Ordered 3 lunch specials for pick up at 11:15 and they were ready at 11:35. Had 2 shrimp with fried rice, 1 filet and shrimp with fried rice. All 3 came with soup and salad. Since it was pick up I tipped $7.09 which was 10% of the total, so including tax & tip it was $70.00. The young guy at the register was friendly and helpful by telling me that the only current menu is on Google. Yelp and their website did not have a full menu. This establishment has recently (about 6 months) changed hands. From what I could see of the restaurant it was clean and decorated very nicely. Our food was delicious! read more

I visited after hearing about the ownership change and was impressed. There is a dining area and hibachi area with 7 grills. I sat in the regular dining area, but I'm going to try the hibachi area on my next visit. Service was attentive. Fresh sushi! It's hard to find hibachi places with fresh sushi. Hibachi food was seasoned perfectly, portions were generous, and prices were reasonable too. I also met some customers who have been coming here for years so I think that's a good sign for any local spots. Definitely worth checking out! read more

Last night was our first visit to Kirin House. We moved to this area a little more than a year ago, and we're looking for a restaurant with authentic sushi. Well we found it!!! Our reservation was 7:30 pm, a little late for most especially on a week night. So it was not crowded. The menu listed all of our favorites, Miso soup, salmon, tuna, yellowtail nigiri, and California rolls. Very basic sushi, without the frills that so many restaurants add to attract the American palate. We were overjoyed with our meal and the service! My husband and I have been coming here together for years. We make the drive from Jefferson because we love it so much and prefer it over closer Hibachi options. The service here is always great and everyone has always been so friendly. Such a cozy little spot all tucked away. The gf wanted to treat me to a belated bday treat, and Kirin House had a nice atmosphere. I'm in-between a 4 and 4.5, but I suppose the great sushi prices (and enthusiasm of the hibachi chefs on the other side) pushes the review to a 5. The squid salad was pleasing to the eyes and taste buds. It had a nice arrange of various tidbits of stuff. The squid pieces were small, but it inter-played with the noodles and other ingredients that made it a colorful little appetizer. We shared 4 sushi rolls that had a wowing reaction as they brought it out on a grandeur display board: Crunch dragon: This roll was really crunchy, hence its name. Literally all I see was the tempura flakes on top. The eel sauce provided some flavor to this smaller roll pick. The eel and avocado sort of blended in. There was supposed to be shrimp tempura in this roll, and maybe it was encompassed within (I didn't really examine, I just ate), but I think the shrimp tail ended up in the dynamite roll. *shoulder shrug* Dynamite: The tuna and yellowtail roll was a hearty one, but the flavors were more mild compared to the others. The fishes sat on top with various sauces (spicy mayo, eel, and hot sauce) along with crabstick and avocado. I think the shrimp tail ended up in this roll instead of the crunch dragon mentioned above. Geisha: My favorite! The salmon with cream cheese and avocado created a creaminess in your mouth. There was just something simplistic that made it taste super delicious. The spicy mayo provided a slight kick in flavor too. Kirin all the way: The tempura shrimp, soft shell crab, and avocado made this roll a mouth full. There was a slick kick/spice in flavor I suppose due to the spicy mayo in combination with the eel sauce. I guess "big roll" being specified was pretty accurate. Overall the food was nice, service was good (the sushi chef also shouted greetings our way), and reasonable price. It's a good spot for a nice occasion or a causal dinner since they also have hibachi. read more

We used to love eating at this place but can no longer return. Which is sad because they are one of the better hibachi places that we've been to. I also hate to leave negative reviews, but this needs to be addressed so they can get it together and not have this happen again. Today we sat down - excited to eat here. The dine-in chicken and shrimp hibachi ($18.99 +$2 if you want fried rice) is great! I would not recommend take-out hibachi from here as the price is the same but the quality is poor. For example, take out chicken and shrimp hibachi contained about 1/3 of the veggies you would get if you dined in. Also, the ginger sauce was very watery and the taste of the fried rice was not the same as dine-in. read more

Really nice atmosphere for dining in as well as super pleasant staff when pressing take out Their food is tasty and plentiful. My only complaint and reason for 4 stars is due to them serving my Kirin Sticks (like crab Rangoon sticks) burnt for a double order I placed for take out. Imagine how tee'ed off I was driving 49 miles round trip just for Kirin House and realizing they actually served me burnt food. And 2 orders--around $20! Our go to hibachi spot close to home. We always get seated and started relatively quickly. We have gone pre and post COVID. We do like them spacing out the customers now and the paperless menu option with the QR code. Hubby normally gets the chicken with the bacon fried rice. I like getting salmon. Visited the Kirin House for the posthumous birthday celebration of my brother-in-law. My mother-in-law has visited this restaurant twice before and wanted the family to enjoy as well, especially for this type of celebration. The Service: Good - The service overall was good. Our waitress and hibachi chef were both friendly. Bad - Here's where things went bad. So, we started to notice that the plates and silverware was slightly dirty. My in-laws wiped off black residue from their plates which was noticeable on the cloth. This prompted everyone to ask for new plates and plastic utensils as well. When the plastic utensils came out, there were strands of hair around them. This honestly made us want to leave, but at this point, drinks were already there and food was already ordered, so we just asked for more plastic utensils and gave it over to God. The Food: I ordered "NY Strip Steak & Shrimp" from the Hibachi Combination ($25.50) with fried rice ($3.95) as well. The email also came with soup & salad. The combination tasted very good, but I don't feel the portion received was worth $25. Most of the meal was rice. For some reason, I feel like I get more for my money at other hibachi restaurants. Service was horrible. I will give one star but they deserve none. The food was below par. Ordered chicken lettuce wrap and it was greasy and bad. Paid for it but didn't bother to eat it. Tried to order a crunchy dragon roll with volcano topping and more than willing to pay any up charge and the waiter replied no way we don't do that with an attitude. Our sushi roll had old tempura flakes on top and trust me I know this because I've worked in the food industry for over 20 years and own restaurants. No sweetener substitute available for my unsweetened iced tea. Looked confused by my request for an iced green tea. They are scheduled to close at 10pm and by 9pm the music was shut off and light out in half the restaurant so basically a passive kick out. We were here for my nieces birthday! Ricardo was our chef and he was so cool! Best time ever! He was very professional and knew when to come in and to back out from a conversation. If we had something going on he did his thing and let us talk, and when we were intrigued he put on a show. I love customer service professionals who can do that flawlessly. Old Peachtree Road's best kept secret IMO. This place has the best sushi. Parking is a little hard in this small plaza. The restaurant has no frills and the other half of the restaurant is hibachi. My husband said when there is a birthday they put on quite a show with a kitsch Asian karoke recording where they say "happy birssday to you" super loud with lots of flashing lights. Yes, I do plan on coming here for my next bday and bringing the whole fam. Overall, I love coming here for take out and just a chill date night without going to Atlanta/far for sushi. read more

Cool place. Pretty low-key. Located in a small shopping mall. Private parking. The prices are decent. Got some sushi and some chicken teriyaki. Came with a side of broccoli. It was delicious, fresh and hot. Overall good place. Better than I expected as well. Services quick and efficient. It also has hibachi although we went on the later side so that was closed up. I'll have to try that next time. Delicious desserts too. We only got one sushi - but next time will probably get more and see how it is. Recommend you go here. The plum wine was good and sweet. Update! It must have just been a bad night on my previous visit. Since then, we have frequented Kirin House over a dozen times, and have not had a bad experience since. The Hibachi is incredible, as is the sushi. My kids are a little boujie with their food, so I love that their menu offers a Filet Hibachi Kids Meal. It's just enough for my 13 and 11 year old and doesn't break the bank. Great spot. read more

I ended up checking this place out after putting in gas at the QT across the street a few days prior and getting a good whiff of the hibachi. We got hibachi but sat in the regular dining section. As an appetizer, we ordered some sashimi. They were extremely thin and didn't look too fresh. I decided on the steak and chicken combination with fried rice. It was typical hibachi taste. Similar to that of Shogun. The yum yum sauce was good and the meat/veggies were not too salty, which I'm very particular about. Everything was cooked perfectly and steak was very juicy. The service was nice and fast as well. Very attentive server and didn't have to ask for anything. She made sure we were well taken care of. Mediocre hibachi. I read several reviews about this place but sadly it fell below expectations. The waitstaff was the highlight of this experience. My colleagues & I stopped here after work. The reviews were raving & I hadn't had hibachi in a while. The interior is intimate but welcoming. The food itself was disappointing. The rice was overcooked & mushy. My hubby and I ordered carry out hibachi chicken, veggies, soup, salad and "fried rice".... UGH WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!!! The portion size was significantly smaller than if we would've dined in. They still charge same price but give less food. Chicken was burnt and so were the hibachi veggies. Fried rice was really soggy rice lacking flavor with too much salt, definitely NOT fried rice :( so sad as this place used to be so good. Interior is dark and people unfriendly. I had heard about the legendary fried rice here that can be ordered with bacon! And now I can attest to its deliciousness. The full order is enough for 3 or 4 people to share as a side, but c'mon... before you offer to share, you should first try an order on your own. I also had my favorite roll, the avocado roll. It's pretty hard to screw that up, and theirs was pretty average. My friend had the spicy tuna roll as well as the OMG roll, and I was pretty impressed with the size and showmanship of the OMG roll. It looked amazing and I don't even really like sushi. Inside, Kirin House is dark and quaint. It's a small restaurant but it seats at least 10 or so small tables and there are two sets of small-sized hibachi tables. The place is not too big, not too small, but juuuust right. I was happy with my experience here and I'm looking forward to my next visit - I definitely want to try more things on the menu! read more

I came here two weeks ago with my daughter before heading to Disney on Ice . The service was amazing and the cook did amazing! I would definitely come back here again .
