    Queso Fundido

We recently visited Frida's Kitchen & Bar while in College Station for a game and date night, and we had a wonderful experience. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with vibrant, colorful murals and has a romantic, welcoming atmosphere. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Service began with complimentary chips and dips, which were fresh and flavorful. We started with the Queso Fundido--such a generous portion, and we finished every bite. It was really good. For our entrées, we ordered Mima's Pasta Poblana and a half order of the Barbacoa. The Barbacoa was flavorful and very well done, but our favorite dish by far was Mima's Pasta Poblana--delicious, unique, and memorable. Service throughout the meal was good, everything was reasonably priced, and the overall experience was excellent. We're already looking forward to visiting Frida's Kitchen & Bar again and trying more from the menu.

Great atmosphere inside with the murals and homage to Frida Kalho. The menu is legit Mexican with dishes like mole and chile en nogada. If you know, you know. It did not disappoint. They provide variety of salsa, including a bean dip that is great. Ask for the hotter chile de arbol too. The colifor appetizer was amazing!! About the closest thing to Tex-Mex are the fajitas so don't go expecting some plate full of some random red sauce covered in cheese. Definitely a great visit - can't wait to try and find a reason to go back for breakfast.

    Pozole

This place is perfect if you love authentic Mexican food. Their pozole is homemade and delicious. The only thing I would change is using cabbage instead of lettuce :) My husband had the quesabirras tacos and those there great as well. Give them a try! Kudos to Anna and Gavin. They made sure we were taken care of.

Why 4 stars? Because we had a mixed experience, but a good one, overall. --- --- --- I had previously been to College Station one time, well more than a decade ago and had spent absolutely zero seconds thinking of my life thinking about restaurant options in the area. Upon doing some food research with an upcoming visit on the horizon, I was surprised at the lack of intriguing options, but ultimately settled on Frida's, which looked to be one of the best of the bunch. We started off with some queso fundido and it was everything that dreams are made of. Why is melty cheese the perfect food? I don't know, but please add much of it to my casket one day. 5-stars. For my main course, I went with the birria tacos and they were perfectly solid. Not the best I've ever had, but above average. 4-stars. My wife ordered the fajitas and these were a big miss. I took one bite of a beef fajita and it was clearly very low grade beef. They didn't come out super hot (definitely not sizzling) and were a pretty big disappointment. 2-stars. Our son's chicken quesadillas were actually my favorite thing of the entire meal. In retrospect, I wish I had just ordered these for myself. 5-stars. The service was also really great - not only our server, but multiple people came to check on us throughout the meal and they could not have been friendlier. Thanks for a good Santa's Wonderland pre-game meal, Frida's!

Delicious Carrot cake. No nuts in it! 6.7.25

6.7.25 OMG, what a great place! The decor, service, food and the ambiance were fantastic. I really enjoyed myself here. The salmon and asparagus were cooked to perfection. My husband had the pozole. He said it was the best he has ever had. (Oh yeah!) And you know I ordered dessert. The carrot cake does not have nuts so that's a huge win! The cake size was more than enough to share and delicious! I saved half for the next day to have with my morning coffee. Oh YUM! What a wonderful little find!! I have already told my friends about Frida's. This is a must try!!!!

Went for late brunch on a Sunday. Best time to go as the lunch crowd had mostly cleared out. Service was prompt and mostly attentive. Complimentary homemade chips and salsas (plus a welcome queso) were delicious. Cocktails were uniquely amazing! Appetizer of Elote was nicely done on strips of cob drizzled with Mexican cheese. Food arrived warm and was inviting - Veggie, and Carne Asada tacos snd Chicken Mole. Very flavorful and a welcome departure from the usual Tex-Mex. The meal was not cheap - $120 for three including taxes and a hefty tip. However the experience and the food were entirely worth it! We plan to return.

What are you even waiting for? This is arguably the best brunch in BCS. Customer service was excellent, food was amazing and those mimosas... divine. The coffee was one of the best I've had!

WOW!!! I'll start by saying, ........ I rolled out of that restaurant, fat and happy . I've got to give a shout out to the best waiter ever..... Diego. He was the bomb. Two margaritas.... Yum! The hubby ordered flautas and I ordered the Carne Asada tacos . Everything was fantastic. We pigged out! Frida's is a MUST!!!!!!

I saw this restaurant be recommended on the Facebook page for TAMU Parents and we decided to give it a try when we came to drop off my son and it did not disappoint. The decor is absolutely fantastic (I love Frida) and the food was all great. We started with the street corn and it was one of the best I've had. We also tried the Birria tacos & the flautas. My mom had the menudo & we loved it all. The flautas was a lot for one person. We ended with the Cielo dessert, which are crunchy buñuelos with a cotton candy cloud. It was really good!

    Beef and chicken fajitas

It should be more of a 4.5 stars, but I feel it is justified to go with 5 as 4.5 is not an option. We stopped by for a dinner. Let me start with the warning - beware of homemade tortilla chips! They are highly addictive. Chips were served with 3 dipping sauces, and one of them, refried beens, was beyond addictive - we went through two servings of that sauce and two servings of chips without even noticing. We shared roasted cauliflower as an appetizer, and it was superb - tasty and generous. I took mixed beef and chicken fajitas as my main dish. It was very good taste-wise, but this is where I would like to remove half a point as I prefer meat and vegetables to be sliced thinner. Excellent service - prompt, friendly, attentive. Recommended.

Me and my family visited college station over the weekend and we had the best experience at Frida's not once but twice! Everything was so tasty from the barbacoa to the carnitas, the sopes, and the enchiladas. I loved their frozen margaritas. Not too sugary or too alcohol forward. Service was terrific. The manager made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us frequently. Can't wait to come back & try this restaurant again! I loved that their menu was labeled gluten free and some of the dessert options were gluten free as well.

Don't let the strip mall exterior fool you. What lies inside is a hopping little Mexican cantina with a great vibe, wonderful service and delicious food. The margaritas are off the chain, especially the mango. And on July 4th, they were only $4!!

Forewarning, if you are someone who doesn't like cigar smoke, this won't be the spot for you. There are some nice lounge type seating in the back to relax with a cocktail while smoking your cigar of choice. While I'm not one to partake in cigars all that often, I can appreciate them on a special occasion. I can't speak to that experience here as I came strictly for cocktails and to enjoy the outdoor patio as the weather was fantastic. I'll also say that with how busy it was, it was a bit loud inside, but nothing out of the ordinary of a busy crowd. Let's jump in. Service - 5* Immediately upon entering and approaching the bar, I was greeted with a friendly acknowledgement and asked what I was looking for. I had an idea but was curious to see their menu. After placing an order, the drinks came out quite quick as they have a good balance of bartenders, I believe three were behind the counter so running drinks to tables and getting them seemed to flow well. Overall, the bartenders are attentive and the wait time for a drink isn't terrible at all. Cocktails - 4* The cocktails themselves are very typical classics. Their spirit selection is robust and definitely worth a look if you're seeking a clean, straight spirit to sip. All solid choices and there's a range for what taste profile you're wanting to have. As for execution and delivery, I didn't find the cocktails to be amazing by any means, but for the pricing, we were quite happy. Pricing - 5* I think with where prices have trended this place is keeping it consumer friendly and delivering. Overall - 4.5* I'd come back, I found the cocktails selection, spirit options, ambiance and patio seating options, and service to all land. If you're ever in the downtown Bryan area, I highly recommend stopping by here!

But more importantly they serve excellent cocktails! They have over 100 different cocktails and from what I could judge from the couple that I had, they must all be excellent. I started out with a caipirinha which just how I like it - not too sweet. My next drink was a pisco sour. It too was excellent and both were super-refreshing! But the kicker for me was that they have cigar smoking section. Since it's not a cigar lounge, they have a tiny cabinet humidor, but their policy is that as long as you drink you can smoke your own cigars. I came prepared with my own cigars and that made the experience that much more enjoyable. Next time I'm in town, this will definitely be a stop! Finally, they have a sister lounge that is a speakeasy that doesn't even have a name. We went to the speakeasy after dinner and the drinks there were also excellent. If you go to West End, ask them about the speakeasy!

It was a nice area, furnished with a lot of wood and lights. The reception had set up a nice buffet, and 200 drink tokens had been set aside for guests, although by the time I got there they had been used up. My girlfriend and I got a gin & tonic, and a vodka tonic, for about 11$ each, with both the gin, vodka, and tonics being brewed in house. They were very tasty, although maybe not 11$-tasty. We came about 2hrs before closing so they only had 2 pizzas left and they allowed us to split the pizza in half so that I could try 4 different flavors. For appetizers, we got the Hummus Duo to include a side of their ranch dipping sauce. Every pizza was delicious and flavorful. The Motown Medusa was very different and strangely delicious. Even a plain pizza like the pepperoni was different and flavorful. Each pizza had great texture and generously packed with toppings. The pizzas are a bit pricier for the size that you get, but it's definitely better than a cheap Pizza Hit or Dominoes pizza. I don't care for Hummus much, but these 2 were pretty damn good especially the garlic one. They come with these little naan bread and these super crispy crouton-like flat bread which are great.
