Whether you're taking the family to dinner or out on a date night Drover's is an excellent choice. They are able to accommodate large groups as well, My husband's retirement party was held at Drover's Run. Top notch service even with such a large group. I've called in for orders to go, they are always ready and waiting every time! It's only a 20 minute drive south of Lewiston on Highway 95, Great for travelers passing through. There is parking across the road for RVs and truckers. If you haven't been to Drover's Run, go check it out! They have a great menu, It's all good! What a gem, in my home state of Idaho. We were visiting family and chose this restaurant to celebrate our parent's anniversary. The food was so good and the server was very friendly and did a great job, running for all the things for our group of 7. Came in and place was good. Very Country Side. I ordered a wrap and fries. The fries were very good and crispy. The sauce that came with it too. Nice quiet little place and western feel. The internet is dodgy but expected in areas like that in town. The waitress seemed like she was new and very you. She did a good job but has potential with experience to do better. I ordered the crispy chicken salad for lunch. It was a $16 salad. It came out with a handful of iceberg lettuce, a handful of shredded cheese, and 5 chicken nuggets. The waitress never checked back to see if everything was ok (it was not ok). There was one other table so it's not like she was busy. So after waiting, I flagged her down and told her that I was unhappy with the salad and this young 20 year old told me she made it herself to her preferred portions and that's just how much it cost. Maybe they need to employ a cook or manager to make sure people are not getting ripped off by a kid who doesn't have any experience. Also, their water tastes awful. read more

Had dinner there with my wife. The blond ale I had was excellent and the wait staff were great. I had the ribeye/shrimp special with baked potato. The four shrimp were run of the mill frozen breaded, but not bad at all. The potato had been cooked and laying for a while and about a quarter of it was too hard to eat. The mixed vegetables were terrible, very bland and had no taste. I order my steak rare because I like the flavor even though they are a bit chewier, it had a very good grilled flavor but was a bit tougher than it should have been. We got there early and there was no excuse for the way the food was served. We have been there several times and their sandwiches, burgers and bbq are pretty good but the dinners are overpriced and not worth the money. read more

Fantastic prime rib! Great decor and wonderful servers! I have issues with the 12 year-old boy who is the "host". I admire a family business and understand the need for everyone to pitch in, but the young man's manners leave a lot to be desired. I understand he is just a kid, but children should not be your first customer interface. read more

This review reflects tonight's visit. Past visits were generally good and this was by far the worst experience we've had. First off, I too am very disappointed in the menu change. The food that got us hooked isn't available any more. Tonight, one young lady took our order and then disappeared. Then, someone else brought our dinner, noticed we were short a steak knife, went to go get it, but never came back so we had to flag down a third server to bring us a knife. We had the ribeye which was mediocre, the veggie portion and baked potato size were laughable. We later learned that to get the potato loaded was $3!!! For a dollop of sour cream and a few pieces of shredded cheese. Had the waitress informed us that it was $3 more there is no way we would have agreed to getting it "loaded". We were left to finish our meal - and I do mean left. We sat there for quite a while and no one came back to our table. We had to go to the bar and ask for our bill. Didn't get much of an apology - just told that our original server was having "teenager issues" and that they assumed someone would cover for her. Hopefully you get your personnel issues figured out. We will not be returning anytime soon. Update: it's August 5, 2018 & we haven't been back since this night & when I left this review. We went there for dinner on Memorial Day. The service was good, however I was disappointed in the meal. After paying $24.99 for an entre, I was surprised that the vegetable was frozen green beans and corn. They do not offer any type of bread or soup/salad choices. Heard the best things about this place and was ridiculously excited to finally get in there and try it!!! Went with the gf and her parents and immediately loved the interior and atmosphere. Sat at a nice booth. Great beer selection, good prices. Young waiter seemed pretty cool too. We all ordered our food...and that's when things didn't go as nicely. I got the lsmokehouse 3-meat combo thing with a side of soup, Mac and cheese, and red potatoes. Mac and cheese...no taste. Potatoes...no taste. Pulled chicken...not terrible. Pulled pork...acceptable. Brisket...too fatty, dry, and eh. The seafood chowder was delicious though. Gf got a bleu cheeseburger. Not even that great at all, too small, and literally had nothing on it but bleu cheese(was supposed to come with grilled onions). Waffle fries were ok. Gf's dad wanted the ribs special! Sounds good! Oh...they ran out on a Saturday night at 6:30pm. So he got some other special that was mediocre. After that disappointment, we thought we needed more seafood chowder to make up for the overall lack of taste in our dishes. The server finally remembered to bring it out after about 15 minutes, and it was the wrong soup. After that, we didn't see him again for about 30 minutes for some reason as we all sat unsatisfied waiting for the check. Final thoughts, we are UPSET that this place didn't live up to expectations, or even close to it for that matter. Dry meats, flavorless sides, vanishing service. I'm not saying we wouldn't try it again...maybe it was just an off night on their part...but in the meantime, didn't live ANYWHERE NEAR great expectations. read more

Where do I start... My family and I decided to go to Dover's run for my moms birthday and it will be the last time we eat there. The service was fine and the waiter was nice, but the food was another story I ordered the sirloin steak 16 oz medium rare and the steak I received was very over done to the point of being a well done cut of steak and was so tough and chewy I would not have been able to eat it if it was medium rare. The hostess offered to cook another steak so I took them up on it and waited again for my dinner... The second steak was marginally better than the first still over done for a medium rare and just as chewy. They discounted my meal as a way to say sorry, but with the cost to eat out restaurants only have one chance to impress or people won't come back... And Dover's run did NOT impress read more

So extremely disappointed. Went there for a birthday dinner and out of 8 meals 2 were ok. My steak was so burnt and dry we had to return it, my daughters French dip was dried out meat and a soggy bun, my other daughters hamburger was so dry she needed a pound of ketchup just to take a few bites. My wife's bite size were burnt to a crisp and her baked potato was cold. It's like the cook took a smoke break and forgot he had food on. Will never go back. read more

I grew up in Craigmont just up the road from here. Heading home is always a challenge for food nearby that isn't frozen and off the back of a Sisco truck. We are spoiled with great food here in Portland. This place is legit! They did a great job on the aesthetics and the food is real. I've been twice in the last couple trips home and did not disappoint. The onion rings were excellent and the burger I had with the brisket on top was awesome. The sauces including the house made Alabama sauce is unreal. I believe I counted 12 taps and a great selection beer wise. Headed back with a large group in a few weeks and will bringing them in for sure. I will be trying something from the smoker / grill next time around. read more

Friends split the BBQ pie and could not finish it all. We all agreed that they do a great job smoking their meats and sampling the different BBQ sauses was fun. We had the smoked pork medallions and they were dreamy, tender, smoky goodness. Too bad they're not always on the menu. We also had the Sloppy Spur and it's was meaty fantasagorically delicious. They have a bunch of different sauces and they have a caddy so you can enjoy them all. Good beer selection and interesting apps. I can't wait to go back. Heard a lot about this place and finally had the opportunity to try it out. It was delightful! Real fun decor, BBQ, smoked chicken, fried ravioli (!), humongous chicken fried steak, prime rib on Friday & Saturday-the list goes on!! We sat in the Sports bar. After we were seated, the owner came to see what we'd like to watch-sweet. Lots of tv's and micro brews & wine, too! And, the service was superior. Another thing that I loved is that it is a family affair-even the owners' kids were there, working away and learning the business. The prices were so very reasonable and the food excellent. Stopped here on the way home from a river trip on the Salmon expecting a roadhouse atmosphere and limited menu. Found a pretty extensive menu and nice decor and atmosphere. Friendly staff. Prompt service. Good beer selection. Food was good -- we got burgers and BBQ sandwiches. The mac-n-cheese is penne pasta with a cheese sauce poured over it (good, but not what one might expect when ordering mac and cheese). Fries are good. Got baked-that-day apple pie a-la-mode for dessert and it hit the spot. If you're passing through and hungry, don't be afraid to stop in. read more

So, I haven't been here for sometime almost a year because of the disappointment I had last time I was there. Well this last trip confirmed my worst fears of the place. We walked in practically empty waited 10 minutes to get seated. Ordered and waited. Got our drinks mine was an ice tea that tasted like dish soap. Asked for just water. Got that no apologies. Okay. Waited even longer for our food. Food finally came my sandwich Po Boy fish sandwich a little undercooked. Still taste the freezer burn. It had no taste. Nothing. So okay maybe I could choke it down w some tartar sauce so I ask for some. Well 10 minutes later waitress brings out an orange ish like dip. So I sample. Oh not anywhere near tarter sauce. So just end up leaving. Again disappointed. Nice place horrible service. If that's what your in for. This place for you. read more

We wandered by this gem after hearing about it from a friend and it lived up to its reputation in every way. My friends and I all agree, it was one of the best lunches we've had to date. I had the fish poor boy and it did not disappoint (neither did the pork sandwich or the burger). The portions were generous and the food was incredible! VERY POOR SERVICE FOR A GROUP! Went to Drover's on Thursday night 5.12.2016 for a graduation party/dinner. I called ahead for a group of 12 by several days, so they knew we were coming. We were promptly greeted by a manager/hostess and told that she would put her "best server" on the group. We waited about 10 minutes to see our server, then about another 10 to get waters. The drink order, another 10, the ordering probably another 10 after that. Our reservation was at 6:00 pm. People came in after us, were seated and eating and done with the bill paid and go boxes before we EVER got our food. Food finally arrived about 7:30, an hour and a half after we arrived. This was really unacceptable. The food was so-so. Some was very good, some was dry/not cooked correctly. I asked for the bill for the group of 12, but nobody asked how everything was to the one person (ME) paying the bill. I ended up getting the go boxes for everyone at the table, not our server. Very disappointed and won't be back. read more
