Came here for the first time with my kids. Ordered the Turkey Bacon Ranch, Club on a Sub, Firehouse Hero, and the New York Steamer. All delicious subs, especially the New York Steamer, just love the carnivore subs the most. The food is definitely more fresher than Subway. Overall, decently priced for the quality and size of the subs. I got a large for all 4 of my subs. I also ordered a loaf of garlic bread which was mediocre. Nothing special about the garlic bread. We will definitely be back to try their other subs. Lots of parking and tables to dine on. All the staff are friendly and pretty fast. I am happy to say that this location does the company justice. I am from Austin and usually have firehouse there but I love this location in college station due to how nice the service is here. They are very friendly and happy to serve you delicious food. I am always a fan of the murals they have unique to each town on their walls in any location around. I have always loved Firehouse Subs sandwiches. Good quality for a good price. Today I tried the Mac n cheese as a side instead of my usual chips. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. It was soup with undercooked noodles. My mom took it to the front and Dan the man apologized. He explained it comes premade and frozen. I was actually shocked to hear this. Everything is usually very tasty! He exchanged it for a bag of chips and apologized profusely. Do better Firehouse. Dan was hustling. And I mean, making tea, changing cups, getting brownies, runnings the register, making sandwiches, greeting everyone, and helping out where he could. He made my day. read more

Ok, I come from the East Coast where Sub Shops as a Rule are Generally Amazing. Sub shops in Texas, not so much. Whenever I go to Firehouse Subs, East Coast Me says "You know the meats at Firehouse are not nearly as good as the ones back home." Texas Me says "Yeah". East Coast Me says "Firehouse serves way way too much thin sliced pressed loaf turkey and chicken product." Texas Me says "Yeah". East Coast Me says "Have you ever seen an eggplant parmesan sub at Firehouse? You used to love those things." Texas Me says "Yeah". Sometimes I shut East Coast Me up by going to Delaware Subs in Austin, and that keeps East Coast Me quiet for a while. In College Station, he whines and whines. So I just stuff him in the trunk of my car, and go to Firehouse Subs anyway. Sometimes - you just gotta have a sub ... and Firehouse Subs won't kill you. I just had a sub there with commercial loaf turkey, mayonnaise, cranberry sauce and fillers. Was it a real sub? No. Was it one of those wonderful turkey sandwiches you make for yourself the day after Thanksgiving with leftover roast turkey and the rest of what is in the refrigerator? No. But sometimes, a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.... and the Fireman sub was okay. And East Coast Me still owes Texas Me for the time it dragged me to a place on Cape Cod for what the locals called "burritos". read more

There are plenty of options of meals and the price a little on the high side but you're paying for the "firehouse" promotion. What I would like is a name brand cold cut. Sadly, They promote their condiments and chips more than the meat on the sandwich. Little lackluster for me. Service is blah. There is no excitement or flare to the place. And because they "heat/steam" their sandwiches it takes much longer than a normal sandwich. In closing, I just miss my "typical" sandwich shop. Not sure If this is the only firehouse in Cstat, but dang, these guys just get it right. They are hooked friendly so you can get free chips and free drink just about every chance you go there. I usually get the Italian, and by the time I pay, get my drink, and start walking to the counter my order is already ready. Don't get me wrong, Jimmy Johns has fast skills too but I haven't seen some work done like this in ages. Me and all 12 of my roommates do firehouse friday and we all go to the location on Texas. First visit! Friendly workers, the guy taking my order explained everything easily and I had my VERY delicious sub within minutes. I even got a pickle in my to go bag! I visited the College Station location to pick up two sandwiches for my wife and I. I ordered your FEATURED Sub...the Pork Slaw sandwich as well as The New York Steamer...when I got home I was appalled to how I was robbed of my hard earned money. This was my first visit there and not only do I never want to go through this again but I will make sure what happened to me is shared in the community. I am a Kitchen Manager at a local restaurant as well as a Front of House Trainer at another local restaurant and as I come into contact with many guests on a regular visit I will make sure to look out for them. I was not taken care of on my visit. As you can see in both my pictures...I was charged 17 dollars for these two sandwiches. One sandwich was even right under 9 dollars, that's the one I sent you. The menu I picked up on way out says USA Choice corned beef brisket, pasteami, provolone, deli mustard, mayo, Italian Dressing. As you can see I was charged 9 dollars for a sandwich containing a meager amount of only a single meat and a glob of mayonaisse. 2 out of six ingredients that I was charged for. How is this taking great care of your guests? The other sandwich was the FEATURED Pork Slaw sandwich. What I got was most likely an ounce (as I work in kitchens), no more than an ounce and a half of meat. And guess what else I got on my sandwich? A glob of mayonaisse. Not a single other ingredient. I'm really confused if they didn't think I'd notice I was messing ingredients because someone didn't want to make a walk to a walk-in cooler, but the sandwich is called the Pork SLAW. There was literally no coleslaw and the ingredient is in the name, how would I notice? I am extremely upset and I strongly urge to be contacted immediately. There is obviously a lack of standards in management as well as in execution. Honestly I would also suggest that you get a product coach to that location immediately. I'm not positive how you're chain of command and training program works, but I can guarantee if this happen to me in such a sly and sneaky way, I am not the first and won't be the last. I am appalled at what I was charged $16.98 for and I honestly feel like this is thievery in every aspect of what the hospitality field is not about. I really hope that you can do better than this. I first heard about this restaurant while overhearing some other students rave about eating there for dinner one day. I'm usually not crazy about sandwiches in general. I usually only resort to them when I'm on a go and am not in a mood for fast food, but I really dig the sandwiches at Firehouse Subs. I've already been here on several occasions and have only gotten one sandwich so far (the Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar Brisket Sub), but I look forward to going back and trying their other sandwiches such as the Italian or the Roast Beef. I can name at least three things I really love about this place. First, the bread is simple, yet very soft and easy to chew on. When eating a sandwich, I really just want to enjoy the sandwich toppings, but that sensation is partially lost when I have to chew through the freaking topping holder that is the bread. Not here though. Second, the meat and toppings were warm, moist, thin, and very tasty. I was enjoying each bite of my sandwich. Lastly, I'm a huge fan of their hot sauce collection. Each time I order there, I try out all the different hot sauces they have up on the counter. It'll take a few more visits to try out all the hot sauces I've been wanting to try, which gets me excited when I go there again. Other than that, I have some really great things to say about the staff. They're really friendly and sociable, which caught me off-guard when I first went there, since the place was packed during lunchtime and orders were being rushed out. The only downside is the restaurant itself inside. Like what Greg D. mentioned, the tables are a bit close together. I prefer space when I'm eating there, especially when I'm there by myself just to eat while getting work done. That's why I've always had my food to go. The decor at least nicely fits the restaurant's name. All in all, this restaurant is my current favorite sandwich shop to visit. This was my first trip to Firehouse Subs. My brother and sister-in-law raved about it. I wasn't as impressed. it was good but not amazing. I ordered a turkey sub. I did ask for some special requests: no onion and no lettuce. but I don't think it was very complicated. however, it took almost 10 mins for me to receive my sub. It was a tasty sub. good balance of tastes. there were several hot sauces to choose from. I was a bit disappointed there wasn't any horseradish tho. this location was in a strip mall. easy to find. I bet it's super busy in this college town. my only other complaint was when the employee yelled out "roll tide" to me as I left, dressed in my Texas a&m gear. no buddy. Gig'em! read more

It does take longer to get your sandwich than, say, Jimmy Johns, but then again you are getting a HOT sandwich here... and I consider that a huge advantage over JJ's. I went here today and I was VERY sorry that I did and I will tell you why. First off, they informed me that they only give away the 7th sub in size Medium (not large). Also, if you order 2 subs in one order you only get one stamp. I got a large sandwich which was about the same size as the subway foot long and a drink. My girlfriend got a medium 6 inch with a medium drink and chips and the total came almost $18 which I would consider a lot for subs. The meat on the sub was VERY thin and had very little taste. The tea was not very tasty but it was fresh and they put some honey sauce on it that reminded me of Quiznos. The meat tasted like nothing and $18 dollars for two sandwiches and some pretty small drinks.. come on I think not. i didn't finish my food because it wasn't any good. I would never go here again. You have to place 6 orders before you get a free sub, which means if you took someone else your look at 18* 6 or 108 before you get a free medium sub.And if your the type of person that eats by yourself then you would spend about $54 before you get a free sub. Even if you get the medium size 6 inch you would end up spending $42 in low quality cold cut sandwiches before you get one six inch free... give me a break! read more

Came here for the first time as it was recommended by a co-worker. To make it short, tried the Italian sub and it was a good sub though a bit on the sweet side. Yes. I said sweet. Between the dressing and the honey ham, the overall taste was a bit sweet so I had a hard time mentally digesting the sub. Everything else coming from behind the counter was looking good, so I will definitely try it again though not likely going for the Italian. The counter staff are always friendly and patient when we take our time deciding what we want to try this time. Tonight 's service was no exception, the counter server noticed we were looking for a brand of hot sauce we had tried before but couldn't find (or remember the name). She helped by asking about the heat and taste, then went to the back and grabbed us what she could find. So helpful and we found another hot sauce we love thanks to her recommendation - don't try Mad Dog .357 unless you want your mouth on FIRE! It was great!
