Food was absolutely excellent. I grew up eating lengua and this tastes home made and was so tender. Fine Mexican food and excellent service. Ambiance is quaint and pleasant. read more

My husband and I keep coming back! The food is great and consistent. Service is quick, and the staff is friendly.

I visited here solely based on the multiple strong reviews for the al pastor. I left here after concluding that many Yelpers don't know the difference between al pastor and cochinita pibil. Maybe the kitchen here doesn't either, because that is what was being served as al pastor this day. It would have been pretty decent if it had slightly less cumin. Nonetheless, decidedly not al pastor. The barbacoa my partner ordered was well received. It was good enough she didn't offer to share! The table chips and salsa were really good. read more

The food is so flavorful and the service is very friendly. You can tell that they have regulars who come in, but is a great place for those looking to try a new place. The ambiance is bright and casual, yet so inviting. read more

My husband and I ate here for the first time today. Service was great, hot sauce and chips were really good. We both had the beef enchiladas. They were the best we've had, they season their ground beef. Our new favorite place. read more

The food is great and the service is excellent the personnel make you feel like right at home as if your mom was cooking for you and the food is second to none read more

Food bangin service was great cost pretty reasonable definitely will be back 10/10 must recommend

Let me start off by saying this I some of the most authentic Mexican food I've had in a while . Everything tasted amazing ! We got 3 tacos each which were very reasonably priced and the chips they brought out were some of the best I've had . However , i recommend being bilingual ( or speak some Spanish unlike me ) because there was definitely some communication barriers . As all the workers speak primarily Spanish as expected , just be able to communicate exactly what you want . Also, the sodas are cans so if you are like me and like 2-3 refills , that won't be happening . Overall , AMAZING. Eat here if you want some good authentic Mexican food. read more

Come here often and always get great service. I get the bistek mexicana every time and it's delicious. Portions are generous enough that I generally full and have enough for a snack taco later. read more

Literally the BEST authentic Mexican food I have found in Cstat. Make sure to get the pastor it is so flavorful and good. The service is fast and friendly. The ambiance is very homey and the restaurant is usually pretty busy. 10/10 read more

I was looking for a good local Mexican restaurant here in the college station, Bryan area, and I found it! To start, the chips and salsa were AMAZING, tasted like authentic salsa! I ended up getting a small menudo and a barbacoa taco. The menudo was so filling and was the perfect amount of spicy! The barbacoa would be great on a Sunday morning with a big red! Definitely will come again! read more

Was looking for a quick locatioj to eat, found thus olace by accident. Let me say i was pleasantly surprised. It is good authentic mexican food. Very tasty and have been back a couple of times. I will def be back i ate the street taco one day and the next day had breakfast tacos both were great. read more

First time into La Perla after getting takeout a couple of times. A bit disappointing, tbh. The table salsa had a harsh, vaguely unpleasant flavor and some of the chips had obviously been through the cycle at least twice. The verde enchiladas were good - best item they have imo - as was the beef and veg soup. The chicken tacos were meh as were the refried beans. Iow, it was OK but nothing out of the ordinary. read more

The Al pastor tacos are one of the best tacos I've ever ate in my life. Be warned though, if you eat here you'll never enjoy tacos from anywhere else ever again. Because nothing compares to how good these tacos are. read more

Very good food and loved the salsa! Affordable and large selection. No fancy but, really tasty. I had bistek a Méxicana

Very disappointed on how this place treats people ever since Covid place has been down hill they're short staffed and are slow food was good though. We had like two different waiters who didn't even check on us ever but yeah not going back. read more

I ordered the taco dinner platter and it was delicious! I loved the tacos and they even grilled some onions and put them on my tacos! Very delicious. Just what I expect from a taco. And a special shout-out to the red salsa. It packs a lot of flavor but it is spicy. So if you need your sinuses to open up, add the red salsa. :-) read more

Omg! So delicious and authentic. I'm originally from Mexico and this is by far the best I have tasted in the BCS area. You need to order the corn tortilla fajita tacos. Mmmmmmm..... I have lived here for 1.5 years and finally I found a place that hits the spot! The inside is not aesthetically pleasing... But it's no big deal.... The table was clean. But.... The restrooms were not clean and they had no soap. I didn't want to dock any stars for this because the food is that good! Happy eating and hope you get this experience for an authentic Mexican food delight! read more

Chicken Verde Enchiladas are delicious! My hubby got the Shrimp Cocktail and he said it was the best he has ever had.

This is our go-to Mexican place in the evening if we're feeling middle-of-the-road, are super-hungry, and are budgeting. It's not that the food isn't good, because it is...it's just...It's too brightly lit and the food is just kind of there. It's really authentic, ingredients-wise, but it's nothing spectacular. It's worth the money, which is not a lot, but other than the always-on televisions with Mexican soap operas, there's nothing unique or shiny-bright about this place that makes it anything other than something to do when we don't feel like doing something else. On the plus side, the people watching is always A+, and the portions are large. The chips and salsa are sometimes great, sometimes not so much. I wish I could rate it better, but after half a dozen trips, it's still only A-OK. read more

The food was pretty good, & the agua de horchata was perfect! Fajita enchiladas were on point, the rice & beans totally have a homemade touch....we will be stopping by everytime we visit Bryan read more

I had meant to try this place a month ago, never having realized that one of my favorite Mexican grocers had an affiliated restaurant, besides the taco counter in the store. Having been there, I'm not so sure they are affiliated. The place is easy to find, an is large enough to accommodate large groups, but was strangely empty. Maybe they get a large lunch rush, but other places I've visited would get pick-up orders steadily trickle in the late afternoon & evening. I decided I'd try their lengua taco plate, and my friend wanted the tacos al carbon. Our plates arrived, and I saw that the beans & rice on the side looked just like those at Taco Cabana. I usually don't order plates like those, because to make 2 $1.50 or $1.75 tacos into a plate, all you get is stale chips & boring dipping salsa, a glop of refried beans, and a scoop of 'Spanish' rice. If you take all that and squish it together, you have a Freebird's Burrito. The lengua tasted a bit like liver, and I had to dose it well with hot sauce. My friend fared better with his al carbon tacos. The meat was quite finely diced and flavorful, but was just a bit dry. Hot sauce fixed that, and he was pleased, although he barely touched the beans & rice. I merely stirred my beans, and tasted a tiny forkful of rice. I will return and give them another shot, maybe at the beginning of the lunch rush, when everything is fresh. But I didn't leave impressed this time. read more

Simple. Tasty. Made from scratch. Very nice hard working lady who seemed to be waiting on our table plus helping out in the kitchen cooking & doing a pretty decent job of it. We had breakfast which was good. Most taqueria type places have breakfast specials that range from 1.99 to 4.99 from opening until about 11am but not here. Regular prices here for breakfast, which was not expensive but I thought I would mention it since it seemed so not the norm; I understand though because I know the bills have to be paid. The portion sizes seemed normal or regular which is fine but I guess compared to this bigger and better world of ours I may be kinda spoiled as well as glutinous...lol I noticed that they are open late during the week (12am) and later on Fri-Sat (3am) which is a good thing I guess since most sit down places to eat around BCS close at around 10pm during the week and 11pm on Fri-Sat which kinda irks me at times. The thick tortilla chips are the best around town! Yes, I would definitely come back. read more

Our go to spot for Mexican food! Food is absolutely amazing! Love that they are open extremely late!

My friends and I randomly stopped here and it was pretty good. It's not the best Mexican I've had in B/CS however. I had the chicken pastor and beef carbon tacos. Good flavor but smaller sized than I'm used to at hole in the wall Mexican places. My friend had the tacos lingue and said they were awesome. The salsas were very good and the chips were very thick and fried. They have a beer selection and a very thorough jaritos selection. Would definitely eat here again, but not the top of my list. read more

Their mini tacos are great. I always get asada on corn and it never disappoints. Definitely satiates my cravings for Mexican food for whenever I miss home. Also, their hours are super flexible for college students. They open late!! It's a bit of a hole in the wall but honestly that should never deter you from eating good food. read more

Very good food. I always get the beef fajita tacos. Very authentic and the food will make you come back for more.

I rarely give a taqueria more than three stars because they are just not all that interesting. This is one of the few exceptions as these are easily among the best tacos I've had in BCS. The place is a typical hole in the wall dive, and next to no English is spoken. The chips are thickly cut and the warm salsa is addictive. Tacos on corn are similarly addictive: lengua, pastor, carne asada...all good. Not sure why they are so delicious here but that's the truth. Friendly women working here make this a pleasant lunch stop. read more
