After reading so many great reviews, I was excited to try this place, but unfortunately it fell well short of my expectations. The hostess was genuinely friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant has a nostalgic type atmosphere. It was also extremely busy with a very large party, so I understand the staff was under pressure. Even so, service was quite slow from the time we were seated until we received our drinks and food. The biggest disappointment was the food. Our appetizer, Bread & Garlic Oil was chewy, and baked perfectly, but the "garlic oil" had almost no garlic flavor and didn't resemble olive oil at all. I'm betting it was vegetable oil or canola oil, which should be a sin in a pizza place! When I mentioned it, the solution was simply adding a clove of garlic to the bowl, which didn't improve it. How hard would it be to use REAL olive oil and infuse it with fresh roasted garlic! We also ordered a specialty pizza that was supposed to have roasted garlic, but it arrived without it. The pizza was remade after we pointed it out, and the second one was better, but it still seemed to be drizzled with the same flavorless oil. The crust also lacked the structure I'd expect from a good pizza, with every slice folding over when picked up. I can see why people enjoy the atmosphere, and perhaps a classic pepperoni pizza would be a better choice. The staff did make an effort to correct the mistakes, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, based on our experience, the food simply didn't live up to the reviews, and with so many great pizza places around, I don't see myself returning. read more

I just visited Rx for the first time this past weekend. The atmosphere is relaxed and our server was friendly! The cheese sticks (squares) are fabulous! Definitely a chef's kiss for an appetizer. Love me some Rx. I'm convinced that the downtown Bryan location is superior, but have no absolute proof. The foundation of Rx's goodness is their pizza dough -- soo good, with just enough of the crispness that makes me happy but still carrying a bit of that Neapolitan top side. The star of our last visit was a mushroom pizza special that was loaded with garlic chunks and onion -- fantastic. Salads were also noteworthy, and service is always good at Rx. Back in my childhood, the old building was home to Vicks Pharmacy. Sounded interesting, so let's go! Upon entering the building, I noticed the old stamped tin ceiling. Real history there. Otherwise the place is pretty eclectic and modern which fit well with the youthful crowd. We were seated and Austin came by to take our drink order. I asked for an IPA and he suggested a Yuengling. Never heard of it but it was a really good beer. We then ordered a Veggie and WoRx. I do wish they had some sort of Supreme that also included pepperoni and mushrooms. But that's okay, I added them to my order. Our pizza came out quickly and was loaded with ingredients! Let me say that it was not only a great combo, but one of the best I've ever had. The crust was especially good and the ingredients full of flavor. As I write, I'm already craving another! The last time I ordered pizza from a chain because they sold wings. I really do wish RX would consider that, but I must say their salads are better than most and they do have other appetizers as well. Great location in downtown Bryan. Stop by on any day other than First Friday. The space feels a little smaller than College Station location but definitely spacious. I placed an online order tonight. I've previously dined in as well but I was quickly trying to feed my kids after basketball practice tonight. When I arrived it was 15 minutes past my estimated time my food should have been ready. My pizza was not ready. Just a pepperoni pizza with olives and I also ordered the tots with bbq. The girls working the front desk never gave me a smile. Not a must but sure does make a place feel more inviting when you first enter. I asked how much longer after two more people came and picked up their orders and then one of the girls went to go check again. When I got home and lifted the lid I realized there was only olives on half. After paying 1.50 to add olives I'd expect them on the whole pizza. My online order did not reflect any request for them only on half and they are my kids favorite part. So you could say I was disappointed. Not to mention you could tell the tots were ready way before the pizza because they were soggy. I will definitely come back because they have the best tasting and quality pizza in town. Maybe it was an off night or a glitch with the online ordering. I've worked in food service so I get it but I also believe the establishment should know when errors have been made so they can be corrected. read more

Very good pizza. When we walked in, the waitress handed our 10 year old a blob of dough to play with. That was pretty cool and effective for over active kids. A trip to the restroom is mandatory for hand washing. We got a pepperoni pizza and the hamburger and cheese "pizza of the month". I try to order here often because you're local and they're owned by a local Aggie. For the first time I tried ordering a custom made pizza because they offer a lot of really good ingredients. For $17 I'm not very impressed. I ordered basil,roasted garlic, prosciutto and pulled pork pizza. The garlic was full cloves, which is great if you are trying to keep away Dracula, but not if you are trying to take a bite out of a slice. The pulled pork was flavorless and dismally portioned to say the least (maybe less than half an ounce). The basil and prosciutto were plentiful but lacked flavor (ether over prepared in advanced or just not quality, the color says the ladder). At least the crust was good. A for effort, F for execution. I think I'll stick to the cheap gallons of beer from here and try to find someone besides papa John's to out do the pizza. read more

My absolute favorite place for pizza in the Bryan/College Station area!!! I had no expectations for this place, but decided to try it since it's a short walk from the LaSalle Hotel. I placed my order, waited about 5 minutes,& walked over. The young lady at the counter greeted me warmly and I noticed everyone working had a great attitude. This says a lot about the place. I like to be around happy people. I walked back and immediately gobbled up most of the pizza by myself. It was soooooo good! My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
