Came here for the first time with my kids. We had the chicken tenders and sliders with fries and mac'n cheese. Everything was really delicious. The coleslaw in the slider was on point. I'm not a big pickle guy, but these large crispy cuts were doable. The fries are well seasoned and the mac'n cheese were a bit gooier, but delicious. Each came with a Dave's sauce which is a sweet dipping sauce. It was pretty flavorful. Self serve fountain drinks available. Overall, a bit pricey, but definitely worth it once in a while. I think it definitely surpasses Cook Shack and Raising Canes. The staff were all super friendly and fast. A good amount of tables to dine on. The overall ambiance was really nice, kind of artsy. Not sure why this has a bad rating. I've been twice for lunch while working at A&M and enjoyed both times. You can see in the pic the sliders term applies to the roll, not the chicken. Pieces are huge! The sauce they give you is tasty and fries are crunchy. Wish they had ranch but it's all good. The workers are always nice and the place was clean both times. The drink machine is usually bad on average, not sure if the drink mixes are bad or it's just a bad machine. The meal overall is a little overpriced too compared to other places. The service is usually decent, but it can get busy and slow sometimes. Inside, you can usually find a table, but there isn't that many. It's not hard but you have to park around back or to the side. It's in a small strip so the front spaces are reserved for other businesses. There is an inside do ing room and a patio. There is also a walk-up window to pick up to-go orders. They serve a variety of chicken fingers, sliders, nuggets as well as cauliflower nuggets. They have heat ranging from no spice to reaper. I chose hot and got the 2 sliders and fries. Let me tell you the sliders are really the size of a regular hamburger. The chicken is large and hangs off of the bun. The heat was perfect and the slaw and pickles really balanced everything. The fries were hot and crispy. All of our food was fresh. We tried the Mac and cheese and it was very creamy and had that taste more like a restaurant versus fast food. They do serve a small variety of beers although we just had sodas at lunch. The Dave's sauce is delicious whether you dip your chicken or fries in it. If you ask for extra you get a large packet (I do think there was a small charge). Tiffany was the employee who took our order and provided us everything we needed. She was so nice and helpful. The location does have a drive-thru as well. Overall pretty good. My college age son picked Dave's Hot Chicken for lunch so in fairness this is not the sort of spot I would normally choose. Menu is very limited, only fried options, no salad option. The Yelp directions are slightly off so be aware of that. I did love the generous side of pickles served and fries and Dave's sauce were really good. Chicken tenders were very large. I got medium spice and that was perfect for me. I imagine anything more is really spicy. The chicken is in what seemed like a rub. Rubs are not my favorite and I didn't like how it turns your mouth orange. Was a little pricey, especially for a college town. Meal prices similar to other places, but drink is sold separate so that gets expensive. Generous portions and overall good. Staying in Austin for a business trip my husband is on and we decided to drive a little over an hour & a half to see what the hype was about because I've been wanting to try it for a while. Honest opinion: it was trash and not worth the drive. The bread sucked, the fries sucked, the cheese was cold, the chicken was alright but not as good as the pics at all. The owner definitely invested a lot of money in photography and advertising. Spent a lot of money on the atmosphere because it does look cool in there but the food itself wasn't that good, if I'm being honest my stomach kind of hurts. Definitely not worth the 3 hour drive there and back. The drinks were only some fountain drinks and basic tea. I think if the owners offered a really good ice cold homemade lemonade would have been cool to compliment the chicken. But yea it was disappointing. I'd also like to note that the service sucked, it took 20 min to get someone to come clean out dirty table and the amount of flies in that place made it impossible to enjoy any of it aswell. I gave it another shot. I've now tried the very hot and reaper flavors. The reaper is incredibly hot as advertised, so much that you had better eat it over a toilet. The very hot one to me is just right for hotness and actually quite enjoyable. What i'm not getting used to is the way these tenders have a dry rub seasoning. These do not drip with sauce like most places (BWWs) and instead are very peppery. I'm sure the sodium levels are insane if I were to look them up. But they do have good flavor. It's the texture and pepper that gets to me. After eating a sandwich, I really couldn't eat anymore. Their fries are really good and have a nice seasoning. I could eat those all day. Inside they have plenty of seating, a fountain drink machine (no coke zero though!), and restrooms. Everything is very clean and the staff are friendly. I also really admired the artwork all around the building inside and out. The inside (photos attached) have writing everywhere and themes into Aggieland. The outside had what looked like enormous cracks in the building that peered into a solar system. It was actually very well done. Kudos to the artist! Their prices are very reasonable and in fact you could split some things like the double sandwich + fries combo for $13.99 to easily feed two people. I've heard about Dave's on social media and was really excited to try it on my trip to College Station. I went for lunch on a Friday through the drive thru and it took 25 minutes from ordering to getting my food with 4 cars in front of me. I'm curious if it would have been any faster if I had gone in since it didn't seem like there were that many cars in front either. The lady helping me was very nice, so service was definitely friendly, just seemed a little slow for a drive thru. The food itself, I loved! I got hot, so the chicken was actually spicy and seasoned so well! The sandwich buns were soft, the slaw was good and the chicken tenders were huge. I'm a sucker for crinkle fries and these were seasoned well also. I'm am a pickle lover and the extra stack of pickles in that box was heaven for me... I loved their pickles. Despite liking the food and the portion size, I still felt like it was a little on the pricey side. I'm also wondering if it gave me food poisoning or if my stomach couldn't handle the heat because I've been having stomach issues since I ate that chicken. We went to Daves wanting some good chicken. The chicken was way to spicy(we had medium spice) and way too greasy. We could not eat the chicken and I had the immediate need for an alkaseltzer to prevent severe heart burn, luckily I had some in the car. I listed a complaint on their web page and they offered me a free meal . Second visit we got the no spice chicken. Still terrible and we did not finish a third of the meal. Oh....the free meal code did not work and the manager did nothing to resolve the problem so we paid again hoping for better food. The spiciness level appeared to be the same on both plates, the bread was not very fresh and the fries were stone cold for both of us.
