Hii world! :) Decided to switch it up and try a new pho spot! My brother found this place in the same plaza as Sweet Hut, so we pulled up to check it out. It was pretty busy when we got there, which is usually a good sign. My brother went with the #1 Pho Combo, and I got the Banh Mi Combo. Of course, I had to try the pho broth, and honestly... ehhh, 6/10. It just wasn't as flavorful as I hoped. My brother liked his a little more and gave it a 7/10. Now, the Banh Mi Combo--I rated it 8/10. The bread was soft and fluffy, which I loved, but the meat was sliced super thin, so it felt like mostly veggies. The flavor definitely saved it, though! We also ordered some smoothies, and let me tell you... they took forever to come out. By the time I got mine, I was already stuffed. I got the Melon Wave Smoothie, and it was sweet--like 8/10 sweet. Overall experience? 6/10. Not bad, but not mind-blowing either. I'd still come back, though--they have Vietnamese desserts I definitely want to try next time!

Pho Bac is one of the best pho restaurants that I've tried. So whenever I am feeling for pho this is the place I come to. The place is small but the service is usually very good and the food is always delicious.

My friend and I decided to try out this place for the first time. The inside has very stylish and had cute decor. I also really liked how our food was served. My friend and I got the Tofu Banh Mi. Our sandwiches were served in this cute little woven boat-shaped basket. The sandwich tasted good, but there wasn't enough filling inside. I liked the pickled veggies, but the ratio of bread to filling wasn't even. There was alot of bread. Nothing wrong with the bread, I liked how crispy and flaky it was but I wish I had more veggies and filling to match the bread. I was surprised and kind of sad after I finished my sandwich because I've ordered veggie banh mi's from other places and I was always full and satisfied. Coming here was the first time I had the opposite experience and I was a left a little disappointed.

Everything we got at pho bac was delicious. The vermicelli to the pho was top notch. And I am saying this because I came from California and it's very comparable to stuff you can get in San Jose, CA or Westminster, CA. This was heaven because my family and I currently live in Greenville, SC. And the Vietnamese cuisine there is 75-80% comparable to California but here it's 99%.

Tldr: broth is meh, beef is eye round cut and not tenderloin. Charged extra for meatball when I ordered pho tai bo vien. Was out with a party so I didn't get a chance to take a pictures of my bowl. I think I got a total of 4 slices of eye round, and 4 quarter pieces of meatballs. Like did meat price go up that much? I normally get double or triple the amount of meat at other pho restaurants. The broth was not flavorful, missing richness from the bones. The vietnamese ice coffee was so sweet from the condense milk. I regret not waiting to get my espresso at starbucks or any local coffee shop. 2 stars for nice decoration.

Finally Pho Bac near me! This place opened a month ago so it's clean and beautiful inside! It's located in the plaza off Pleasant Hill Rd. Next to the Sweet Hut. Summer is here and I always opt for the Bún with chargrilled pork and egg roll. It was very good. My hubby had the pho but it wasn't hot enough. It had great flavor though. For dessert we tried the Che Thai. Assorted jellies and fruits in coconut milk and topped with chipped ice. It was yummy and something I would come and order on its own during a hot day. We'll be back.

Been coming for many years and this place never let me down, food is consistently good . I always get the pho and avocado smoothie.

Disappointed with the flavorless food and texture. I ordered online to pick up in 20 minutes, even tipped because it's the right thing to do. Order was ready. The veggie spring roll (summer roll) had no herbs making it flavorless. Urgh. The tofu banh mi flavor was off. Edible but not the best, didn't like the bread used, definitely not fresh. Fried spring roll in the vermicelli dish was prob the best. The sauce for the dish was mostly fish sauce. Again, no herbs. The crispy fried tofu had no flavor and a bit too dry. Last but not least, the Thai che was good but was hoping to see more cendol. The water chestnuts are good. I threw away 75% of my food. Money wasted. Overall, disappointing and will not return back. 92/2021

MODERN PHO RESTAURANT! this pho place is clean and well kept. it just opened a couple months ago, so i was excited to try the food. i got the tai, nam, gau, gan & sach pho (pho dac biet - special combo), pork egg rolls, shrimp and pork spring rolls, and the shaking beef with egg fried rice. the pho was pretty good and it comes with a lot! i got the medium but i could have easily gotten the small. the pork egg rolls were also good. the shrimp and pork spring rolls were okay - i feel like they could have been filled more. the shaking beef with egg fried rice was also good. i thought the steak was well seasoned but the fried rice was a little bland. i also got an avocado smoothie and it was interesting to try. it didn't have that much flavor and was really light and refreshing.

This is a modern, aesthetically pleasing pho restaurant located off Pleasant Hill Rd in the same plaza as Sweet Hut. They also have another location in Doraville which is the original. I grew up loving Pho Bac because my parents would take me there all the time. But ever since they changed chefs, it really has not been the same for me. So when I saw they opened up this location, I decided to give it a try. The food was alright but the service is lacking. I've been here three times already. I find it difficult to get the staff's attention and they don't really check up on you if you need anything. When I went with my mom, they forgot to bring out the herb dishes for our pho and egg noodle soup. I also ordered to-go and when I got home, I noticed I was missing an item. Overall, there are better pho places in the area like Pho Dai Loi #3.

Pho Dai Loi 3 is a hidden gem, you wont be disappointed…read more Super generous portions and amazing flavor as well. Definitely will be my go-to!

I want to be upfront with this review and call out my experience honestly…read more Personally, I'm sensitive to heavy MSG usage. When I eat at many Japanese or Korean soup restaurants that don't rely heavily on MSG, I rarely get headaches afterward. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. I ordered the bún bò Huế, a spicy and rich Vietnamese noodle soup originating from the central city of Huế. Traditionally, it features a bold, savory broth flavored with lemongrass, shrimp paste, and chili oil, served with thick rice vermicelli noodles, sliced beef, pork (often shank or knuckle), and fresh herbs with crunchy vegetables like banana blossom or cabbage. The portion was generous and visually accurate to the dish, but the broth felt extremely heavy and overpowering for me, and I left with a noticeable headache--something that doesn't usually happen to me at similar soup-focused restaurants. As a side note, the restaurant had a health inspection score of 81 (low B) the last time I checked, which is fairly in line with many older, high-volume ethnic restaurants, but still worth mentioning for transparency. The location is also something to be aware of. It's in a busy parking lot with a lot of reckless driving activity, so be careful when walking--this isn't the kind of place where you can casually stroll through the lot like you might at Whole Foods or Publix. You definitely need to watch left and right. The surrounding businesses include an American Deli and a pizza buffet, which gives you an idea of the overall environment. Overall, Pho Dai Lo serves authentic, bold-flavored Vietnamese dishes, and fans of strong, intense broths may enjoy it. However, if you're sensitive to very rich seasoning or additives, your experience may vary. Im Asian btw I know msg is used in a lot of viet and Chinese dishes and maybe the reasons why I enjoyed this dish. But I do have regret after coming out. It's not cheap either for two person with tip roughly $20 pp. u can get all you can eat buffet or even the Gohan seafood buffet if you think about it.

She's been there so long that I just call her my aunty at this point. Today, I did a little takeout haul--grabbed five banh mi sandwiches (Shrimp, Steak, Chicken, Special Combo & BBQ Pork). The wait time was super chill, maybe 15-20 minutes max. My usual go-to is the Special Combo, but since I was ordering for friends, I let them pick first. Ended up with the Shrimp Banh Mi today, which I hadn't had in forever. Solid 7/10. My dad knows I'm obsessed with the Special Combo, so he shared some with me, and yep--still a 10/10, no question. Aunty also has a deal where if you buy five items, you get one free, so I went for the spring rolls. They were pretty simple--just shrimp, carrots, and noodles--good but nothing crazy. 6/10. Now, back to the sandwiches! My friends gave the Chicken and BBQ Pork both an 8/10. The bread was soft, the meat and veggies were balanced just right, and overall, it was just chef's kiss. Honestly, I love banh mi so much. If you haven't been here yet, you're seriously missing out. Pull up!! Until next time :)

So far I have had the pho twice, the rice cubes, and the shaking beef. Everything tasted great. Big parking lot for free parking. It is amazing how similar my visits have been. Staff was not as attentive as I would have like. My table had everything I needed so my meal was not interrupted. Getting my bill took longer than expected. I think the servers do not want to interrupt your meal but I wish they would come by more often. This place looks a little rough on the outside but it is extremely clean and some what fancy on the inside. The combination Pho has all the different types of meat. I think their dishes although prepared authentically are underwhelming in terms of the depths in flavor and really the soul of Vietnamese food. I'm not an expert but I've eaten my fair share of Vietnamese food for a standard issue white girl. The pork patty was dry and likely made at the beginning of the week and just reheated as the week went on. It was pretty bland and had this rubbery overly bouncy consistency and literally snapped when I bit into it. It basically got lost amongst all the fresh herbs too. As you can tell from the photo the Bánh bột chiên was burnt and it ended up being burnt on both sides. The squares were cut too thick...and because they were cut too thick they were on the mushy side even after being overly pan fried. All of the veg was fresh and well cleaned, the rice noodles were not overly sticky and clumped together. The pickled carrot/daikon were tasty. The server I had was attentive and polite. The interior was as to be expected and I couldn't care less that it's a little rough around the edges. If the tile isn't cracked, if the booth's vinyl isn't taped up, the utensils aren't mismatched and the tables aren't wobbly then I don't trust the place!! Like I said-I don't dislike it here. I just don't see the hype. Then again I feel like I have to piece together my favorite dishes from several spots between Doraville/Chamblee and Duluth, so maybe it's because I haven't found one place that checks all the boxes and I can get all my favs from one place. I will come again...because I love Bánh hỏi.

It's huge inside and always busy, but somehow we've never had to wait which is amazing when hunger strikes fast! The prices are a breath of fresh air too. We usually order the shrimp spring rolls, but recently tried the grilled chicken spring rolls and WOW...a new favorite. If you only eat halal, they also offer seafood pho which is such a thoughtful and helpful option! It's close to home, consistently delicious, friendly service, and open late honestly everything we need in a neighborhood spot. We always leave full, happy, and already talking about our next visit.

Unfortunately, tonight was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. We arrived almost two hours before closing, and the restaurant was not busy. Despite that, our food came out very late, with half of it being served when we were already preparing to leave. It was also my husband's birthday, and since we run a business ourselves, it's hard for us to plan outings--so this was meant to be a simple, enjoyable dinner. I ordered a chocolate cake, which arrived completely frozen. I let it sit for 15-20 minutes, and it was still rock solid, so I had to send it back. On top of that, as we were leaving, we were still waiting on spring rolls and a chicken baguette. It also took a long time just to get the check so we could leave. The most upsetting part: As we were walking out, an older gentleman and our usual server stopped us and asked for a tip. My husband explained that we weren't leaving a tip because the service was poor and extremely slow--specifically mentioning that the younger server never came to our table until around 2:05 AM. Instead of handling this professionally, the server became angry, started kicking us out, and even called us "cheap." We have never been confronted like this before. Business owner to business owner, I would NEVER speak to a customer this way. If service isn't up to standard, getting upset at customers for not tipping is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. The food is still good, and I've always recommended this place to others--but treating loyal customers this way is ridiculous and avoidable. Did they lose a customer? Yes. Will I miss coming here? Yes. Could this have been handled better? Absolutely.
