Would not recommend the tour, however the drinks are delish and the service is pretty good. The upstairs and lobby have lots of seating and a very fun vibe!

We stopped by Hush & Whisper during our stay in Bryan and were really impressed. The space is beautiful, and the hosts made us feel right at home. While the whiskey wasn't quite my taste (still young at just 2 years) the gin was lovely and well-balanced, not too heavy on the juniper. The vodka was incredibly smooth, though a bit too herbaceous for my liking. Daniel gave us a fantastic, detailed tour. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

Neat to have something like this in downtown Bryan. I don't care for liquor but my friends do and it's a really cool space. We went for the barrel tasting for their one year (barreling) mark. They had regular and rye whiskey. It was educational but still a little spicy for me They have cool cocktails at the bar, cool vibes and neat merch. I hope they stick around for a while. It really is a neat space!

It looks like it used to be an old Woolworth or JC Penny's. The inside now reminds of a posh hotel lobby. There is a full service bar with their spirits. There is a gift shop. I believe you can take. Tour but that wasn't something I was interested in. They don't have bourbon yet but they have "white lightening" or "white dog" that they are calling white bourbon, which is to say an unaged bourbon. Nice place. Fun first date place.

Merch for sale. Great guy gifts.

What an awesome place! Full of sophistication and charm, true to the "renewed" nature of downtown Bryan. Looks more like a spot you'd find in downtown Austin, Dallas or Fort Worth, but oh how glad we are that it's in Bryan! The location is an old J C Penney store (from the earliest days, aka pre-mall) and features a beautiful staircase leading upstairs to another seating area overlooking the downstairs area and a couple of small, more intimate rooms in back. The gleaming brass and copper distilling equipment is the centerpiece of the main floor. There are coffee tables, velvet chairs and plush sofas configured into a variety of seating areas. Such a great spot to meet up for a drink. Try a Vodka Smash-lemon, simple syrup, mint and Vodka. Excellent! My go-to after trying almost everything on the cocktail menu. There are no servers; amble up to the bar and get it yourself. But there are plenty of great bartenders to help you choose and make it delicious.

I am seriously impressed by this distillery. The establishment looks fantastic, and the staff is quick to point out details that help make Hush & Whisper memorable. The expansive two-story lounge concept is well-executed: there a variety of tables that are perfect for a date night or small groups, and the deceptively large upstairs loft can accommodate groups of various sizes. You can do tastings of their grain-to-glass spirits (their copper column still is on proud display), but Hush & Whisper's bartenders are top-notch too. We let the staff recommend a handful of reasonably priced signature cocktails (the Night Watchman & Cherry Blossom Fizz were our favorite), and we were pleased to hear that most of the bar mixers were made in-house. To top it all off, Caleb's tour gave us a better appreciation for everything they're working on here in Bryan (we even got to sign our name on one of the bourbon barrels). I can't wait to come back and try some of the whiskey that they are currently aging!

Tasting profiles, vodka, whiskey and gin glasses

We came into Hush and Whisper distillery and decided to try the tasting, our liquor connoisseur Daniel Garcia did an amazing job showing us about the three different types of liquor they sell there. He gave us a rundown of all of the flavor profiles as well as how the drinks are made and their distilling processes. I highly recommend coming in with friends so you can debate with each other the flavor profiles you all taste as the four of us had a majorly different experience with each liquor. The feel of the distillery is extremely unique and very classy, bring friends and try it out!

Daniel welcomed us as we walked in the beautiful old building in downtown Bryan, TX. It has a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. He began the tour with the historical facts about the building and quickly showed us the fermentation room. He was gracious to answer all our uneducated questions and showed us each process. We had the tasting at a beautiful table while he explained the process of tasting. The tour was almost an hour and really educational. We throughly enjoyed the whole process and then enjoyed our drinks from the lovely bar.

My friends did a tour with Josh and he was amazing! Highly recommend. He was friendly, informative, and kind.

Forewarning, if you are someone who doesn't like cigar smoke, this won't be the spot for you. There are some nice lounge type seating in the back to relax with a cocktail while smoking your cigar of choice. While I'm not one to partake in cigars all that often, I can appreciate them on a special occasion. I can't speak to that experience here as I came strictly for cocktails and to enjoy the outdoor patio as the weather was fantastic. I'll also say that with how busy it was, it was a bit loud inside, but nothing out of the ordinary of a busy crowd. Let's jump in. Service - 5* Immediately upon entering and approaching the bar, I was greeted with a friendly acknowledgement and asked what I was looking for. I had an idea but was curious to see their menu. After placing an order, the drinks came out quite quick as they have a good balance of bartenders, I believe three were behind the counter so running drinks to tables and getting them seemed to flow well. Overall, the bartenders are attentive and the wait time for a drink isn't terrible at all. Cocktails - 4* The cocktails themselves are very typical classics. Their spirit selection is robust and definitely worth a look if you're seeking a clean, straight spirit to sip. All solid choices and there's a range for what taste profile you're wanting to have. As for execution and delivery, I didn't find the cocktails to be amazing by any means, but for the pricing, we were quite happy. Pricing - 5* I think with where prices have trended this place is keeping it consumer friendly and delivering. Overall - 4.5* I'd come back, I found the cocktails selection, spirit options, ambiance and patio seating options, and service to all land. If you're ever in the downtown Bryan area, I highly recommend stopping by here!

But more importantly they serve excellent cocktails! They have over 100 different cocktails and from what I could judge from the couple that I had, they must all be excellent. I started out with a caipirinha which just how I like it - not too sweet. My next drink was a pisco sour. It too was excellent and both were super-refreshing! But the kicker for me was that they have cigar smoking section. Since it's not a cigar lounge, they have a tiny cabinet humidor, but their policy is that as long as you drink you can smoke your own cigars. I came prepared with my own cigars and that made the experience that much more enjoyable. Next time I'm in town, this will definitely be a stop! Finally, they have a sister lounge that is a speakeasy that doesn't even have a name. We went to the speakeasy after dinner and the drinks there were also excellent. If you go to West End, ask them about the speakeasy!

I tried a couple of drinks out in the 2 days. I tried the Sour Hour and the Famous 1791 Old Fashion. The Sour Hour drink was recommended by the male bartender that was working on Thursday night. He was very knowledgeable and kind. It wasn't too strong, great ratio from alcohol to juices. I will get that again. On Friday night, I went down to the bar again to try another drink. This time, I can't leave College Station without trying the 1791 Old Fashioned. All I can say is this particular drink is in my top 3 hands down and I had many old fashions in my time working at my current job (on my day offs, of course). They put a teaspoon of brown sugar to tone down the strength of the Whiskey (Buffalo Trace) but not for the Whiskey to lose it's purpose. I will most certainly get it again. They also have a food menu just in case you want to order something to eat. Next time I'm in College Station and staying at The George Hotel, I'm coming back. Good job everyone that worked, this past Thursday and Friday night.

With that look comes upscale prices. You'd think the prices would match the experience but as with most hotel restaurants, they do not. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of food and drink options here and some deliver such as the Pine & Petal cocktail which is as pretty as it is tasty with the hibiscus, pineapple, mint and lime mixed with buffalo trace. And I enjoyed the Walt Blue Jay Pinot Noir which was a generous pour delivered. As for service, it's the definition of inconsistent. When I sat down, they greeted me within a couple minutes and poured my wine immediately and let me sip it in peace. So far so good. But when I finished, they approached and asked me if I'd like another drink which I replied about the Pine & Petal cocktail. They put it in and then the bartenders go to some other guests and chit chat about some contest they are setting up with the soda gun and building some paper boat to float down it with the person building the best paper boat getting a prize. I'm sitting there thinking are they gonna make my drink or do I have to remind them again? So they organize this contest with about 4-5 participants and then crown the winner. As they're celebrating, the bartender comes back and asks me what'd I'd like to order. I'm definitely a bit peeved since this was roughly 15 minutes after I had asked them to make the Pine & Petal cocktail. So mentioned that I ordered that cocktail a while ago. The bartenders realized their error and made the drink and decided not to charge me for it. While I appreciate the no charge, having the attentiveness to make the drink instead of focusing on the paper boat contest would've been more sufficient. Especially given the reviews commenting about customer service. Should I stay at the Stella again, I may venture here to try the other cocktails. But I'll probably just order one and be done with it.
