My wife ordered a burger and devoured it without a single word. This is how I know she truly enjoyed it. I went for two tacos (they run about $6 bucks each) including the Pulled Hammy and the Mama Migas. Both were packed with flavor and spicy enough to keep me on my toes. Service was on point. Our waitress hustled even though it was a chill lunch crowd. The bar itself has this cozy (not wide) historic downtown vibe with brick and wood and all the kind of stuff you see in those hip Austin places people brag about. The hostess was genuinely friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant has a nostalgic type atmosphere. It was also extremely busy with a very large party, so I understand the staff was under pressure. Even so, service was quite slow from the time we were seated until we received our drinks and food. The biggest disappointment was the food. Our appetizer, Bread & Garlic Oil was chewy, and baked perfectly, but the "garlic oil" had almost no garlic flavor and didn't resemble olive oil at all. I'm betting it was vegetable oil or canola oil, which should be a sin in a pizza place! When I mentioned it, the solution was simply adding a clove of garlic to the bowl, which didn't improve it. How hard would it be to use REAL olive oil and infuse it with fresh roasted garlic! We also ordered a specialty pizza that was supposed to have roasted garlic, but it arrived without it. The pizza was remade after we pointed it out, and the second one was better, but it still seemed to be drizzled with the same flavorless oil. The crust also lacked the structure I'd expect from a good pizza, with every slice folding over when picked up. I can see why people enjoy the atmosphere, and perhaps a classic pepperoni pizza would be a better choice. The staff did make an effort to correct the mistakes, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, based on our experience, the food simply didn't live up to the reviews, and with so many great pizza places around, I don't see myself returning.

Entered a raffle with an older couple for a pistol on the way out, which I wasn't expecting, but as the elderly gentlemen said, one can never have too many firearms. The pumpkin puree smoosh was silky and rich. Very restrained garnish of parmesan shreds. Excellent! The risotto was the same as the arancini filling. Just delicious. To be honest it's more pumpkin than risotto, but I didn't care because it was so tasty. Lots of warm spices but not sweet. The steak salad was a definite must-order dish. The steak was cooked perfectly and was very tender. The greens were fresh and the gorgonzola crumbles were ample. Great dressing. Ask for a small side of their amazing gorgonzola cream sauce to dip your steak. If you are having wine, stick with the Library aged selections. They're more expensive but definitely worth it. For appetizers, we got the Hummus Duo to include a side of their ranch dipping sauce. Every pizza was delicious and flavorful. The Motown Medusa was very different and strangely delicious. Even a plain pizza like the pepperoni was different and flavorful. Each pizza had great texture and generously packed with toppings. The pizzas are a bit pricier for the size that you get, but it's definitely better than a cheap Pizza Hit or Dominoes pizza. I don't care for Hummus much, but these 2 were pretty damn good especially the garlic one. They come with these little naan bread and these super crispy crouton-like flat bread which are great. They have a very limited menu so don't expect anything else other than some pizzas and drinks. Staff are super friendly and fast. Lots of parking. Lots of indoor and outdoor tables to dine at.
