My grandma and i went to get an early breakfast here this past sunday and they did not disappoint! immediately when we got there, we were greeted and seated. There is indoor seating, as well as outdoor seating and the overall ambiance is quiet and cozy. The waitlist system is annoying here. I was quoted 1 hour to an hour 20 minutes when I got on the waitlist online. Totally fine. Only when we got there an hour and 20 minutes later, while the app had us in the "15 more minutes" category, the hostess said it would still be an hour. I don't mind waiting the quoted time at all... but there's no reason you should get an initial quote and a live "waitlist status" that are BOTH over an hour off. The online waitlist status was moving slower than the initial quote so I figured it was being informed by the number of people on the list and was accurate. Again... I do not mind waiting. I get that online waitlists are soft estimates. But if it's THAT off it's basically just useless. There are many other very busy if not busier places in town with reliable wait estimates that we frequently have good experiences with. read more

So out of perversity I had the bacon cheeseburger and a glass of ice water. I have had better bacon cheeseburgers - but this was good enough. I was well fed for the rest of the day. It was the right day for starting with a huge plate of something. We ordered the Biscuit and Gravy with grits (pretty delicious especially the gravy and the bacon grits), Chicken and Waffles (really delicious), and the Bourbon Street pancakes (really sweet and delicious). We ordered some coffee as well, but nothing special about it. The parking lot is large. The staff are friendly and fast. This has become our go to brunch spot. The set up is pretty typical for most restaurants, with a host stand and folks waiting. I definitely recommend taking advantage of the Yelp wait line on weekends if you really want a table. The hosts vary in terms of service. Who does that?! I guess the secrets out now! I was also a bit surprised by how underutilized the patio space is. Tons of space for more tables and outdoor seating. The food is generally pretty decent, having tried everything from the chicken and waffles to the shrimp Benedict. From sweet to savory, it's all good. Prices are typical for most brunch places, averaging between $10-18 per plate. If you're looking for cheap, brunch ain't it...try a diner, Dennys or IHOP. Drinks are pretty standard...I mean if you've had one mimosa or Bloody Mary, you've had them all. The coffee is also decent, mainly bc the water here strips it if all it's potential flavor! Brunch on a Sunday morning July year of the crazy pandemic! Picked up food, had the Sunrise Spinach Omelet (shell egg) substituted the bacon for asparagus with tasty home fries and an english muffin. Check out the website the traditional and vegetarian menus are a welcomed challenge of discipline! I love that the restaurant is doing its part with a desire to leave less of a print on this world by using only recycled materials for packaging take away orders.
