The place…read morehas been slinging burgers, tacos and cocktails to the Brazos Valley since forever in restaurant years and the locals seem to love it for good reason. My wife ordered a burger and devoured it without a single word. This is how I know she truly enjoyed it. I went for two tacos (they run about $6 bucks each) including the Pulled Hammy and the Mama Migas. Both were packed with flavor and spicy enough to keep me on my toes. Service was on point. Our waitress hustled even though it was a chill lunch crowd. The bar itself has this cozy (not wide) historic downtown vibe with brick and wood and all the kind of stuff you see in those hip Austin places people brag about. This is why you give everyone a 2nd chance. We'll be back!

The spaetzle and potatoes were all good, potato salad being my favorite side of the night. Definitely fit the description of a cozy Bavarian vibe here, there's a bar area and plenty of tables. Service was attentive and efficient and our waitress even gave us a few pretzels to go as they were closing, very nice of them. All in all good drinks, generous portions, and hearty food in a relaxed setting. Exactly what you'd want from a local German spot, would come back if I'm in the area again.

We think they're open? So we walked into Murphy's, saw a bartender and two servers sitting at a table. No one greeted us, we sat our selves, and sat, and sat. If you're not interested in acknowledging a customer, it really made me concerned over the rest of my experience. So we walked out. I gave them two stars because I really love this place. They used to have, two + years ago, really good cheese curds. I felt ad though I was in Wisconsin! These past couple years the quality has gone down. Our last visit we ordered them and they were BAD. My husband ordered the catfish and I had their chicken wings. And I hate to say this, but it was the worst meal we've had there. It ruined our usual great experience. We will give them another try before we are forced to find a new local hangout.

Ambiance: The inside is very small, and there was hardly any available seating, but we managed to grab the last two open seats. The staff wasn't great -- it was surprisingly hard to flag someone down even though the place is so small. Service felt a bit slow and inattentive. Flatbread Pizza: The cheese on the pizza wasn't very good, and the crust had an off putting burnt taste to it. Overall, there was just something not right about the pizza -- it didn't feel fresh or well-made. Definitely wouldn't recommend it. Sunset Martini: The drink was just okay. It was pretty sweet, with a very strong coconut flavor that reminded me of Ocean Water from Sonic. It pretty much tasted like OJ and coconut, and nothing really stood out about it.

Really wanted the brisket queso too, but chickened out as I already ordered quite a bit. Will get it next time though, the brisket in the Philly was delicious. Entered a raffle with an older couple for a pistol on the way out, which I wasn't expecting, but as the elderly gentlemen said, one can never have too many firearms. They are not a sports bar, but had a couple of TVs playing games. It is a little run down and the bathroom stinks, but definitely worth a visit for the great selection of draft beers.

The poblano cream corn might be one of the best sides we've ever had. The key lime pie with the almond graham cracker crust was the perfect way to end it. And the Mash Madness whiskey competition is such a cool touch -- blind tasting between A and B like March Madness for bourbon. Makes it even more fun.
