I placed an order on-line tonight for takeout. I drove to the deli to pick up my order. I waited in line and then a manager came to see if I needed help. I told him I was there to pick up my order. He checked in the kitchen and they said it had been delivered to my home. I told him I had not requested delivery and had not paid for delivery. He printed off a receipt and it showed it was a Grub hub order. I have never used Grub Hub and it was not even shown on the yelp site where I had placed my order. The mgr gave me the print out and I drove home. I have not received my order, it was never delivered to my home. I called the mgr and he said "Oh, I should have just went ahead and made up your order". That is what I thought and he should have offered me a free meal or something. Then he told me he was putting in a refund to my bank account. Well, the refund has not shown up yet. So, be careful when you order on line as you might not get your order. If the refund is not in my account tomorrow you can rest assured that I will be at that store to get my money back! Very disappointed in the way this mgr handled this mess. read more

Great place. My aunt and uncle had never eaten here. So we tried shortly after 2pm for a late afternoon lunch on a sunday. Everyone enjoyed the half sandwich and soup combo with unsweet tea. Side fruit cup no pineapple, grapes and strawberries. 2 bottles water chilled. Asked, utensils. PRO: fruit cup as ordered and water was chilled ample chicken on sandwich and moist, great taste. CON: sandwich disaster, no cheese, razor thin slices of avocado, one razor thin slice tomato with hard core, hint of honey mustard one side of bread, few wilted strips of stems spinach, one fork at bottom of bag not in a plastic wrap, I called back on that and that was standard, ok, lol, thinking covid and all. ((So I bring it back to my hotel shower relax and discover all of this after a long day)). Washed the fork. Lol. Dude! I've come not to expect anything phenomenal from a deli chain - seems like Panera, Newks, Jason's Deli, etc. all have very similar offerings and nothing really stands out. I like the concept here and the food was very good. I had a vegetarian wrap that was brought to me very quickly. The service was fast and friendly - I told the order-taker it was my first time there, and she gave me a quick rundown of the menu and made a couple of suggestions. Wide selection of hot, cold, grilled, classic, and deluxe sandwiches. Kids menu is only $1 dine in or $2 takeout, including chips or applesauce. Price range from $6-$8 or $9 is a little pricey but better value in terms of balancing size and quality compared to Panera. They have versatile combos too. read more

All of my coworkers and me at University Flowers, located right around the block, have nothing but nice things to say about all the menu options, food-quality, and speed/friendliness of staff at McAlister's! From our various dietary restrictions be it for fitness reasons, gluten allergies, or abstinence from meat, they have clearly-labeled choices on the menu (with plant and wheat symbols). This and their entire online ordering system is a breeze, which enhances the ease and quickness of picking up lunch-to-go for our entire staff. One might expect working at a floral shop to be all sunshine and daisies, but churning out personalized hand-touched designs under time constraints can be quite demanding--especially on an empty stomach. The one thing I'll usually say for McCalister's is that they are consistent. Not this time. The main reason I go there is for the tea; I love their unsweet tea. Much to my disappointment, I got a disgusting cup of iced tea that was old and sour. I worked in restaurants during my college days, and I recognize that taste and odor - I am certain that there was mold in it. Probably slime too. If you've worked in food service, you know what I'm talking about. They need to make FRESH tea for their customers. Gross! I would have returned it, but my order was "to-go" so I was already back on the highway headed to Houston when I realized. I was unable to drink it, and just threw it away at the next stop. That's why this McAlister's got 1 star from me. That isn't to say that the food was stellar. To eat, I ordered the Sicilian cheese panini. It was bland and dry, but at least it wasn't rotten like the tea, so I ate a few bites. The potato salad was fine, no problems with that. The kids had cheese pita pizza and macaroni and cheese. They ate without complaint, but they liked the pizza better. I'll give McAlister's another chance, but not this one. If you decide to eat here, ask WHEN the tea was made. It is reasonable to expect that it is made on the same day you order it. read more

We are new here, have never heard of this chain, I found it by looking for gluten free spots. I saw they will make ANY sandwich on GF bread, which if you're like me & cant eat gluten that is major, like a unicorn jumped over a rainbow and the sky was raining gold. So of course I ordered. New Favorite Restaurant!!! In light of Covid restrictions, we recently used McAlister's Deli to provide 60 boxed lunches (with breakfast sandwiches) for a wedding rehearsal dinner - and boy are we glad we did! Paul, was very helpful in discussing options and helping us to formulate our order. Through his guidance, we were able to augment our order with an additional half sandwich in each box, which was a perfect fit for our needs. On the day before pickup we went into the store to ensure everything was on track. We met Elizabeth who was very friendly and super helpful! We wanted to place stickers on the boxes and she suggested we could come into the store the following morning before opening to do so. Her accommodating spirit and assurance that everything was on track was so appreciated and relieved all our stress! We arrived the following morning and Grant, who was expecting us, let us in to complete the work. The boxes were already out and ready for packaging, making it a simple task. Not only was the staff helpful from ordering through confirmation and delivery, but the food was absolutely fantastic! I cannot complement the staff enough on helping us out. People's livelihoods are determined by crazy stuff put on there so I always---- unless there's just something really bad - keep my reviews normal . Anybody off the street could understand, they have excellent service, they are always busy all the time. Being in a college town yes they probably have stumbled every once in awhile, but I have never had bad service or anything that they wouldn't correct. Always have had a good experience here even though it can get super crowded. I love the combination plates (choose 2)- they give you several optional. I craved this place whenever I was pregnant! Haha. They have large cups for tea- I prefer unsweet. They have large lemons which I appreciate. I always get their tortilla soup.
