I would always come here multiple times with group of friends or even for date night with my girlfriend. This place used to be my favorite sushi spots as it was affordable being 50% everyday on the menu. However after coming to eat here recently last week, I found myself sitting in my bathroom vomiting for at least a good hour until I had went to the ER. I was told that I got food poisoning from the sushi that I had eaten as I had not eaten anything else that day. I would then call the restaurant the following day only to be told by the manager that "Their restaurant is the cleanest" and "It's impossible". The manager would then say that he would only pay for HALF of the receipt that I had paid for the meal. The manager did not handle the situation professionally and I am completely appalled by how they did not take ownership. read more

Due to it being close to campus, Sushi Yuka was a go to place for lunch. Since I'm allergic to all things seafood, whenever friends and I visited, I was happy to find that while they specialize in Sushi, they have a ton of alternatives for people like me, who are allergic to all sea creatures. In my case, I typically order a bowl of their tasty beef pho, which was always piping hot, big, and always took longer to finish than everyone's sushi rolls. The pho isn't the best that i've had, but it's tasty, and filling. Those sushi rolls I mentioned earlier are always discounted 50% off of their menu prices, but that's sadly not the case for the pho or other menu items! Located in the small strip that houses other restaurants like Talay Thai Cuisine, parking is tight, but i've never had a problem getting out. There aren't any red light exits, but if you're exiting left onto Old Peachtree road, it's not as terrible as you may think. This isn't where you want to go if you're looking for the best quality sushi in town, and it's probably not worth a long drive if you're not already in the area. I love Sushi Yuka for what it is though, which is a great place to satisfy your sushi craving on a budget. I didn't really expect that roll and pho would go so well together until I actually tried. I chose this place because my two daughters wanted some rolls and I wanted some hot soup. I ordered three different rolls for my girls along with a small beef pho for them to share and a large pho for myself. I ended up ordering two more rolls because I couldn't stop eating their rolls :) Now I can tell anyone that roll and pho are very nice combination! I've now been to sushi yuka 3 times and I'm now just confused this is a Japanese Vietnamese restaurant run by Koreans? Well whatever it is I like it! I really do like the fact that this place has both pho and sushi. I'm usually a proponent for a smaller menu but in this case they are able to pull it off. The pho is good and on par with most other places nothing unique but it's good. The bento box at around $11.50 is a decent price. Served with miso soup, a salad, 2 sides and a main meat portion, the bento box is my go to option for lunch. The portion is a bit on the small side but is a good size for lunch. Overall a 4 start place . That hasn't let me down yet . I like to eat here. I eat here frequently with friends/family for lunch/diner. Food is consistently good but the service is always so disappointing. We were there a little less than an hour for lunch. Felt rushed from the beginning. Plenty of open tables so we didn't rush out. As we are leaving we heard one of the servers say to another, "if you are done eating, you should leave." The staff was pleasant but when the food came out i was totally shocked to see a bowl of rice and noodles in soup with couple of pieces of beef. Even though udon is not mentioned in the name of the place, this is my go-to for some authentic udon. The portions are huge, and the flavor profile is as good as it gets. They also do yakisoba and soba in addition to pho (pronounced with a short o or "uh" sound phonetically). Ramen is good, but as I get older I'm finding texture is a big deal for me with my food. Udon is a thicker noodle and slightly sticky. It makes the meal more fun to eat I think. Their sushi is also good with some unique items on the menu. Finally, they offer a plethora of other Japanese street snacks like takoyaki and shumai that are hard to find in the metro Atlanta area. This place has become a family favorite haunt. Maybe I'm not enough of a sushi-snob, but I always LOVE what I get from this place. I always suggest this for out of town guests and they always ask to go back the next time they are in town. Everybody that I know loves this place. The rolls are always good, most are structured around spicy tuna, which could get boring, but they are still all very creative and different. So my girlfriend, daughter, and I decided to come here for dinner last night. The menu had half off sushi (can't beat that!). I had a roll with eel sauce and salmon. It was pretty good, and the rice was fresh. My friend shared her pho with me, so I could try it. I love that they put a bottle of sriracha sauce and hoisin on the table. The pho was really good. Yet, although the prices here are relatively cheap, the long wait balances this benevolent characteristic... Today, for example, we waited 30 to 40 minutes for our rolls. We understood that it was a busy Friday night so service could be a bit slow, but they also forgot about one of our orders and actually never checked up on us at all.
