Excellent service, excellent food. We frequented the Tyler location regularly and the College Station location is just as amazing!

Today, ten (10) of us walked into Javi's and were SO fortunate to be at Alysa's table. She was full of great information and knew all about the menu items, even the kids menu!! She assisted us with questions and suggested certain tweaks for the picky eaters! All this with an upbeat, friendly and positively sassy personality! We loved her AND of course the food was AMAZING!! Try La Brasa. Yummy!! All of our food came out exactly as we ordered and she visited us the perfect amount of times. Which means we never felt forgotten but she wasn't wearing us out constantly asking if we needed anything. Go to Javi's because their food is amazing, affordable and the atmosphere is great!! We will be back soon! Last but not least... get the chocolate piñata for dessert! WOW! serves about 10 or two, still hungry, dessert lovers! read more

NOT impressed! (Quick mention the road next to it is still under construction so if you pass the entrance, you'll have to turn around by Hime Depot) Walking in we expected a nice Mexican themed restaurant. They attempted making this seem upscale. It's quite white an sterile. Not really an inviting ambiance. But the chairs/tables seem cheap as if it was decorated by Ikea. We sat in the sun room area. You must go through to the other end of the restaurant to get to the restroom there dodging people the whole way. If you've ever been to Roadhouse...one of the most annoying things is how the wait staff is always hanging out as a group near the restaurant. Well if you're coming from the sun room side...each time you have that same spot. 6 waiters all hanging out in a spot. They don't move when they see you coming so you basically must forcefully bump into them and say excuse me to get them out of the way. Which comes to the underlying problem with this place...the staff.. All very nice people. Kids. Clueless kids. They are standing around lost and confused. Every time they walked into the room with food or a drink...they were lost. As if they had no clue what table to go to. People were getting up asking for a refill or asking where thier appetizers were. Dreadfully slow. Our food (fajitas) arrived cold. Not sizzling. We asked the waitress (who they brought in from a sister restaurant out of town that isn't the same restaurant and had only seen the menu 1 day) if our fajitas came with beans. She said yes but only refried. They never came. Was told they are "working on them" 3 times (how do you work on refried beans?). We were finished with the food before they arrived. Right before they arrived, we asked a waiter where our refried beans were. He said they don't carry refried beans. Then a manager came and sat them on the table. We said "you just said you don't carry refried beans". He said "no those are pinto beans". Then our waitress came. We had 3 people around us discussing beans! How are you a waiter and not know what refried beans are at a Mexican restaurant?? And it seems fajitas don't come with them (they come with this disgusting corn/green bean medley). The entire meal was a train wreck. Food was cold, over cooked, the chips were overcooked (brown and hard), the salsa was like water. Blame this on poor management and poor training for the entire staff including kitchen. Like I said...they were forgetting things, going to the wrong table, walking around lost and...well...frightened. Food was NOT good. I'm not a fan at all of Mas Fajitas but it was better than this. We saw the manager (who also looked like a kid) apologizing to every table for mistakes. We saw 2 tables get up and walk out. The table next to use tried eating tacos that were overcooked they slid it away as the other 2 at the table received cold food. When we got outside...well over heard 2 other groups discussing the experience and they (including us) said they would never return. One of those groups were pretty large (a family out of town). They said it was one of the worst food/service dining experiences they have ever had. We did try the apple pie (which was offered to us on the house). Very tasty. But...it's served in a fajita hot plate and is supposed to have a butter sizzling on the plate when served. It was cold. Like the kitchen staff had no clue how to make it. Maybe after months they will hire experienced staff, get a kitchen crew that knows the menu/knows how to prepare it/knows how to get it all out together, and hopefully they can get experienced management in there...because right now the place is a failure. Lastly...everyone had left. We were waiting for 10 minutes for a bill (nobody came to clean the table off after taking the dishes). Our waitress asked if we were ready for our bill ( we're sitting at a dirty table 10 minutes looking around...obviously we're ready). We waited another 10 before I had to get up and look for our waitress and ask for the bill. It was in her pocket as she was hanging out with the other waiters in the group blocking the hallway. We had a phenomenal experience at Javis for lunch! The interior is beautiful and comfortable with multiple options, including their patio. I had the ribeye enchiladas and my husband had Roberto's burritos. We did have an issue with our order (really more my mistake for not asking clarifying questions about the sauce), but they rectified to the situation quickly, and their customer service was beyond incredible. They even wrote a handwritten thank you note that was delivered with our check. They really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. I can't wait to go back! read more

Javi's had a great ambience and great service staff who are versed on dishes. We were seated promptly after making a reservation. However, with all the hype, it's hard to find a parking place without driving around and around at peak time. Go early or off time. Food was good, good sauces on dishes, one being the Tex Mex Platter. We also had blanco queso and guac which were both big enough for 4. Other dishes at our table, Birra Tacos that comes with a broth to dip the taco. Also the modern tacos which were 3 small tacos and slaw. The prices were really good! When someone brought out food, the aisle was blocked due to server placing tray on stand so hard to pass. At the end of our section at the main aisle was a rounded booth that the hostess seated 6+ people. It was tough to get around. Probably go back and get the mesquite grilled chicken fajitas. read more

Was super excited to try this place but didn't expect this experience. Walked in and the host told another worker what table to take us to, and she didn't know where the table was so we were standing there listening to the host try to explain where the table was located in the restaurant, luckily someone else stepped up mid explanation and seated us instead. Got seated and about a minute after we were greeted by a young kid. He apologized to us because our server hadn't come yet? And asked us what we wanted to drink and at the same time our actual server came up with chips and salsa. Idk weird interaction. Got offered a bag stand from another worker which was sweet. Sever was nice just seemed like it was his first time serving. Food was okay. Got the guac and added ribeye for additional $5, there was like 5 pieces of cut up steak on it. Got shrimp tacos and it was decent until we found a little hair in the coleslaw . My boyfriend got combination fajitas and was given a chicken plate instead so they went back and got us the right plate. He said the carne asada had no flavor and would just get chicken next time. Brought the hair to our servers attention, and the manager came over and comped the guac off our check and apologized and asked if I wanted a new plate. And our server wrote us a note which we appreciated. The restaurant looks nice but is really small for how they operate. When someone brings your food out they place on it on a stand and it takes up like the entire walk way. The prices were really good though read more

Food was good! I had the chicken fajitas. I opted for rice and beans instead of the rice and vegetables it comes with. Reasonable prices. This plate was $15. Restaurant is well lit, spacious. The round booths are not great for a party of 6-- not enough tabletop space for the plates. read more

Come in tonight and sat at the bar...they could make a lot more money on drinks IF their bar tenders were more attentive to empty drinks! I ordered one with our appetizer and couldn't get the bar tender's attention again until after we were done with our dinner. I know you are still working out the kinks but when you sit at the bar this is especially important. I think you need more experienced bar tenders that know this. read more

My reservation that I made a week before was not on the books but the team scrambled & were able to make things work. The margaritas & chips were great! Went last night. Had a reservation but still took 20 minutes to get seated, because there's only one person seating people on a Friday night. Table was dirty. Floors were disgusting. Silverware was dirty. Our server was honestly the worst I think ever had anywhere. It took 10 minutes to get a glass of water, I had to ask three times for chips and salsa. Finally after asking a random guy walking by, HE got it for us. Husband got the fajitas. They came and after the waiter left we realized there were no tortillas. Waiter never came back. Had to ask yet another random waiter walking by to help us. She said they ran out! It took ten minutes and getting frustrated to get the tortillas and they were undercooked. Food was just ok. What's even funnier? The entire place is a cheap rip off of Mi Cocina in DFW. I'm surprised they haven't gotten sued honestly. The drinks, the food, the menu, even the little silver sugar holders on the tables! Complete copy of MiCo but not nearly as good. So disappointing. read more

Food was mediocre and the staff while nice had bad service. Didnt check if food was right and brought out part of my food when we were paying. I had to ask two other people to see if I could get the rest of my food and didn't get it till we were paying. Waitress never checked on us and took a long time to greet tables near us when there was barely anyone in the restaurant. Overall 2/10 experience, probably will not be back. read more

Ihan was a fantastic waiter. We had such a wonder experience. The watermelon margaritas are amazing and the food is top notch. Birria is amazing, white queso so good, love the green rice and beans. The guacamole is fantastic. They put fresh jalapeños on top and they are spicy. Seafood enchiladas were so tasty too. I also had the mini brisket tacos and they were so great. Everyone on the staff has been pretty fanatical. Angie was so wonderful and we loved her dress! Oh and don't forget dessert the churros are awesome and the tres leches oh my goodness. We went to this restaurant about 4 days ago. I do not recommend it to anyone. The service was terrible, especially for a weekday night. Our server visited our table no more than 3 times total. We saw random key holders checking on us more than the server himself. On top of that, our table wasn't clean when we arrived for our evening reservation, and we weren't seated until 4 minutes after our reserved time, which was sign number 1 that our experience wasn't going to be superior. The one good thing about this restaurant was their salsa, if the service was good then I would go for that alone. As for the rest of the food... flour tortillas were rock solid, fajita beef had little to no flavor or seasoning to it, chicken in quesadillas had no seasoning at all either, and the guacamole was nothing but an avocado that was half way mashed up with huge chunks still in it. While the environment made it feel like fine dining, the service & food made it an overall terrible experience. Do not recommend, there are so many better mexican restaurants in the BCS area. read more

Ok, let me preface this with we wanted so badly to love this place. We've been waiting and waiting for them to open. If I could give negative stars I would. That was a one and done experience. We get seated at a high top in the bar, I love a good high top. The table hits me at mid bicep...I'm 5'5. I go to get in the booth seat there is nothing for you to push yourself up with...no foot rest etc. So I had to jump up and scoot back, now my feet are just dangling. There is no foot rest on the table either. A little weird but ok...Shrike 1. We order water and some drinks. Chips and salsa were store bought chips that tasted like plain Doritos. I asked for lemon with my water. He comes back with limes. I said, "Can I get lemon?" The reply, "We don't have lemons here." Um, what, your a restaurant and bar with no lemons? Ok...strike 2. Bar drinks were yummy, so the bar is a plus. We ordered food. My husband ordered fajitas, I ordered one cheese enchilada and one chicken enchilada with tomatillo sauce. We wait for our food. My husband orders a second drink (it never came)...strike 3. Our food comes out, cold. When I say cold, there was butter in the fajita plate that had been melted but had reconstituted, I thought it was mayonnaise. No sizzle. The cheese had also melted but had also cooled to a solid again. My dinner was two cheese enchiladas covered in chili that was actually cool to the touch. I told them it was the wrong dinner, he apologized and said let me go get your dinner. 15 minutes later, still no dinner. When my husband was done his food, I said, um I don't want a dinner now, he's done. The waiter looked surprised. So now we sit, 10 minutes or more. Then have to ask for the check. I can forgive one thing but this was just plain awful. While we were sitting I watched every plate go out, I can tell you not one thing went out hot. All the fajitas were the same as my husbands, cold. I worked in a restaurant for years from back of the house to front management. This is failures in so many levels, it's clearly run by people who have no idea how to manage a kitchen. No manager ever came by to apologize etc. Just go to Maria Mia's or Casa Monarca and save yourself the waste of money and time. read more
