    Smothered green chile fries

Not sure why this only has 3.5 stars. We enjoyed it. Funky roadhouse vibe, friendly staff, and great micheladas. This is the original DDD on Guy Fieri's show. Share an order of mild green chile smothered fries with the table. It's loaded with cheese over crispy home fries. Order their famed biscuits and gravy for the table, too. Really excellent gravy (although I prefer more sausage in it). Boudin breakfast taco, green chile breakfast burrito, and a Philly cheese steak rounded out our tasty brunch. Recommended.

Amazing little spot outside College Station. Arrived at early on Saturday morning for brunch. No line. Plenty of tables. Counter service. Traditional breakfast menu. Had huevos rancheros, bacon&eggs and French toast. It all came out fast- hot and fresh! Everything was so delicious. A timeless classic when in town!

Finally got around to checking this place out and wow, was it good!! The country, farm house vibe keeps this from feeling like a traditional diner, even with the actual tin can diner sitting out back! The menu is small but mighty. Variations on diner specials... breakfast (Southern/ American and Mexican delights) as well as their takes on diner fare. We had the sausage scramble and the huevos rancheros. The scramble is served in a small cast iron skillet. The bottom layer is cheese grits, layered with jalapeño sausage, potatoes, onions, peppers and crumbled breakfast sausage. I ordered mine with an over easy egg on the top. Y'all! It was outstanding. The huevos rancheros were delicious but a little runny. The egg and tortilla base was smothered with cheese and refried beans. The breakfast potatoes on the side were crispy and delicious. The staff was super friendly and the food came out fast. It took me a while to get here, but I'd sure is on the list for many return visits!

Great breakfast! We had Chicken Fried Steak Burrito and "What Rich Eats." Both were delicious. Great gravy on burrito. Hatch grits and chorizo were yummy. Beautiful eggs cooked perfectly. Very casual, indoor/outdoor seating. Staff is friendly at counter to order. Food came out quick amd hot. Will return when we are in the area again

I've gone on two separate occasions for breakfast. Both times, the staff was friendly. The food was delicious. And the environment--Such a unique place to dine. It's no wonder it's favorite for many in College Station!

Food was delicious! Service was very friendly and informative. Atmosphere was very neat and chill. Definitely a place I will return while in town.

The iced coffee may be the best iced coffee I've ever had. The southwest brisket skillet is very good and filling and the cheese curds are bomb. All of that. An extra skillet And Three mimosas. 77 coconuts

They were featured on a couple episodes on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives with Guy Fieri raving about the food. I decided to try it since I've lived just down the road for over 3 years. I'm happy to report it is not overrated. It is a little pricey but I believe it is mostly justified on cost. My wife and I had the Philly Cheesesteak with fries ($12.00 + $3.00 each) and it was all delicious. There is a proper amount of veggies on this sandwich and the steak itself is tender but cooked to perfection. The menu changes all the time so I'm excited to try some of the other items when my sad bank account replenishes. My children had grilled cheeses which made me laugh because this may be considered one of the fanciest places on this side of town. But kids will be kids. They serve you fountain drinks by the can or bottle, so don't expect to quench your thirst here without dropping a few bucks. The service was really nice, at least the lady who helped us was. She was alone in the bar to help around 8-10 people and did a good job. The atmosphere inside has an old homey/rustic feel to it, with a lot of history on the walls.

Yes, it's a small diner, but it's worth the wait for brunch!!! I ordered the biscuits & gravy, and it was amazing! The home fries were crispy and delicious. The pancake was HUGE!! Was too full to even finish it! Highly recommend checking this place out! Love eating at locals!

This unique diner is worth the short drive just outside of College Station. We arrived just as they were opening up for dinner and we weren't the first one's there. Fun, friendly, and fantastic food.

Good food, long wait but games, visiting, and live music made it fun! Small amount of seating and long wait knocked the score down.

They warm up the table with this amazing cornbread & hot rolls Today I had the fried catfish with fries and coleslaw. It was deliciously light & flaky but so filling I only ate 1 filet. The coleslaw was the best I've ever had! Ever! And I don't normally eat/like hush puppies but I always try and thumbs up; different from what I've tried in years past. My husband had the chicken fried steak with okra & mashed potatoes which I got a 'it was good' response which really means... he ate all of it with no complaints. Lol very rare to get a 'fantastic' or 'delicious' outta him. There are no booths, which is my preferred dining experience but we're not here for the comfort! The table was a little wobbly but I didn't care, I love staring at the pie shelf while dining! Nicely country style decorum. Great food delivered quickly with a smile! prices are inline with the quality/quantity! Thank you! Happy New Year!

Breakfast cost us about $10 less than when we go to other chain places. When you have the choice of hashbrowns or country potatoes, get the country potatoes. They're cheesy and delicious. My scrambled eggs were not overworked. I hate that. Fluffy and delicious just like the pancakes. The cooks know what they're doing and the wait staff is very nice. The only complaint that I can come up with is I'm not a big fan of added sugar to my pancakes. But I know people love their sweet stuff. We'll be back.

Updating my review!…read more My mom, husband, and I went this morning for breakfast and to start off the place wasn't as packed we found a booth pretty quick. It did take a while for anyone to attend us, I had to ask someone for menus and to take our drinks. My mom ordered the chicken fried steak and the waiter seemed a bit confused on what the menu said. My mom was confused too because on the menu it had two of the same name items with different prices. Anyway he took her order and he put in for the " country fried steak" as he called it and she also asked for the gravy on the side. My husband and I ordered waffles combo plates and my husband asked for a side of bacon. When the food arrived the gravy was on my mom's food when she asked for it on the side and she asked to get it replaced. She got it back and once she started cutting it it's was actually chicken fried chicken. She didn't want to ask to take it back so she just ate it. The good thing is she said her meal was delicious even though she didn't get exactly what she wanted. She also very much enjoyed the coffee. When it came to my mine and my husbands meal the sausage on his plate looked pale as if it was left on the grilled for one minute each side so we asked if it could be slightly more cooked and we're super grateful that the waiter took it back and brought crisper sausage linked on our plate. Now the only other disappointment from my husband's meal is that he never got his extra bacon instead he was brought extra sausage links. We didn't want to send it back either so we just kept it and he ate that. Overall all the food was amazing just wish everything was given to us the way we ordered it in the beginning. I would still go back and eat there.

I noticed it's a bit limited on burgers and sandwiches but perhaps good for the area and easy for the staff to make. We ordered and added some pies, paid in cash for the discount and left to fill our cups. The cashier and another employee had conversations amongst themselves while we were ordering and paying. Felt a bit awkward since we didn't want to interrupt their hugging and or whatever they were doing. The sweet tea stayed mostly empty but lots of unsweetened tea. We dove right into our pies first. The Almond Joy didn't taste like the candy bar as much as an amaretto coconut pie but really good! The buttermilk pie was really good too. I ordered the chicken poblano "burger". The lettuce was sadly very soggy as was the whole sandwich. Thankfully the bun was toasted because there was way too much mayo. I noticed right away that it was just bland. The chicken was thick which is great but it was bland on bland on bland. No poblano flavor. I looked for the peppers. They were grilled/sautéed and thin. Soggy sitting under the lettuce. No flavor. The fries weren't anything special but the crunch. The tea was sadly tasteless as well. I really wish there was more to say. My mom's sandwich was just sort of...there. Nothing special to talk about. I'd go again for pie and coffee alone and only if I was desperate for something to eat. There may be better places to eat in town. It's slow paced inside. Good to watch cars go by and imagine what the place looked like years ago.
