For appetizers, we got the Hummus Duo to include a side of their ranch dipping sauce. Every pizza was delicious and flavorful. The Motown Medusa was very different and strangely delicious. Even a plain pizza like the pepperoni was different and flavorful. Each pizza had great texture and generously packed with toppings. The pizzas are a bit pricier for the size that you get, but it's definitely better than a cheap Pizza Hit or Dominoes pizza. I don't care for Hummus much, but these 2 were pretty damn good especially the garlic one. They come with these little naan bread and these super crispy crouton-like flat bread which are great. They have a very limited menu so don't expect anything else other than some pizzas and drinks. Staff are super friendly and fast. Lots of parking. Lots of indoor and outdoor tables to dine at. You order at the counter and you pick up your food and sit wherever. There have a little bar with their own drinks. Our appetizer, Bread & Garlic Oil was chewy, and baked perfectly, but the "garlic oil" had almost no garlic flavor and didn't resemble olive oil at all. I'm betting it was vegetable oil or canola oil, which should be a sin in a pizza place! When I mentioned it, the solution was simply adding a clove of garlic to the bowl, which didn't improve it. How hard would it be to use REAL olive oil and infuse it with fresh roasted garlic! We also ordered a specialty pizza that was supposed to have roasted garlic, but it arrived without it. The pizza was remade after we pointed it out, and the second one was better, but it still seemed to be drizzled with the same flavorless oil. The crust also lacked the structure I'd expect from a good pizza, with every slice folding over when picked up. I can see why people enjoy the atmosphere, and perhaps a classic pepperoni pizza would be a better choice. The staff did make an effort to correct the mistakes, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, based on our experience, the food simply didn't live up to the reviews, and with so many great pizza places around, I don't see myself returning.

The waitress did a great job, however, even if she looked like she was being forced to do some serious salesmanship on us. My daughter and son-in-law said their burgers and fries were just okay (although perfectly cooked to order), but my super expensive salad was not good at all. It was bagged, not fresh lettuce, and had been sitting somewhere awhile. Perhaps it had been vacationing on some warm tropical isle and was overly distraught that it had to come back to work, but by the time it got to me, it was just so, so tired. It had had enough. It decided to give up right there on the plate. So sad. You know how it gets, when the edges get slimy and kind of curl over? When it has that gassy-baggy smell and taste? It was dark in the restaurant (I think we know why now, and it isn't for ambience), so I couldn't see at first what the problem is. So when I started eating a $18.49 salad, I didn't think I'd have to dig through it and see if it were suitable for an activity like actual eating. I couldn't have imagined they would proudly serve me a salad that was mucky. Said salad was supposed to come with avocados, but only three tiny cubes bothered to show up. I don't know where the rest of it ended up. There were no red onions, and there were no tomatoes. Maybe they were all at church praying for forgiveness. The chicken itself was decent, if a little little and a little dry (but who wants wet chicken when the rest of the salad was just that, am I right?). On the menu, it says: "...the Santa Fe Salad at BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse is the perfect lunch dish to break up the doldrums of the workday." Maybe it's because it wasn't a normal "workday," it being Sunday and all. But I think there was a typo because the salad itself *was* the doldrums.

So, our request did not seem unreasonable. They put four of us at a table near the bar, then seated six together at a large booth. That left two of us to go sit at the bar. It turns out that they don't bus and clear their tables. So, by the time we showed up, all those empty tables were still cluttered with dirty dishes. That is pretty gross. It appears that they leave the dirty dishes on the tables until the next morning, and then come in and clear the tables before lunch. Again, that is pretty gross.
