Great little brewery tap room, definitely a cut above a lot of the recent tap rooms springing up all over. Great selection of well crafted beers, and a generous, varied menu. Special when we visited, was a very satisfying blackened fish taco dish, with some really tasty toppings. VERY friendly, welcoming business. This would be your "local pub", if you lived close. Every staff member was working as part of a team to make the visit as pleasant as could be. Tastes of different beers were freely offered, based off of what we started drinking, and bar staff were clearly clued up on different beer styles and brewing. All in all, a very satisfactory visit to an above average brewery. Real ale fans and beer nerds should add this to your beer stops. read more

Ended up at this restaurant for a late lunch. Seating was immediately available. Floors were sticky but overall the place looked clean. Ordered a flight of beers, fish tacos, French toast and a burger with house potato chips. Drinks and food arrived promptly. Food was ample and quite tasty. Service was very friendly. The food was not cheap but overall experience was worth it. Plan on returning next time in town. read more

This place was pretty dang perfect. Close enough to round up to 5. First: beer. Wife and I wanted something dark. Weather's cooled off. Time for stouts and porters. They only had one - an imperial stout. Usually I don't dig these. Higher ABV = too sweet and covers up the taste of the stout itself, if that makes any sense. At 9%, this was impressive. Really really good. Rich and robust, with coffee and dark chocolate. Awesome. At $8 a pour, that's pretty reasonable these days. Went with something weird for dinner: a pickle pizza. Voo-Dill, to exact. Yep, it worked. If you like pickles, dill, and pizza, give 'er a try. NOM NOM NOM. My son created his own pizza and loved it. My daughter liked her bacon. Only imperfection were the "refried beans" my daughter got on the side. They were whole black beans - which we were told they would be, but... would be nice to have "traditional" Tex Mex (ish) mashed refried beans. These were boring and she did not like them - and I don't blame her. Beans aside, everything else was awesome. Conner was awesome on the service side - super personable ans attentive - and the whole place was new, shiny, and just plain well done. Glanced back at the kitchen and it was impressively clean. Newest brewery in town, located at the edge of North Gate. Free parking is rare, but we managed to snag a space right out front (free for 2 hours.) I tried a flight of several IPAs and the Oktoberfest. They were okay but nothing spectacular. The menu looks good, but we weren't out for dinner this time around. It's a nice addition to NorthGate, but as for original brews in town, I still prefer the one in downtown Bryan. Easier parking, more space, fun bands, etc... read more

The beer is very good, service was very lackluster. There was maybe three other tables full at the restaurant and somehow they messed up our order where my wife's order never got placed in the system when I brought it up to the staff they just blamed the point of sale system, a.k.a. the toast system. I also hate the fact that you have to pay to park to eat at this restaurant and that fry for a chicken sandwich cost two dollars extra. We unfortunately will not be coming back here. Would I recommend moving forward for this restaurant to thrive is be more transparent with the menu as well as maybe a validation system for people that want to come and eat at the restaurant. read more

Fun, inviting pub. Had a large group in town from Austin for the Texas Fireman's Olympics. Couldn't have been a better experience. Truffle fries were spectacular; fresh, crisp and seasoned to perfection. Wife and I split the large salad which was fresh and delicious. Also split the Sriracha Wings. Admittedly I'm a wing snob, I know what I like, and these rivaled any I've had before ... wife agreed. Beers were good, lots of varieties. Wife loved the "Empty Calories" which was super light. Our friends loved the mixed drinks (berry margaritas I believe). The owners were friendly and attentive. Overall staff was on point. Well done. Although parking is tricky due to the so close to campus location, it's definitely worth the trip! We enjoyed a couple of local brews and sampled a couple others. The shaved Brussels sprouts Caesar was excellent; crispy, crunchy, fresh and well dressed. The Good Vibes bacon and blue burger was meaty, juicy, well dressed and delicious. The homemade chips were icing on the cake. We sat at the bar and had exceptional service. Service is usually great when sitting in front of the bartender, but our server definitely went above and beyond. Our glasses were never empty, our food was served quickly and hot and we enjoyed a great discussion about the brewery/restaurant and the local beers. Lots of space, bright and light and just a comfortable feel. We talked with the owner after we ate and he knew much of the area, construction and future plans. Praying this place flourishes and maintains its vibe. We will definitely return whenever we are in the area. read more

I had the FooDoo cheeseburger, my friend got the No Philly cheesesteak, and we split a flight of margaritas--everything was delicious. The flavors were on point, and I was honestly kind of shocked at how good the food was. The margaritas were tasty too, with fun flavors that complemented the meal perfectly. The only downsides were the limited parking and that service was a bit slow. But since we weren't in a rush, it didn't bother us too much--and the amazing food more than made up for it. We stopped here after a really long really hot game day, we've never been in the area before but we saw this place and thought it would be a cool place to stop. However, it was very busy and understaffed, which is understandable and I get that, but it was honest to god a mess. It took ten minutes to get a menu from the bar and then after we tried to place an order we found out their pizza oven wasn't operational. Okay fine, we picked something else. We sat for 40 minutes after ordering still waiting for our food, trying to be patient. But after watching people who had come in well after us receive food, we tried to flag down our bartender. It took him a good ten minutes to finally come over to us, and once he did he told us that the kitchen was yelling at eachother. I asked if it would be a lot longer for the food and he said he didn't know so we just closed out and left. Though I appreciate honesty it was not a good experience. I know they were busy but I really doubt that the "kitchen fighting" caused patrons who entered and ordered well after us to receive their food before we did. I also would've appreciated a little more empathy from the staff. They were busy but I spent 70% of the time trying to snag their attention and got absolutely nothing from them. I think we got a "sorry guys" as we closed out but I think the situation required a little more. Maybe one drink taken off the bill or something? I don't know. They ignored bar patrons to make well tickets and do dishes, and once again, it's busy, but if a bar patron asks for a simple drink it should not take 5-10 minutes to get that for them. Anyway, as someone who is in food and bev for a living, maybe give this place a try on a day where it's not so busy and insane. read more

Service was really good. I like how vibe inside as well. Food not so much. The pretzel was half burnt I would say, with some pieces being so black and crunchy that we chose not to eat those. The dips with it were really good though. Pizza seemed a little overcooked as well and the tacos I got were on the dry side mainly from the tortilla and chicken in it. My boyfriend had the watermelon lemonade dragonfruit seltzer. He absolutely did not like it, I wouldn't order it myself either. I got the blackberry ginger margarita and we both really liked that so we shared that instead. Overall good place for a night out but for how much we paid, I don't think we will be ordering food again. read more

Great new place on Northgate! Stopped in for the grand opening on Saturday and was pleasantly surprised by the great Aggie atmosphere.
