We came here to switch it up from our regular hangouts and have enjoyed each trip. The place is often crowded, based on the appearance of the parking lot, but we've done well once inside (it's larger inside than the parking lot would let you think). We've come by on weekday nights and also for evening football games. Great wait staff each time. They have done a great job of keeping up with us, no matter where we end up sitting. We even had a booth that looked completely hidden, but we were never wanting for anything on any of our visits. Zanys is a fine dining establishment... At first glance. But the closer you look the more you notice. Like the dust and crumbs everywhere but the tables that are cleaned regularly. The menu has many options but the quality of ingredients DO NOT reflect the prices. Food was alright for the price but there's other places in town with much better quality for near the same price. It might just be the summer heat but it was +/- 80 degrees the whole time we were in there. Our waitress was covered in sweat and basically dressed in a tuxedo, which is odd given it's a sports bar. Exceeded my expectations, which is a great thing. Oozing cheese, fresh tortilla chips, smoked brisket, pulled pork and baby back rib meat with green onions and jalapeno slices. The medley of ingredients together truly excels these nachos. It came with a side of salsa. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at Zany's in Lewiston, Idaho! As someone who has never been to Zany's before, I was very pleased when I was greeted with a smile at the door from the host. The ambiance was pleasant and you could see that everyone was enjoying their dining experience. From there, I received amazing service from Julie who was nothing but helpful when I was choosing my entree. I started with a strawberry italian soda, which was perfectly sweet and creamy. The whipped cream was also the best I've ever had. The sushi roll appetizer came at the perfect time before our meals, and was also delicious. While I was already excited to try my birria grilled cheese, this sandwich exceeded my expectations! The meat was tender, the cheese was perfectly melted, and the broth was perfect for dipping. I would definitely recommend. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her poke bowl, and said the spicy mayo was a great touch. Visited here since it was close to the Holiday Inn in Lewiston. (Which is apparently one of the upper tiers of hotels here - Can't complain though it had a really nice view of the city and river) On to the food~ I got the steak sandwich with waffle fries and it was on the heavy side but the au jus helped lighten it up a bit. Waffle fries were pretty grand and the shake that my buddy next to me got wasn't half bad either. Zany's seems sketch and a bit Guy Fieri-esque for serving sushi and burger food but it churns out a respectable product especially for this area. Zanys was our dinner meal out on my business trip to Lewiston. They have a 55 Club which gives you a discount which is wonderful on a budget. We got adventurous and ordered the farmers Burger and it was really delicious! Dessert was Creme Brulee....can you say yum?! My moms favorite...so she loved it. They have a great beer selection, very wide variety of menu items, and a delicious sushi menu. I usually go with a local IPA, wings, sushi or a burger. It's fun to take the kids because they enjoy pushing button to activate the overhead train that travels around the restaurant. Had a great lunch here as usual. This is one of our most favorite places to eat in the area. Kids each had Mac and cheese off the kids menu that comes with a side and of course we ordered the children's milkshake. I am vegetarian so I always get the stir fry with the impossible chicken and it's always delicious. Any way you order that stir fry it would be good. We called on Friday at noon for a large party reservation for that night... not only were they able to find a place for us, but they did a fabulous job of making our night perfect!!! Anna was our server and she did an over the top job with our party of 18. The food here is terrible. I've eaten here 4 or 5 times, and it is nothing more than sub-par pan-American food (burgers, Mexican, pasta, sushi, Chinese, etc...). For example, I ordered a pulled pork sandwich, and they didn't even bother to toast the bun. Poor, poor quality and effort in food preparation all around. If I didn't know so many people who liked it here, I would not eat here again. Even my kids (children! What child doesn't like sub-par American fare?!) thought it was terrible. My family is a big fan of Zany's...alas, I am not. Not real sure why, it's just not me. I think it is the decor. Don't get me wrong, it is definitely interesting, but I am not into "zany". After having a few people tell us how great this place was we came away with nothing but disappointment. Service was definitely off. The waitress was nice enough but we had asked two people for silverware and finally somebody bussing the tables went and got us some. I had the French dip. I should have gone for something else. It was rather Bland. In fact, the bread was probably the most tasteless bread I have ever eaten. Meat was definitely nothing special. The jus actually wasn't too bad although it was excessive salty. My wife had the Bacturado Croissant. Again dissapointing. Nothing outstanding. The turkey seemed more like lunch meat than house-baked. Bottom line: Meh. *Note this review was made during the COVID-19 pandemic.* I ordered online via their website around 8:30pm on a Sunday night. I was in the mood for some sushi, and this place offers a decent variety of rolls. I ordered a tempura salmon roll for curbside pickup. I received a confirmation email after placing my order that I would be able to pick up my order at 8:53pm. (Mind you they close at 9:30pm so I know, I'm "that guy" that orders right before they close.) I arrived and parked in a curbside parking spot. Here's where things got a little confusing. The sign in the parking stall said "text this number with your parking spot number and we'll bring your order out" but the email I received said to call when I got there. Unsure, I text the number and waited about five minutes. When nobody came outside, I decided to call. When I called the two options were "order" or "speak to a manager" I didn't need to do either of those things. So there I sat, in my car for a few more minutes. After a total of about ten minutes of waiting someone finally came outside and gave me my order. I was the only person in the curbside area, so I still had no idea if the texting worked or if they just saw me outside. Anyway, the sushi itself wasn't too bad. I have lived in the valley my entire life. when I was younger and even in to my young 20's this was 100% the place to go. portion sizes were big, friendly staff, amazing food. I feel like once they added sushi to the menu the rest of the food became subpar and not really thought of. I stopped going because of menu pricing going up and quality going down. I might go back sometime, but probably only once a see a bunch of really good reviews in LC-valley reviews on Facebook. Most of the ones I see lately are awful which makes me sad because Happy Day is amazing. I think new team members are also needed, or at the very least some customer service skills need to be gone over. read more
