I was driven here by a friend with no explanations, just promise of good food. The place itself was small, but never felt cramp, just cozy, and the lady who took my order was nice. I ordered The Porky, which came with 2 eggs and pork rolls inside a bagel. When I went to pay for the bagel, which was admittedly a little expensive, the sight of my empty wallet killed my appetite, or so I thought. When I received my food, the sight and smell resurrected my hunger and then some, and I devoured that bagel in a matter of minutes. Now I've never met this Zeitman individual, but they're giving Einstein a run for his money for best bagel in the CSTAT/Bryan area. Worth a visit read more

Perhaps the best sandwich I've ever eaten-anywhere! I ordered the grinder and it was delicious. This place gives a feeling of a vintage delicatessen that is so rare these days. Bryan has needed this very kind of place since forever. Artisanal in style and the quality is supreme. There are various freshly baked samples sprinkled throughout the store...sweet and savory. Good for light snack, meal, picnic food nosh options or to take something special and homemade to a party The Mediterranean bread is amazing too (a sample I tried while waiting for my sandwich). I met a happy patron sitting at the front who was as enthusiastic as I am about this spot. Good people. Good food. Sweet space and nice feeling. Happy to spread the word. Everything I've had on the menu has been great. Occasionally my sourdough bread is a little dry, but mostly great food. Especially the desert breads and cinnamon rolls on the middle table. Always so good. read more

Snickerdoodle was well priced and delicious. Italian grinder is good, pretty wet which is nice. 10 dollars for a big sandwich and chips, great deal in these times. Most recent time I tried the chopped cheese and it was great. Came on a hoagie roll and it was a good blend of meat cheese and peppers. For a small Texas town, this place is a jewel! Have a bagel with lox that are generously portioned, a Dr. Brown soda, some ruggalah- it is all good. As good as any bagel you can get in the Metroplex! read more

Fun place, great selections. Stopped here after seeing the Texas Bucket List review. But I didn't like the bread for the Italian hoagie - it was way too doughy/yeasty. Hoagies are best with real Italian bread (light, chewy inside with a crispy crust). Maybe we should have stuck with the Reuben or the bagels! First and last visit today, was not impressed at all. Had the cheesesteak, bread was awefull doughy mess. 3/4 th of it went into the trash. Friend had the Italian Grinder, same problem with the bread. The bread should me more like Italian bread, crisp on outside , these we just a weird tasting mass of dough. There were flies all over the place, the counter where you are checked out is a mess. The few tables where you eat have not been wipe clean for quite a while. From all the hype and comments on social media we were expecting something worth eating, this did not happen. read more

Very few things in life are perfect. But Zeitman's....perfect indeed. Excellent, kind and helpful staff. Awesome baked goods. Bagels that scream original east coast family recipe. And Blake, who remembers my name and always is out greeting customers, even at the busiest times. I highly recommend Zeitman's. My wife and I both got hot breakfast sandwiches on a bagel and they were very good. They have a lot of different options for hot food, packaged food, baked goods, etc. It seems there's something for everyone here, including children's books in a vending machine. Not sure why, but I intend to find out next time we go. I talked with one of the owners for a while and he was very nice and helpful. We'll be back. read more

Speechless. I had the Lox breakfast bagel and freaking loved it. Blue Baker used to have these and now they are just smoked salmon (like I won't notice the difference?!?) - but I digress. The sandwich was amazing. The bread and spread was amazing. The pizzas are amazing. Do you see the trend? And the people are really, really nice! 5 stars for the amazing and engaging customer service. As for the pizza aka "apizza" it's closest you'll get to a new haven style pie, and boy was it good. If you know you know, 8.7 is what this pie achieved and for it to be any better maybe a wood or coal fire oven and then the apizza would be pure bliss. Zeitman's has more personality and better service than any restaurant in the BCS area. The owner of the deli greeted me at the door while he struggled with his label printer. After a short chat about the ails of ancient software, he offered me a sample of their chicken salad and pastrami (both made in-house); both items were excellent. I ordered the Italian sub, which was fantastic, but the cheese was cut a little thick for my taste (still a solid 8/10). As my order was being prepared, a woman working there (I assume she is the owner's wife) asked my opinion on what color they should paint the front door. After a fair amount of deliberation, we agreed that a glossy black paint would compliment the rest of the building's exterior. The hospitality of everyone working there, along with the unique decoration inside and out, created an environment I've yet to find anywhere else in the BCS area. I'll be visiting again soon and I recommend it to anyone with an appreciation for hearty deli fare. read more
