We had been drinking beer, so I stuck to beer except for an old fashioned (which was excellent and used Buffalo Trace). They also have an awesome selection of draft beers. I had a Live Oak Hefeweizen which was excellent. Service was excellent both at the restaurant and the attached pizza area. Since we had been drinking a while, we decided to have pizza at the shop attached to the bar. They have a nice pizza oven and this was excellent. I forget the name, but it has a nice thin crust with great cheese and topped with sausage and mushrooms. It really hit the spot Definitely worth a visit, distinct from many of the other bars around.

I was here for a Class of 1980 reunion reception, so maybe you could say that with a room of folks in their mid to upper 60s, this place was hopping? This was primarily a drink-only event, and I thought that the service was very good considering the "demands" of our crowd. There wasn't much on the inside TVs to watch, so we did do a good job actually talking to each other and staying off our screens. My wife ordered a burger and devoured it without a single word. This is how I know she truly enjoyed it. I went for two tacos (they run about $6 bucks each) including the Pulled Hammy and the Mama Migas. Both were packed with flavor and spicy enough to keep me on my toes. Service was on point. Our waitress hustled even though it was a chill lunch crowd. The bar itself has this cozy (not wide) historic downtown vibe with brick and wood and all the kind of stuff you see in those hip Austin places people brag about. Recently the fries were warm but not fresh and hot. I also don't understand why they don't give us a bottle of ketchup with the meal. Instead, they give one little cup, which isn't nearly enough, and good luck getting the servers to bring you more. I had to go to the bar to get them. That's very cheap and annoying. Generally, the service is ok, and the ambience perfect for a neighborhood bar.
