars but no one else. I'm so happy that there's a place to eat when staying across the street at the LaSalle Hotel. Since the hotel doesn't have breakfast or lunch I always have to go somewhere in the car or order through Favor & that can get expensive. I visited last Monday & they have $2 off burgers after 5PM. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries. The burger was great and the fries were amazing! They're very friendly and the place was immaculate. I also really enjoyed the music. Tuesday morning I walked over for breakfast. I had scrambled eggs, bacon, & potatoes. It was really good, but I'm not a fan of their potatoes. Not a big deal, I didn't need them anyway. This place was great! The burgers were hot and on point. The owner was friendly and allowed us to sample the cornbread which was also delicious. The food took about 15 minutes to come out and when it did, everything was presented nice. The hamburger meat itself was not overly spiced so you could get a good taste of the actual meat.
