To be fair not sure why I got the poke bowl but I did it was terrible. Made me extremely nauseous and was actually just gross. Was served with a large portion of lettuce and imitation grab that tasted like mayonnaise, and two jalapeños. Was just an overall terrible item that was a recommended to me by my waitress. read more

My wife and I have visited the Lewiston/Clarkston area many times over the years. Unfortunately, we have never had the pleasure of dining at Zany's in Lewiston until February 20, 2026, when we hosted 13 family and friends and a very well-behaved baby. Firstly, the atmosphere inside is astounding. Every seat offers an interesting view, a fascinating collection of art, artifacts, vintage photographs, fossils, Idaho/Washington memorabilia and material culture including a vintage toy train that is elevated above part of the dining room, tracks and all. This is a cool place! This establishment has a sense of community, it's not a hidden gem to the people of Lewiston/Clarkston but a local institution, an iconic eatery, a culinary hot spot. The menu offers a gastronomic journey around the world. The sushi was on par with the best sushi anywhere. The California Roll was pure artistry, a delicate balance of flavors, clean tastes, high quality ingredients expertly prepared in a show kitchen in the center of the dining room. The Street Tacos, both fish and carnitas, Fajitas, Tempura Salmon Rolls, Shrimp Ceviche, and Crab Rangoon were a testament to the talent of the culinary team, they looked as appealing as they tasted. I had the Prime Rib, a generous portion cooked perfectly, and it literally melted in my mouth. One of the kids ordered chicken fillets and I expected the run of the mill frozen fillets that you can get anywhere, not at Zany's, they create them in house with fresh chicken, crispy batter and refreshing homemade ranch dip. Don't miss the signature Chicken Tortilla Soup and save room for a selection from their decadent dessert selection. Your visit will reveal why they are an Idaho legend. The service was impeccable. I wished I could recall the names of the servers, bartenders and others: they were attentive, knowledgeable and friendly who anticipated our needs without being obtrusive. Our large group received our appetizers and then our entrees with perfect timing, smooth and seamless, a blend of efficiency, professionalism, and genuine warm hospitality. Our Lewiston friends proudly proclaimed that the food and service are consistently excellent at Zany's, and they always prefer to entertain their out-of-town guests with visit to Zany's. We highly recommend Zany's. Dining here was a delightful experience from start to finish. The ambiance, professionalism, cleanliness, eclectic menu offerings, attention to detail were remarkable and the prices for food and service of this caliber are a rare bargain. A+ for the pastrami reuben I just tried recently. I had it a couple weeks later and was exactly the same, excellent! Rare that happens because of inconsistent cooks. I loved that I could get the exact same perfect pastrami reuben. That the pastrami was very lean with a smokey flavor really made the sandwich. I get it without the sauce, + horseradish sauce on the side. It's constructed well, so it's not a sloppy hot blown up mess half way through like most places, which I love. Whatever I do ever order there, I order with their house made potato chips. They are the BEST! Would love to see them try to come up with a 'nacho' dish made with those chip! I do feel Zany's is a bit over priced, but it's also a place I feel is pretty consistent with good food and good service, and they pack the house, so I'm not the only one that thinks this. I travel A LOT! And I have had some pretty good food/service experiences but this one is well worth talking about! Walk in and quickly seated at a small table because they saw I had my laptop and needed a little space. It's noon on Monday so of course everyone is working! My server, Cheri, was at the table instantly and knew I was imbedded with the Monday workload! So incredibly polite, quick and with an infectious smile! I'm writing notes on a napkin and the next thing I know there is a yellow pad of paper sitting in front of me! She patiently waited and saw I had a brief moment and in my time and took my order with a smile. I almost felt I was being rude but she could just tell business is business. She walks by, taps my glass and just with eye contact knew that I was ready for another glass! I know nothing of the restaurant / service industry except that I love good food and more importantly great service and this experience will live rent free in my memory! This was our 2nd visit to Zany's. First visit we weren't terribly impressed, but not disappointed either. So let's give it another try. Seated quickly at a high table near the bar. Our server was one of the supervisors (forgot her name) and she was stellar! Hubby had steak fajitas... not mind-blowing but still good. I really enjoyed the bacon avocado burger with crisscut fries. The food was outstanding. The jalapeño roll was a great surprise on the sushi menu for an non fishy treat. The corn chowder had just the right amount of spicy from the chili's. The brisket came with a knife and I didn't need it. It was fork soft. The potato was good. There was way too much food. We even stuffed in a creme brûlée'. Ugh.. too much food. Decided to give Zany's a try as we were in Moscow. That means going about another 30 minutes south to Lewiston. Ah, the power and allure of advertising. The Z pub was very well staffed. Although one might think a pub is adult oriented, this pub is very family oriented. The menu was a surprise as to its variety. They do have some sushi type rolls and they also have some plant based menu options annotated for you. (Not a lot, so don't think this is some wacky kind of vegan joint) Beer selection was good, alot of choices. Of particular note, the fry sauce had a bit of unique taste that made it one of the better fry sauces that I have had. Our waitress, Arielle was prompt, pleasant and efficient, thank you. Zanys is a fine dining establishment... At first glance. But the closer you look the more you notice. Like the dust and crumbs everywhere but the tables that are cleaned regularly. The menu has many options but the quality of ingredients DO NOT reflect the prices. Food was alright for the price but there's other places in town with much better quality for near the same price. It might just be the summer heat but it was +/- 80 degrees the whole time we were in there. Our waitress was covered in sweat and basically dressed in a tuxedo, which is odd given it's a sports bar. Also as we were leaving there was an older gentleman with a beard wearing nasty looking leather gloves with no fingers in the kitchen filling a plate... absolutely disgusting. read more
