I cannot believe it took me this long to try Mama's Pho because WOW. I'm officially mad at myself. From the moment you walk in, the place just hits. It's spacious, stylish, and such a vibe. The large green wall is eye catching, and the whole restaurant feels modern, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. The menu is stacked, and while prices are slightly higher than some pho spots, every single bite makes it make sense. Quality costs and this place delivers. The Pho: ABSOLUTE. FLAVOR. BOMB. The broth was insanely rich, deeply flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Total comfort in a bowl. And can we talk about the noodle portion?! Generous, hearty, and NOT skimpy. Total thumbs up for that. I literally told my husband this is hands down some of the best pho I've had in a long time. You can truly tell how much love went into the dishes, and especially the pho- so much hearty, soul-warming love in every bite and spoonful. What else we tried (and loved): -Fried Crispy Soft Tofu appetizer: Crispy, perfectly breaded, soft inside. Honestly looked like a little tofu pillow. I love tofu and went ALL IN. Zero regrets. -Spring rolls: Fresh, packed with fillings, and a solid portion size. Light but satisfying. -Grilled pork bahn mi: This one deserves a moment. Pork belly (yes, pork BELLY), insanely flavorful marinade, great balance of veggies, and that baguette... crunchy, soft, chewy, PERFECTION. One of the better Banh mis I've had. Period. -Thai iced tea: The only thing that didn't totally wow us- slightly heavier on the condensed milk than the tea for our taste. Comes with a lot of ice, so we'll ask for less next time. They also have some unique menu items like hibachi, lo mein & udon, and pad Thai you don't typically see at a Vietnamese restaurant, which I'm all for trying anything Mama makes. It makes me even more excited to come back. Definitely planning to try some of the other entree options next time. Service was friendly, fast, and on point. Tables were constantly cleaned and turned over without feeling rushed. Bottom line: Mama's Pho is elite. If you're even thinking about going, just GO. Trust me. I am currently in love with the Bún Bò Huế even more than I am with their amazing Phở Tái Bò Viên! The broth of the Bún Bò Huế is rich and satisfying, but admittedly I do ask for the blood cake and pork hock to be removed and replace with more of the Vietnamese ham & beef shank. Mama's Pho is gooood! I was so excited when I found this place around the Buford area since I have mostly had bad experiences in this area when it comes to Pho restaurants. The broth is so rich! We of course had to order the Pho which was really good. The service is great and all servers are very attentive. We always get seated right away and the restaurant is always spotless. Random though but also the soap in their bathroom smells SO good. Met a few friends here who raved about this place. Of course we ordered the pho, some fried rice, nuggets, and coffee. Pho is actually very good. The broth was rich and flavorful. Everything else was okay. Our server was super nice though we did have a hiccup and I didn't get my pho till halfway through service. Also no water refills because after getting our meal we weren't bothered. We were worried about seating before getting here but it's a pretty big space. Used to be a Stevie Bs so the kitchen is "open". A little out of our way so we probably won't be dropping by often but def a place we wouldn't mind driving out of our way for! read more

I was enlightened to this place by a social media post, who by the way, presented this place in a deceptive light. When I saw the post, the creator made it look like it was a DIY pho bar so imagine my surprise when I walked in and it's just another Vietnamese restaurant. No pho bar to be seen. All that aside... It's a decent pho joint. It's a comparably priced pho joint. The large is at $18.99 which is roughly $2-$3 more expensive than some of the other offerings around. The service was quick... like prompt!!! You're sat and then they took your order and stuff came in within 7 minutes of me sitting down at my seat. I know because I had to run to the restroom right after my order was taken and by the time I came back, my water, veggie condiments all were delivered to my table. My pho, the Large combo, or the quintessential Pho Dac Biet, came just two minutes later! So service is quick. Check out is just as quick so kudos on the speedy service! The place was also clean! Really clean which adds to the dine-in experience! And it looks to seat about 90 people between the open air tables the long booth seating section. Spacious, open, yet lit dim enough to have your own conversations without impeding on others. Now let's talk food!!! The flavor is relatively balanced. Not too much on the star anise or the cinnamon flavors and there is not much of a presence of fish sauce as well so there wasn't too much depth to it compared to other places. The broth seemed like it it was on the lighter side of pho broth that I'm used to so it. Still savory but lacking a depth that I like. Let's also talk about the very slim meat givings. For a large size bowl of pho, I would generally get a decent smattering of meat balls, tendon, tripe, brisket, and ribeye (which should arrive raw or turning medium as it sits in the broth). Didn't have much of that going on with this bowl of pho. My meat to noodle ratio was rather disappointing, for a large bowl of pho at least. I would've liked to have had more tripe, tendon, and more brisket than what I got out of it which I found to be a bit of a let down. And the fact that I had to ask for chili oil and they asked how much I'd like, and when I asked for two, they brought out these two tiny ramekins of little dollops of chili oil. All in all, I'm not necessarily too impressed with Mama's pho. It's decent and is another option than some of the other offerings in the Buford area. But I think they could do better in terms of setting themselves apart from other places by enriching the broth with a bit more depth and pulling the spices and aromatics out a bit more so it steeps in the broth. All in all... I really do wish this would've been a pho bar as I THOUGHT the social media post presented but alas, it was not. regardless... worth trying but in my opinion nothing to write home about. read more

So many of my friends have been raving about this place so I stop by during my lunch break. It's located in the Walmart Shopping Plaza right off of Buford Drive. Great area and lots of parking. Restaurant is pretty big and spacious inside. I ordered pho and springs rolls. I really loved the sauce for the spring rolls it really different and it was good. I usually ask for the fish sauce one when dining at other places but this sauce wins!! The pho broth was very flavorful and I didn't have to add anything. Service here was also great! When it comes to pho, I'm a die hard Dai Loi loyalist. Them having the best pho in Georgia is a hill I'm willing to die on. I found this place to meet up with a friend and as usual, I was skeptical. Virtually every place I have pho other than DL I'm either a bit disappointed or just regret it altogether. I'm going to have to give it up to this place. Their pho is really good and that makes me happy because they're way closer than DL is to me now. The service was fast as you'd expect from a pho restaurant and friendly. The place was clean, and more 'modern' than the usual spots. Not that it's important to me, but it may be to you. I haven't had anything else there, but the pho is enough for me to come back.
