Great food to enjoy with family . The people guided me and my colleagues on how it worked to get your food , everything was smooth as butter. Great seating arrangements, very nice rustic feel to it. Really enjoyed it

Came here looking for an alternative to Rudy's, which IMO isn't quite as good as it used to be. Great first impression; the outside just looks like a good BBQ place, and inside it's decked out in A&M stuff, and I love it. It wasn't obvious to us how to order, but we got that sorted out pretty quick. The brisket was okay, but there was a tough outer layer and a lot of fat, and I didn't fall in love with either BBQ sauce. The sausage was very good (my mouth is watering just thinking about it). The mashed-potato-style potato salad was fine, but not what a mustard-based potato salad lover like me prefers. Liked (but didn't love) the jalapeno & bacon macaroni & cheese. Oddly though, my favorite side was the FREE pinto beans that were at the toppings & sauces bar. They were really good! Bottom line: more I-would-try-it-again than can't-wait-to-go-back.

Fairly good place! The meat is fairly tender and juicy at a really reasonable price! Bar-B-Que is not my favorite food but Cooper's makes a mean brisket. I like to get my meat "baptized in sauce", as the waiters affectionately term it. Apart from the people cutting your meat (and the barista at the bar), there are few waiters as the beans (free) and everything else is self-serve. What I like most is the wide open layout with plenty of outdoor seating. The lighting is also very pretty outside, with a soft yellow glow illuminating a fenced-in play area for kids.

We've tried a lot of Texas BBQ. Some supposedly world famous. Coopers is our favorite. Here's why - BIG hospitable place. No standing outside in line. Nice sports bar & lots of tvs. Private event rooms. THE BBQ!! Prime rib, pork tenderloin, brisket ALL PERFECT. Sausage good, loved it. Good ribs, could have been more tender. BEST Cole slaw- it's a little sweet which was perfect. Would like to try more sides. Mac cheese seemed popular with our neighbors. Loved the pecan & peach cobblers too. Will say their BBQ sauce was on the vinegar side, not to our taste. But try them out. Highly recommend Coopers.

Eating outside so the grandkids can enjoy the restaurant too!

I want to make it 4.5 stars! The BBQ is great, prices can be high. However the quality and amount is perfect. I've tried the sausages, ribs and the brisket for the meats. Brisket is amazing, I ask for it to be wet (You know -- have some fat on it) The sides are a great compliment to the meats. Cole slaw, jalapeños bacon Macaroni N Cheese and creamed corn are my favorites. Cooper's is a small Texas BBQ Chain, however they are set apart from all those other joints. They provide a full bar (which is where that half star comes in--later) a place for the kids and adults to enjoy the food and play allowing you to have that backyard type environment, while still getting restaurant quality food. My family and I have opted to sit out in the Texas Summer Heat in order to give the little ones a place to run around safely and without bothering others enjoying a meal in the restaurant. Though it's HAWT, the fans provided help tremendously and once you have a pitcher of beer or some of their ice tea it is much more bearable. After all it wouldn't be a backyard in Texas if it was air conditioned! You can have all the bbq beans you want. They have a self serve for sides such as onions, pickles, jalapeños and sauce. Now for the bar. This place gets busy. They do not seem to have a dedicated Bartender (or at least not the 3 times I've eaten there on a Saturday afternoon). So waiting for someone to come to the very large bar to pour us a pitcher or make a drink is the only downfall. Price of pitchers are great. The bartenders have been wonderful, they see we were waiting and insisted on bringing everything out to our tables. The staff when ordering food walk you through all the way until you pay. With a family, definitely order the "Friend's Feast" there is something for everyone and if you want an extra side the prices are affordable. Especially for that picky eater. I will grab actual food pictures the next time we go. I typically am having too much fun watching the grandkids run around.

Spud special

Some of the best BBQ I've ever had. I got the spud special and it was a brisket filled baked potato with a side and a drink. You can choose to get the smeller sized side and get two - so I chose cream corn and green beans. LOVED both. Beans and bread and pickles are served in the seating area so it's serve yourself. I wish the baked potato came made for me, or on an actual plate.

You're not gonna find anything exotic on their menu, you're gonna find the barbecue basics. Brisket, turkey, sausage. What they're known for is quick service and their sauce. Rudy's has two different kinds of sauces to make you happy with whatever you end up getting. Unlike a lot of other places, you can order by the quarter pound if you like. They don't force you to buy a pound like some of the beaver themed restaurants out there. I grabbed some turkey and their jalapeño cheddar sausage and hit the road to Louisiana. It was a great lunch on the road. No arguments.

I will explain the 4 stars. I recalled the first time I went here, the food was really delicious,…read morewhich is why I returned. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and potato salad today. It was really about a 2.5 star, because despite the sauce I put on, the meat had a dry texture. I don't mean dried out, it was moist, but I guess maybe the particular piece of pork for the pulled pork that made it into my sandwich didn't have enough fat content or something? That's the texture I'm trying to describe, like it was moist but it wasn't "soft" if that makes sense. So the mouth feel was off and made the whole thing just not taste good. I couldn't really get the flavor except for the packaged bbq sauce which was "okay". The potato salad was very overpowering with a strong vinegar flavor. BUT... the reason this review still gets 4 stars is because of the friendly and helpful staff both at the front and back counters! I don't take that for granted. Sadly I don't always walk into a restaurant and get great friendly service. It made me feel good as a customer. I had an opposite experience with another barbecue competitor in town. So thank you Rudy's for your welcoming hospitality, and I will be back again. But I think I'll try something else next time.

We were BLOWN AWAY by the number of college students, dressed in their Sunday's best, openly praying over their food before enjoying some awesome chicken. It was SO NICE TO SEE! We ordered a family meal (20 pieces), 2 sides of fries and a chicken sandwich meal. We paid around $40. Great value! The food came out quick and arrived hot and fresh. I had a slight "issue" where I thought my chicken wasn't fully cooked and the manager reassured me that it was just breading but happily remade my sandwich to give me peace of mind. I REALLY appreciated that. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals, literally leaving "not a fry left behind." The size of my chicken on the sandwich was HUGE- had to be hanging off the roll by 2" on each side! Staff were phenomenal. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Love the laid back decor. My wife got mac n cheese with hers and really enjoyed every bite. The cashier was nice and attentive. The atmosphere is great for a lunch or dinner date. I ordered the two meat plate with brisket and sliced pork belly. I loved the flavor of the pork belly. It was cooked well, and the outside had a savory, yet sweet taste that was so good. The brisket I had and the sausage and ribs my husband had were average and not memorable. The pickled onions helped them taste better. I appreciated the monthly side special - green bean casserole and sweet potato casserole. Both were delicious and quite filling. My husband liked the mashed potatoes he selected. My child, who normally eats all the French fries first left quit a few, so I'm guessing the tenders tasted better. As for the customer service, hardly anyone behind the line or at the register looked like they wanted to be there. The girls at the register charged us for an extra cup although a small one came with the kid's meal. Then the music. I expected country music (even though I'm not a huge country music fan). Rock music was playing, and while I love Stone Temple Pilots, hearing "Creep" around Noon at a restaurant on a Sunday morning was different. If I come back to C&J's, I'll probably head to a different location.

Frank's Country Store & BBQ is a hidden gem in the BCS area. Let me say right off the bat, as a native Texan who has eaten at a majority of the Texas Top-50 Barbecue joints, I judge all barbecue joints by their brisket. In Texas brisket is king, and if you can't smoke a brisket properly, you might as well hang it up. I really could care less about sides, as basically anything will do. And, I do like to try some sausage in most of Texas' good barbecue joints, as a lot of towns have different sausage recipes. I assume Frank's uses Slovacek sausage, since it's the king sausage of the BCS area. Frank's has some GREAT BRISKET! Nothing more to say.

Then, I simply picked wrong when I chose two meats for starters; I didn't care for the seasoning on the Spicy Beef Bulgogi or the Spicy Calamari. I also ordered eggplant, and what I got looked exactly like what my wife had recently thrown out at home because it was too old. You know how they constantly scrape the grille clean at a Mongolian BBQ? There's no way to do that here. When we asked if there was, the answer was "I'll get you a new one", which did temporarily solve the problem, but the new surface soon had a blackened coating no different from the one before. Finally I had the sense to order Garlic Shrimps [sic], which I recommend, but as I was cooking it, it seemed like it was taking a long time. Eventually I looked at the controls at the side of the table, and our burner was turned off! I turned it back on and we finished our meal.
