Yum...I was in the area and have been craving froyo in the last few days. Saw this was nearby and had to stop by! Took a look at the menu and couldn't decide which flavor to get. Got white chocolate macadamia, classic vanilla, and mint chocolate. Everything is nonfat. Favorite was actually the classic vanilla. My cup was about to overflow, so as soon as I got inside my car I rushed to eat the top layer before starting my drive home. That alone got me feeling pretty full! Left it in the freezer when I got back and the size Small provided me enough dessert for the whole weekend lol. But I keep in mind I am the type of person to usually be satisfied with one scoop of ice cream. Due to the pandemic you order simply by the window, no inside access. When I went to Cal for school, this used to be THE frozen yogurt place. This was before other froyo establishments opened up and provided much more stuff competition. That was 10 years ago. I was surprised to see Yogurt Park was still open all these years and after all that competition. And I had to say they still were going pretty well. I decided to walk the memory lane and ordered the good ol classic flavor of vanilla and a seasonal flavor of pistachio. The frozen yogurt has good consistency, it was creamy and not too soft. The vanilla flavor was great, but to me the pistachio flavor was almost like artificial. It was still satisfying though. I grew up going to various frozen yogurt/soft serve places, so I have had my fair share of what this place specializes in. The yogurt itself is rich, creamy, and on the heavier side, however the quality/flavor is not the best yogurt I have tried. They do rotate several flavors every week or so, but overall the number of flavors offered per day are limited. As an Undergrad at Berkeley, I went here strictly for their infamous cookie tough topping! As you can see in the photo below, you can get a topping in a separate cup from the yogurt so you can mix as you wish. The edible cookie dough is delicious and soft, and is not the type you would find at yogurtland that is frost-bitten in small chunks. This place gives full scoops of light and fluffy cookie dough that I could eat alone. Overall, if you are new to Berkeley, become familiar with this place is it may be the only frozen yogurt place left (aside from Menchies on West/Northside). This review is not about the frozen yogurt, but rather a xenophobic employee. I don't write reviews often, but I just had an awful experience here. I went to get yogurt tonight (6/07/22) with my friend and her cousin, who is visiting from Ecuador. I have worked in the food service industry, and I understanding dealing with annoying people all day is so frustrating. HOWEVER, one of the employees tonight was not only extremely rude but xenophobic. My friend's cousin asked the employee a simple question about frozen yogurt, since he had never heard of it before and was confused, so he asked the employee a question about frozen yogurt and how it's different from ice cream. (Note: he speaks with an accent.) This employee ignored the question, and then after we explained that he was not joking, continued to ignore us and then said "Bye, I don't get paid enough for this." My friend explained her cousin is from Ecuador (not from the United States) and that he is trying to understand what frozen yogurt is -- the employee did not respond, and my friend's cousin felt extremely othered and upset by this comment. I could never imagine speaking to another person like this; most of my family speaks English with an accent, and they have likewise been treated poorly by employees, and I am so disgusted by the way he was treated. This is completely unacceptable and blatantly xenophobic. I love the frozen yogurt and recommend it to all of my friends visiting the area, but I no longer feel comfortable doing so. read more

This was the first dessert place I visited when I arrived on campus! It's super close, a block away, and a good quantity at an affordable price. I had the mini (6oz) with Ghirardelli chocolate and vanilla. The size was plenty big for less than $4! This is the best frozen yogurt I have ever had-actually I wouldn't really call it frozen yogurt because it had the consistency of a custard, but tasted like a mix of soft serve, yogurt, and custard. They offer three sizes, and a discounted price if you pay with cash. Some flavors rotate, while others are permanent, and there are a variety of toppings. The first time I came here was two weeks after starting Cal when the brow lady at M&M took off half of my left eyebrow and I immediately got Yogurt Park and cried about it. Since then, Yogurt Park (YoPo for short) has been there for me through thick and thin. The shop is small and has a few benches inside for eating, but for the most part, there's no seating. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes, even in a line of 10 people! Prices are incredibly reasonable given the HUGE portions here. Seriously, trust me on this. I love ice cream and frozen yogurt of all kinds and flavors, but even a mini is a lot for me. If you're looking to share, I'd recommend getting a small but anything more than that can be too much. They have rotating seasonal flavors and a few staples, such as Ghiradelli chocolate which is my go-to. I also like trying their seasonal sorbets, which are perfect on the occasional hot day. In addition, they also let you mix flavors for free. Definitely ask for sample their flavors before you end up deciding. I always get a mini Ghirardelli chocolate with brownie and cookie dough toppings, usually costing me $4. Any other ice cream/froyo place serving you the same quantity and quality of YoPo's offerings would charge you at least $5-$6! The frozen yogurt here is incredibly thick, creamy, and soft and is so, so good. Service here is always fantastic. The employees are super nice and patient. Once, I came here crying late at night right before they closed and they upgraded my mini to a small and gave me a bunch of extra tissues unsolicited. tldr: I LOVE YOGURT PARK read more

After walking around since 9am for Cal Day, it was time for something to cool my family and I off...dessert! I really didn't feel like waiting in line for CREAM and wanted to try something different; I'm soooo glad we did. The place is pretty small, and also warm inside...which isn't very appealing. It's located across the garage we parked in so that was convenient! My family is used to a self serve frozen yogurt place with many flavors so it looked like they were a little disappointed to find out this place was the exact opposite. They change the flavors daily and I ordered creamy peanut butter with vanilla and topped it off with cookie dough. I had a mini size and the woman not only put the cookie dough on top, but also stuffed my cup with it! I was surprisingly pleased with the portion and the taste. This frozen yogurt tasted more like ice cream - it's that creamy. This place is a little pricier than most froyo's: 80¢ a topping, about $4.00 for a small cup - but they do give a small discount for those paying with cash. They even have a sugar free option, though unfortunately no vegan options. You can get 1 flavor or 2 flavors mixed, and whatever toppings you want -- they have a lot to choose from. We wanted to check a spot that was unique to Berkeley itself and/or had only a few locations. THIS was our spot. There's the typical selection of toppings to put on their frozen yogurt. There's Oreo bits, gummy bears, different types of nuts, the usual stuff. I was more intrigued by their choices of frozen yogurt/ice cream/whatever mix. Strawberry Shortcake, they got this mint thing, but my eye caught the Ghiradelli Chocolate. I got the smallest size there is. Let me just say that their small is like a medium in a place like Basken Robbins. What a freaking portion size! And their frozen dessert is heavy on the stomach. Nearly halfway through I was thinking I wouldn't be able to finish everything. Hardly disappointed with the taste. The richness of the chocolate wasn't overwhelming. The sweetness wasn't excessive either. It was a feel good kind of feeling with each bite. Sometimes with chocolate types of desserts, you end up stopping because it's too much flavor wise. Complete opposite happened to me. If I hadn't eaten dinner beforehand, you bet you're bottom dollar I could have finished this dessert. It cost me about $4.00. EKK. Not a fan of the price. I think that's why stores like Baskin Robbin is so successfully purely for the cheapness of it all. But you may pay more here, but what you get is such quality. I am solely writing this review on the cookies and cream ice cream that I got. first the size was a little issue for me, for it being the "smallest" size they had, I had a very hard time finishing it before it started to melt. Then, the cookies and cream didn't even taste like cookies. It was just straight up chocolate. If I wanted pure chocolate i would have ordered chocolate. Still super decadent and delicious, not only is my tummy happy, but my mind as well as I'm flooded with happy Berkeley memories of being on campus. Especially when Yogurt Park ensures the toppings are distributed throughout the yogurt (and super generous with toppings too). But I will be sticking with Oreo crumbs from now on because this last time I got brownies, the brownies tasted super stale (like store bought brownies had been sitting out for a few days), and not fudgy or enjoyable like before. Everything here is cheap! Love that for me. Heads up that it's even cheaper if you pay in cash! Limited bench seating as this store is quite small and cozy, so it often becomes a grab-and-go place. The yogurt tastes awesome, and is also really rich - to the point that it can be a bit too much if you order a Large. I'd recommend getting a Mini typically if you're sort of in the mood for ice cream/froyo, and a Small if you're REALLY in the mood for it. A large is just overkill - there have been many times when I would come with a friend who would take the bluff and order a large, only to give up halfway through because there's only so much sweetness he/she can take. I will drive to Yogurt Park at all hours of the day, with the strongest cravings moments before midnight. Thank god they are open so late! I have their flavor number on speed dial (!) but ironically my favorite flavor is (tart) natural! I know all the spin off yogurt places that have come about recently pretty much always have natural but Yogurt Park is really the best value. If there is no natural, I always seem to get the chocolate of the day and the fruit flavor. Chocolate chips and yogurt drops. There is one girl there who always makes me smile. Always cheery, personable, and I think her favorite flavor is Irish Mint/Chocolate which is an excellent choice, further proving her awesomeness. Truth is, not all of the people working there are so cheery...which you kind of expect from an ice cream store because its busy and redundant. And so many customers who can't make up their minds! I revisited Yogurt Park for the first time in about 6-7 years. It's a trip how the store still looks the same, but I love it because it revitalized some memories here (ie. late night yogurt runs, final exams yogurt runs). The usual flavors still remain such as the Ghirardelli Chocolate and Vanilla Cream, but what makes this place unique is their other flavors such as Mango and Caramel Fudge Eclair. As mentioned in my earlier review, part of the yogurt menu changes daily so call in before heading here. The sizes are also great for their value. I like to get the Large because it just makes so much sense for its price. Oh, that's another thing. They now have card vs. cash prices displayed on their menu. It's pretty cool! If you get toppings, then they are still generous with it. The toppings itself are also huge. For example, you'll get 1/2 of Reese's Peanut Butter cup rather than "pieces" of it which is freakin' awesome. Happy to see this shop is still here and doing well. read more

This place is located pretty much in the heart of South Berkeley, right next to Kips, The way it works is you choose a size, choose a flavor (you can choose more than one) and then choose the toppings you like. One great thing they do is put toppings in the middle of the cup, as well on top! So you get a bit of topping throughout your enjoyment. The flavors change but one of the best I've had to this date was just the plain vanilla or the cookie/mint, As with any five year old my favorite topping is cookie dough...though I should branch out and try different ones. The price is different if you are paying with cash or card (only by a little). A small should be around $4 if I am not mistaken. You can pick and choose to taste any flavors that you want before making your purchase. The menu is different everyday, so check their Facebook page to get an update on what flavors they have! Also, their sizing is named a little differently. So if you ask for a size small, it's not the smallest one. The smallest size, called the "mini" will fill you up just enough. I accidentally got the next size up by saying I wanted a size "small", but it was way too much for me and I couldn't finish. For any size, you can pick however many flavors you want. Best frozen yogurt in Berkeley by far! Thick, creamy, sweet AND fat free! wow! I love to come in and sample the rotating flavors. They seem to change pretty frequently. My favorites so far have been the blueberry tart, peanut butter and the coconut! The only downside to that is discovering a flavor you absolutely love and then it goes away in the rotation :/ All the more reason to come back for more though! The best part of coming to YoPo is the friendly staff! I'm always greeted with a smile and friendly, helpful service (even when I take forever to select a flavor, ha).
