The sushi and scallop appetizers were really good. So was the one hot dish that we ordered. However, I don't know that I would return based on the super long wait everything took. Had I known that we would have had to wait 30 minutes for our entrees to come out, I would have ordered everything at once. Drinks also took forever to come out. And I am not talking cocktails. Just a couple of waters and sodas. We had to ask for refills. It was a Monday night and not at all busy. I was very disappointed in the experience, since it was my daughter's birthday dinner. This is my second time here since moving to the area. The ambiance here is more upscale with dim lighting and a nice spacious interior. They also have patio seating available. Both times the food has tasted good and we got exactly what we ordered. The food does come out a bit slow (both time I have come were on weekdays so not sure how the weekend service would be). The servers we had both times were very nice and attentive and made sure our drinks were always refilled. We got the Sushi Dinner set. Very basic set, salmon, tuna, yellowtail, white fish and shrimp nigiri accompanied by a tuna roll. The nigiri is plain except for a bit of wasabi between the sushi and rice. We also ordered a rice free roll, Marry Me. It was very fresh tasting and goes well with the ponzu it is served in. We also ordered a few nigiri pieces a la cart: Whelk Conch, Scallop, Tofu Skin and Octopus. All nigiri we had was very fresh tasting and generous portion to match the price. Very Authentic Japanese food, hard to find items like the chawan mushi shown below in pic. It's a warm custard type soup with chicken and it's delicious. The agedashi tofu is amazing as well. I don't eat sushi but all my friends and husband say it's great! Great service, yummy drinks. This place has it all! read more

My date and I were super hungry after waiting half an hour to eat elsewhere and never being seated. We decided to go so I looked up sushi restaurants nearby and to my delight I saw Sushi nami! We were promptly seated at a booth upon arrival. The decor is very sleek, modern Japanese. Perfect ambiance for a romantic date night and smooth playlist. They offer an extensive wine and cocktail list. I had the skinny cosmo and my date had the old fashioned. We both started our dinner with a warm cup of miso soup, which was served piping hot. We decided to get several rolls to share as it was his first time dining here. We had the Big O roll (spicy tuna), heated salmon, NY strip roll, and seared salmon roll. Everything was absolutely delicious! Loved the food and our server was excellent. My only advice would be to improve the cleanliness of the restrooms and overall cleanliness of the restaurant (clear tables). read more

Went on a Friday night and everything tasted phenominal! It was crowded on a Friday night, but there were still enough parkings and tables when we came. We got seated right away. Appetizers Ginger salad was great. Something about the ginger sauce made it special. Miso Soup was flavorful. Highly concentrated with miso and nicely salted. Tuna Tataki was one of the best we ever had. The sauce underneath was tangy, not too sweet or too citrusy. Tuna was tender and lightly charred. Lamb Chops was so delicious. They did well getting rid of the gamey scent. It still distinctly tasted like lamb though. Meat was juicy and tender. I think the only seasonings were salt and pepper on top. It did came with a minty green sauce on the side, but I personally would preferred not to use it because it completely hide the lamb taste. The side arugula salad was equally amzing with cheese and some kind of dressing already mixed in. The only complaint is that it came with 4 snall pieces. Main Course Negitoro had fresh, high quality tuna on top with green onions. It will melt in your mouth. Sounds basic but the quality made it stand out from other places. 12 & 69 Degrees Roll had tuna inside, salmon and avacado on top, drizzle with mayo and Sriracha sauce. Everything was fresh and tender. Premium Nigiri Dinner was a good option of you like to try different types of raw fish. Extremely tender and fresh. Highly recommend if you like sushi. read more

This is the second Sushi Nami location I've been to and it's consistent with the first one in Alpharetta! The service and the food are just as great. The restaurant has ample parking. The space is big, open, and has plenty of seating indoor. They also have a semi-covered space equipped with a bar and heaters (at the time of our visit, heaters were coming), which is where we chose to be seated. We arrived on a weeknight and were seated and served right away. The place was buzzing, but it wasn't packed. We ordered the following: Jalapeño Lobster $29+ Wicked Tuna $14+ A couple of drinks Although the lobster shell had a light funky smell, the rolls tasted fresh and delicious. Our guess is that the shell may have been previously saved and preserved for a future presentation. We didn't attempt to eat the meat inside the shell. The wicked tuna roll was excellent. The drinks were on point. Love this establishment and will continue to support it! read more

It wasn't the worst sushi, but I don't think we'll come back here. My daughter and I arrived pretty hungry, so we ordered four rolls to share: Rainbow, Philly, Eel, and Volcano. I personally like to judge sushi places by their Rainbow and Volcano, because these represent a range for me. Their Rainbow was meh, one piece of fish had a bone, the shrimp was extremely rubbery, and I just wasn't overall impressed. Their volcano was not even close to what we normally expect--it was served cold (not at all broiled) and with just a very large pool of spicy mayo. It just seemed to lack intention or technique. For the price point, I really expected a bit more. Anyway, four rolls was enough for us, and it rang up to about $65 before tip. read more

The restaurant is nice inside and the server was friendly, but it took quite a while for our sushi to come out. Because of the delay, we were given miso soup, which was a sweet gesture. We ordered 2 sushi rolls, the crunch roll & heated salmon roll. I never had salmon sushi with cream cheese in it, but it was good (as well as the crunch roll). I got full after 1 & 1/2 roll, so maybe should split one next time. After tip, it was about $30. I'll come back for a special visit, but will go to my regular sushi spot in the meantime. read more

My daughter wanted some sushi, and I can't say no to that since I'm sushi obsessed. I wanted to try somewhere new, but I didn't want to drive far. I looked on Yelp, and up came Sushi Nami! There are two now, and I had forgotten that. This is their newer location, with the other being on Windward Parkway in Alpharetta. I like the Alpha location, but honestly tend to gravitate down the road to Natsu way more often. The interior is very pretty, and I loved the wine/liquor/sake bar area, how it was set off from the restaurant, and actually enclosed behind clear glass doors. It was very clean and spacious with good lighting. We sat at the sushi bar. The sushi chefs were very nice, and talked with my daughter. She got her fav, miso soup and rice and a side of salmon sashimi. The miso soup was a disappointment. She kept saying she wished it had more flavor. I tried it, but I'm no connoisseur of soup like she is. The salmon was fresh. It came with 5 pieces. I wasn't sure if they were just being generous, but when I double checked the menu, that's how it comes. Some places will offer 2 pieces, but here it's 5 pieces for $11. I got the ginger salad and the Hey King roll, which had crab salad and crispy onion on top. I asked for my usual staple, which is spicy mayo. The first mayo that came out was not very spicy. I asked for a refill, and they used a different bottle. For some reason, this mayo tasted "off" like acidic. I wasn't sure if it was sour or what, but it really didn't pack a good taste in my mouth. The owner actually was kind enough to give my daughter and me a free dessert. We tried creme brulee. I figured she might like it because it's got a vanilla flavor. I think she had issues with the texture. But really, what a nice gesture for them to do that for us. Service was very good. Unfortunately, we probably won't be back based on her miso soup, because that's her favorite and she didn't care for it. But I'd say to give this place a chance if you are in the area. I can't speak for the rolls but the sashimi was exceptionally fresh! I'm more of a raw fish lover rather than maki or cooked sushi person. I was pleasantly surprised at how good their fish was. It's probably some of the best I've had in Atlanta and greater Atlanta area combined. It's priced about the same as other restaurants so it's definitely top of my list! read more

It was late. We didn't know what to get for dinner but decided to venture out to a nearby sushi place. I will say that upon walking in I said "wow this place is really nice!" I felt under dressed LOL!The hostess that greeted us took our temperature which I thought was great because I've never experienced that living in Georgia! We were seated on the patio and the breeze was wonderful on this cool night. Looking over the menu I thought "Wow!" it was so extensive! Suddenly, I seen lamb sticks on the menu and I've never seen lamb on a menu at a sushi place! Feeling adventurous I said to myself "why not!?!" I am so glad I made the decision to venture off of what I would regularly get because the lamb chops were cooked perfectly and the mint dressing was divine! Hubby had the yellow tail sushi and I never eat raw but decided that I will continue to be adventurous and tried just one. It was so so so good! For those who don't like sushi, they have a variety of great cooked food and also a big drink menu of wines, sake, and cocktails. My favorite sushi are the 12&69 degrees, Tail Chaser, Ahi Poki and Sashimi Nami. The Duck Breast, Jumbo Scallop, and Black Cod will not fail you if you aren't feeling sushi. I used to come here when i was pregnant with severe HG and craving agedashi tofu. I don't remember the waiter's name but she commiserated with me while i stuffed my face and invited me to bring my baby when she arrived. Wonderful raw and not raw sushi options to please a group with diverse taste. This is probably the best Japanese food around Duluth. The interior is modern with an open sushi bar. People are super nice and patient. And the food is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend the Kobe beef nigiri- they serve authentic 5A Kobe beef produced in Japan!! Each order is two piece and the flavor is just unbelievably delicious. I've tried Kobe beef that are not at the 5A tier before and they taste pretty decent. The unagidon was grilled eel with rice. They also added sliced tamago in there which went so well with the teriyaki sauce on top. There is a sushi that has macadamia nuts in it. I ordered it every time I came here. I love the crunchiness of the macadamia along with the texture of avocado and a little kick from the wasabi. Well balanced! For some reason, my husband wanted to go to Sushi Nami for his birthday so we decided to go for dinner. It wasn't hard to find and parking wasn't bad but I was surprised at how fancy and modern the restaurant was, both in the interior and exterior. There weren't many people there so we got our choice of seating and decided to sit at a table for two. We were given two menus and a paper menu for sushi. If you want to order sushi, use the paper menu; the descriptions of the various sushi offered is on the last page of the menu. The menu has a lot of small plate options and they have a nice selection of wine and alcohol in a separate menu. Since it was a special occasion, I decided to order a cocktail and I forgot what it was called but it was something-blossom...I think. I do remember that it came out in a chilled martini glass with a whole slice of orange on the side. The girl who brought out my drink spilled some of the drink on the floor and it seems that whoever made the drink either filled the glass to the brim or the girl wasn't careful, or both. Whatever the reason, the girl just smiled, set down the drink, and left. She never came back to clean up the spill, which surprised me, and maybe I should have told our waitress, too, but oh well. Our waitress was very attentive and very friendly. She always made sure our waters were refilled and she didn't stay away too long, giving us enough time to enjoy our food. I ordered a lobster risotto and my husband ordered an unagi don and a pink diamond roll. I didn't think too much of the food until I sampled the unagi don and ate some of the roll. The unagi was warm and melted in my mouth. There were no bones to deal with and the flavor was just right; it wasn't overwhelmed with eel sauce like some places do with their unagi dons. My lobster risotto was creamy and delicious, and you know how some places, when you order seafood, there's only 3 pieces of shrimp? My lobster risotto definitely had more than 3 pieces. The pink diamond was unexpectedly good. I don't remember what was in it but the most important part was that it was good. At first glance, I was turned off by the pricing on the menu but after tasting the food, I can understand the price range of Sushi Nami. It's not a restaurant I would frequent, because I have my preferred places for sushi, but it's definitely worth a visit for special occasions or whenever you're craving some high quality food. read more
