We stopped into Wicked Sushi on a Saturday night after a neighbor recommended it, and it ended up being such a good find. We tried three specialty rolls and one cooked roll, and everything tasted really fresh. The miso soup was authentic and comforting, and the cucumber salad had a fun, unique presentation. The edamame was simple but done right -- fresh, not soggy. It's not a super fancy place, but we actually like that. The service was fast, and the whole experience felt easy and relaxed. We're newer to the area from NJ and still on the hunt for real, delicious sushi for our date nights, and this spot definitely hit the mark. We'll be back for more sushi soon. read more

Buford is so much less crowded during lunchtime compared to Suwanee and Duluth restaurants, so I headed over here to visit a coffee shop in the same plaza. I tried their $15 bulgogi lunch special bento box (dosirak), which also had a sushi roll. Loved that the bulgogi had vegetables mixed in for a more balanced meal. I really wanted to love this place since it had a lot of good reviews but NOTHING was good. The Ginger salad dressing was runny & sweet. The salad had too much shreeded carrots and cabbage, and needed more lettuce (looks like coleslaw mix)-not worth $5 The Miso soup was not hot (lukewarm) with no flavor. The Broth was weak. More than half of the menu options are spicy. It was Cold inside & we didn't have a definite server. Both girls kept waiting on us which kind of got annoying because both of them would ask over and over if you were ready to order and then both of them brought the check. It was $1.50 extra for cream cheese The chicken Katsu came with the sauce already on it so then it's soggy if you wanna eat it later, but without it, it really had no flavor. Today I had a taste for sushi. Looking for a nearby sushi restaurant. I found Wicked Sushi. Came into a very welcoming environment. The customer service was amazing. Considering it was my first time visiting, they made some suggestions from the menu. I chose the sushi rolls, Kiss of Fire, and the Super Crunch to go. It was raining pretty hard at the time so I also got a cup of miso soup while I was waiting. The soup was good. Again, I got my sushi to go. But while driving I had to take a bite from both rolls. The service was minimal but efficient. The server wasn't chatty, which is fine with us, but there were two occasions when we waited longer than is normal for her to return. I got a regular shrimp tempura roll and a specialty golden spicy tuna roll. The rolls came out quickly. Both were heavily shrouded with rice. The shrimp roll had a mix in that was heavily sugared. The spicy tuna tasted bitter and was bland (no spice). Again I am gonna think it was my selection but I did not eat it. Small salad (basically lettuce/cabbage/carrots with ginger dressing). Miso soup. My husband got shrimp teriyaki with white rice off the dinner menu. It was good. You will have to ask for yum yum sauce. Service: our wait was about 15 minutes for a table. We came at what I would consider the end of a lunch rush (1:30PM). Our server wasn't Uber friendly or anything, just took the order. Once food arrived, she was scarce but again the restaurant was busy. I had to ask a different server for wasabi and ginger with my sushi although my initial server said it came with it. Ambience: basic, small business setting. One TV with a holiday screensaver and some K POP music playing. Dim but not dark. I would not suggest this for large groups as I don't even think they have tables to fit groups of larger than 5/6. However, it still has a very cozy and authentic ambiance. Plenty of parking too! The sushi menu is online and very extensive. There is an option for everyone literally. I found myself falling for the hype and trying the Viking roll. It literally comes to you on fire which is pretty cool. It taste to me like a sushi bake which would've been good if it didn't have the random pieces of lemon in it. Since it's on fire literally it does take a moment to cool down so that is something to note. The Rainbow ocean roll was my favorite. 10 rolls for $17 is a steal in my book. Hmmm... the food was decent had the: Viking roll, the Chu Chu, chicken fried rice and the California roll. As far as the rolls, the Viking looked good in theory with the whole fire show, it was not my favorite though others at my table enjoyed it more than I did. The Chu Chu was quite tasty, I really enjoyed the seared white fish and the flavors with this roll. Chicken fried rice was not my favorite. California rolls were a simple, regular roll, really can't mess that up. It was fine. Lastly, the service-- service can make or break an experience and sadly, this was one of those. At every sushi restaurant I've eaten at (and I've had numerous experiences), you're provided with side dishes for soy sauce and small plates for the sharables. Unfortunately, we did not receive plates, asked for plates and those came "after" most of the rolls were gone, yet the table seated next to us received those at hello and continued to receive check-ins... our experience was entirely different, but why? We asked for napkins and... she literally brought 2 napkins to a table of four (with kids)... ‍ and looked crazy when we asked for more, I'll include a pic for reference. The last straw was that we placed another order and I told the waitress I would place another order once I figured out the next roll (I was actively looking at the options), next thing we know we received the bill. At that point, I no longer wanted to spend another dime here. Definitely disappointed with imitation crab meat when I saw the "crab lover" after I got home. The description had a little but it wasn't spicy at all and was sweet. The only thing I don't like about this place is the seating. Due to COVID I was expecting to be seated further away from other customers. But we were seated right next to 2 other tables. It was kinda tight to where I had to scoot my chair in, so other customers can get pass. I love agedashi tofu and get it every chance I get. I was a little disappointed it didn't come with the signature sauce you usually get with it. The Wicked Mandu is like crab Rangoon but with eel sauce and sweet and sour sauce drizzled over it. It was delicious and everyone enjoyed it. You must try the Viking roll! It's brought out in a dish that's literally on FIRE . You must wait until the fire goes out before eating. They adhere to social distancing and require reservations (thankfully, we pulled up right as they were opening at 5 p.m. and just called the phone # on the door to "make our reservation" and then walk in to be seated at the sushi bar. This was my daughter's first sushi experience and she'd built it up for so long that I'm truly glad that Wicked Sushi didn't disappoint. The husband and wife owners are SO nice, and there was an elderly gentleman who came out from the kitchen to check on us too and he was just as warm. Wanted to keep our order fairly simple for her newbie tastes, so we went with The Mall of Georgia, OTL, and nabe udon. 3 "entrees" for the 2 of us gals was alot, but because it was so tasty, we didn't have any leftovers.
