The service is nice and quick with the ambiance depending on the day and time. We got the Crab Rangoon, Spider Roll, and Tiger Crunch Roll. The Crab Rangoon was delicious! It came out super hot with some sweet chili sauce. My boyfriend thought that his Spider Roll was average. There was too much rice for his liking. I enjoyed my Tiger Crunch Roll as I really only like crab and shrimp tempura when it comes to sushi... there was a lot of rice but it made for a filling meal for me. Team, I gotta say I love this restaurant!! Staff are SO incredibly friendly & welcoming! I reviewed a while ago the handrolls were getting skimpy but everything else still wonderful!!! I stopped getting handroll, no big deal. Family cravings hit so I went in for a to go, which I always do. I mentioned the handrolls & showed pictures of 1 yr ago & this past August. Let me say they profusely apologied. I guess she was the manager?! She said if something is not to satisfaction, let them know. I heard her share with other staff. PLEASE DO NOT abuse the kindness! These folks really work hard to maintain their restaurant & serve us in the best ways. Don't just complain to complain. Be polite, be positive, bring up ACTUAL concerns & move on. I ordered the tonkatsu (pictured) but also the cucumber salad appetizer (not pictured) and a spicy tuna roll (not pictured). Service was good and prompt...seat yourself, someone takes your order and brings the food to you, and you pay at the counter. The tonkatsu was delicious (and I'm a big tonkatsu fan). The tonkatsu was well cooked...not overcooked (which is a common mistake) so that the meat was still tender with the right amount of crunch with the breading (not a heavy breading, which I appreciate). This came with miso soup. The cucumber salad appetizer was refreshing and light. And 50% off all rolls...can't go wrong with that! I had leftovers to take back with me for lunch the next day. I've been here 2 times within the week and both times I had to grab a menu myself. If you are searching for affordable sushi I 10/10 recommend coming to Yu-Ka. None of the rolls I ordered were more that $10 which is nice, and everything was made fresh and hot. I wasn't a fan of the Korean chicken, it was really fatty and I didn't enjoy it as much as other Korean chicken I have tried from other establishments which is what ultimately knocked my rating down for the restaurant. It was slightly bland compared to other places. They also did not give us as many toppings as others do, and had to ask for more. They have a wide selection of sushi and other food items and it's kind of overwhelming to look through because I wanted to try basically everything (cooked) off the menu lol. Went in to order and it took about 20 mins. Udon noodle soup: fish cakes and veggies. There wasn't a lot of fish cakes. However, the soup was very well flavored. But all of the rolls tasted very fresh! Wasabi and ginger were included. Oh and the good thing about their menu is there is a picture of each roll so you can get an idea of what you are ordering. Beef fried rice: very flavored and good amount of beef and veggies. Not too oily and rice wasn't too hard. Beef pho: (large) noodles, broth, and veggies/meat were all packaged separately. Ok, that's it. Today was the last visit to Yu-Ka we'll ever make. The service has gone steadily downhill for the past year - how a server can deliver food to the table next to us and not notice that we're ready to order is beyond me. Even an, "Excuse me" didn't get a response. The food has suffered some strange transformation from excellent to meh lately, perhaps it's the two twenty something's behind the counter? Finally, the atmosphere has a distinct flavor that isn't at all appetizing. Today, the music featured blaring (c)rap songs all about "my f***in' ni**as" and "my hoes" and the staff couldn't have cared less. At least they dialed down the volume once they were asked.
