This is a great local bar and grille with the classic pub menu. The burgers were awesome and a hit with the kids. Service was also very friendly. Kaylee was the best!! And if you leave room for dessert they have blue bell ice cream and milkshakes!!

Service was great! Love the atmosphere. As you can tell in our photo, the spicy pickle chips were our favorite. Definitely give those B+ with the sauce! I got the chicken bacon ranch wrap which was a basic wrap with basic issues. Too much tortilla, only 5 pieces of chicken chunks and a whole lot of lettuce. I would give this a D-. Although it had decent taste, it was just very inconsistent within the wrap. The mushroom burger was delicious! Great flavor, great consistency. Definitely giving it an A. We both chose the sweet potato fries for our sides. Depending on the individuals preference in texture is going to depict if you love them or like them. The flavor is great, lightly salted while capturing that rich sweetness with a creamy inside. I thought they were amazing, but my spouse loves her fries crispy and she wasn't a fan of the texture. I believe when including both of our opinions we'll give the sweet potato fries a B. Overall, Billy's Grille & Bar is receiving a B+. Everything was great, only take away would to avoid the wraps unless you love carbs and maybe ask them to add a little more of a certain included ingredient. Anyways, hope you enjoy your meal and God bless.

I liked everything! We are always looking for something new to try. While I no longer live in B/CS, I love coming back to things that I enjoy and miss. And especially when we find a place that we had not dined at before. We found Billy's on Yelp and thought it would be a fun evening out, so there we were. Billy's was quite the surprise. First, I noticed the caricature on the front of the menu. I thought, gee, he looks familiar. After reading the story about Bill Schulman on the back, my hunch was correct. As a child and young man, I had been to the Schulman family theaters in Bryan many times. I have vivid memories of the Palace and Drive-in. This will date me, but we used to have to call the theater to hear a recorded message of shows and showtimes. I'll never forget Mr. Schulman's voice announcing the show as "Hotel Hell!!!" I am appreciative of the many years that this family has dedicated themselves to our community! That said, in addition to the pleasant ownership surprise, I really liked the restaurant. There were two young lady's that served us. Both were very pleasant and attentive. I did ask what the store used to be, but they were unsure and thought it was an ice cream bar. After speaking with my dad, he said it was Jarrott's Pharmacy. It made sense then. Jarrot's was a Pharmacy and soda fountain. Wow, it had been years! Okay, on to the menu. They had a diverse menu with a little something for everyone. Also, there was much in the way of Texas fare which I really enjoy. I ordered the Chicken-Fried Steak and a tall class of beer. My wife had Billy's Cobb salad with fried chicken strips. I thought my Chicken-Fried Steak was as good as any that I've had in the area. The cold beer didn't hurt either! My wife said that she loved the Cobb salad. We had eaten pretty heavy on our trip, so that salad was just what the doctor ordered! We had friends with us who really enjoyed their meal as well. I loved it all. The history, food, drink and service. Yes, I will be back with each trip home to Bryan! Thanks Schulman family.

This was a fun surprise. Seemingly ran by young, yet professional college students. Lol it gives a neighborhood vibe. The staff offered great suggestions, were helpful, accommodating and provided great unexpected conversation. Lol The cucumber margarita was the best I've ever had. The spicy friend pickles were nicely flavored and the coconut shrimp were perfection.

I went with my neighbor for breakfast because he had been raving about this place and goes often. I must say that, for the price, the portions are very good. We were sat very quickly but the service was lacking from thereon out. My friend had to shout to get an iced tea refill and I never got the opportunity to ask for hot sauce for my migas. The migas as a whole was underwhelming yet filling. The salsa tasted like it was from a jar and the tortillas were store bought and flavorless. I would not order that again. Still, I think the place has potential and I would love to give it another go. Those potatoes...just you wait.

    Bacon burger & fries

Made the decision to go there based on Yelp reviews. Went there with three other guys during First Friday, so they were very busy. Despite this, our food came out in around 10 minutes and our waitress, Chloe, was very attentive. She even accommodated one of our friends who showed up after our food had came out. As far as the food goes, three of us (including myself) all got the bacon burger, and loved it. The sourdough buns were definitely the right choice here. French fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Another one of my friends got the chicken fried steak, and also loved it. On top of all that, it was amazing price for the amount of food we got (~$10 each!). The only bad part I can think of is the wait for the bathroom because it was crowded, but First Friday only happens once a month, so there's a pretty low chance you'd run into that problem. Definitely a very entertaining ambiance though, with TVs on the walls and a bar that had a wheel to spin for a random shot we will definitely go back. Also, one of their "Billy's favorites" drinks was Dos Equis, and that is our favorite beer. I'm definitely going to have to give this one 9 Cane's-in-Bryans out of 10.

Chicken caesar salad cost $13, took 30 minutes to come out, and this was the amount of chicken they gave me.. My sister ordered the avocado bacon burger and there was less than a single slice of avocado on it. Food was fine, prices and servings were not.

20 minutes to get a burger and fries? Ok, but... it wasn't quite worth the wait. Tasted okay, but not the best I've ever had. Sorry.

The manager came out with an attitude and said "you called me out to hear me say no?" Which wasn't what I was asking for. Tried to sell me a bottle of water before they finally gave me lukewarm water and napkins to clean up the blood. The manager was also in unprofessional attire. Horrible unkind service. We walked in and immediately could tell that there was a problem with the cashier. The two guys before us continued trying to order different items on the menu and the cashier kept saying that they were out. When it was our turn to order my boyfriend ordered a brookie and he said "we don't have those." We specifically come here for the brookies so my boyfriend said "can we wait for y'all to make some we don't mind waiting as that has happened in the past." The cashier goes "we close soon I'm not making more." Then after arguing with us for over a minute and literally putting his hand on his hip and rolling his eyes, he checks the oven right next to him and goes "yeah actually we have another brookie." So did you know the whole time you had a brookie? What is with the attitude when the whole time we've been so nice? I ask if there's a second brookie and he looks at me, once again rolls his eyes, and goes "no there's only one." My boyfriend asks if they have regular brownies "no we don't have ANY brownies." My boyfriend said "so what do y'all have" and he explained everything that he didn't have which included not only regular chocolate chip cookies but also triple chocolate chunk cookies. So, once again, my boyfriend said "I asked what y'all do have." And once again this awful cashier explained everything that they DIDN'T have. Do you even listen? At this point I was so tired of his attitude and blatant disrespect while we were literally just trying to order that I told my boyfriend that we need to leave and go somewhere else. So that's what we did and now we're at Whataburger. I am genuinely so shocked at the customer service and if the manager sees this you should look into genuinely firing whatever man with long hair and an awful attitude was working until close on the night of April 29th. And this is coming from someone that has been a server and worked in multiple restaurants.
