    Mini brownie tiramisu sundae
    Amy L.

Street parking is difficult but a parking garage is next door. It is a tiny little ice cream shop on the corner with no tables, grab and go. A theatre is next door and across the street. I went on a busy night, I could see several people waiting and a long line to get into the parking garage. She asked if I wanted to sample when I arrived and of course I love tiramisu custard so I tried and decided to make it a brownie tiramisu sundae. This hit the spot after dinner. I would like to try the malt next time when I'm in the area.

Who doesn't like frozen custard? If you know someone who doesn't, we probably can't be friends. I really like the different options from affogato to floats here. It's the kind of shop I want to frequent often. I'm a huge fan of coffee so their coffee coffee really appealled to me, and it was exactly the 5 stars you would expect. Great coffee flavor with bits of coffee. Friendly staff, free water, a table outside. We need this in every city!

The least creamy and rich custard I have ever had. With that out of the way you may be wondering why it's still 4 stars. I'm not a huge ice cream fan. But the flavors are so good. I'm crazy for anything plum and the plum crumble is fantastic. Packaging of the pints to go is also excellent. They put them in a freezer bag with a little ice pack on them. If you want a rich creamy texture you are likely going to be disappointed. If you want something more like a gelato this is it.

was next door for a show and wanted a sweet treat. really loved this mini sundae. It was the perfect amount of soft serve and wasn't too overwhelming. They have all their flavors and menu posted inside, so we were able to take our time to decide what we wanted to order.

Sometimes you need some sweet indulgence before a theater matinee. Jamie W and I were a bit early for a performance at Berkeley Rep. Now I suppose we could've used the time to exercise like dropping down and doing fifty push-ups. But that seemed unlikely since I can barely do one. Or we could come here and see what frozen custard will contribute to our lives. Gee, tough decision. They serve the frozen custard in various delectable forms. Either by scoop in various flavors, or in sundaes with complimentary ingredients, or under the catch-all category of specialties like affogato, pie slices, and root beer floats. We decided to share the $9 Regular Peanut Butter Oreo Sundae with a base of creamy chocolate frozen custard topped with a thick, ropey peanut butter sauce, whipped cream, Oreo crumbles, and a pair of black cherries (Photo 9). Quite the yum and not overly sweet. Good decision. FOOD - 5 stars...tasty frozen custard that doesn't overwhelm your sweet tooth AMBIANCE - 4 stars...compact spot with seating outside SERVICE - 4.5 stars...very friendly and helpful TOTAL - 5 stars...a shareable treat quite unlike froyo shops RELATED - Exploring Berkeley? Needed a sweet treat and came across this super cute and yummy place! Small and sweet!!! The Banana Lexie was AMAZING! Can't wait to come back and try the pie slice

We popped in here while waiting for an event over at the Berkeley Rep. The staff were so patient and helpful (I changed my order midway after seeing the special of the day). And they helped me accommodate my low dairy needs. The apple crumble with apple cider sorbet sundae I had was so incredibly good!

Located at 2010 Addison St, to the right of Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse, a small custard shop lives - Lexie's. It specializes in a small menu of classic flavors - chocolate and vanilla along with the flavor of the day - thin mint (on our visit) and a seasonal vegan sorbet - guava. There are seasonal sundae options available, which I partook in. All options are fresh, organic and house made. The flavors can be enjoyed simply in a cup or cone as a scoop or as a specialty item ranging from a concentrate, to sundae option, affogato or shake to a kids classic - dirt & worm sundae, which my daughter enjoyed. Don't forget to ask your little one if they would like a cup or cone. Cones cost and many parents were circling back to pay the difference since their kid saw a kid with a cone - this means another wait in line to do so. For the Kids Dirt & Worm Sundae, my little one picked Thin Mint as her custard flavor, which was layered with crushed/ground cookies and organic gummy worms. For $4.50 it's a yummy indulgence to create memories with. For the Concrete ($9), I opted for the Brownie Sundae which is chocolate custard, house made brownie chunks and chocolate fudge sauce all blended together and topped with whip cream (optional). The flavor was well balanced and the brownie bits were so plentiful I left a few behind to discard. I really enjoyed! The flavors were not too sweet, delectable and tasted of fresh, quality ingredients. Inside, near the register, are options of toffee popcorn, cookies, fruit chews and caramel. There is a mini freezer housing pre packed pints and cookie ice cream sandwiches. The interior was well maintained and clean, it is also very quaint and intimate. It is hard to distinguish between who is waiting on an order and who hasn't ordered - be kind and ask. Service can be slow due to one cashier and one preparer/server, based on the size of the shop it is understandable and the wait was well worth it - not horribly long with 3 families ahead of us. Following a Freight & Salvage performance (directly next door), Lexie's can get packed quickly. The staff was very friendly with smiles and patience, thank yous and assistance with add on options to assist with orders. Apple Pay, cash and cards are accepted. The shop is accessible by BART from the Downtown Berkeley stop, by car with street and garage parking options or by foot if you are close by. Lexie's opens at 1PM Tue-Sat, closed Mondays, and closes between 9-11PM depending on the day. *For those with little ones or little bladders* ...there are public restrooms - traditional gender specific - to the left of the shop, open to the public (no key or code needed). The women's restroom was well maintained and clean but lacked toilet seat covers and some stalls have no toilet paper.

Cute mini sundaes are perfect after a show at the Berkeley Rep (and/or Freight & Salvage)! One can get simple, one-flavor cup of frozen custard or make other creations like sundaes. My friend and I got the Speculoos & Peanut butter and Oreo sundae (mini size) each. I thought it was the perfect serving! P.S. they serve real cherries so don't refuse your cherry on top if you thought it was Maraschino like me.

If you're a fan of chocolate desserts, you must go to Lexie's Frozen Custard! My friend and I had to fulfill our chocolate cravings and ordered the regular brownie sundae. The brownies had a rich chocolate flavor, and it paired well with the creamy frozen custard. Portion was also generous-- regular size is definitely enough for two people to share. Overall a great shop to stop by for a solid sundae!

Great frozen custard and the sundae menu is fantastic . I loved the very berry - super fresh with fruit sauce and fresh strawberries. Customer service was friendly and sweet - street parking was easy on a Saturday. Great experience overall!

2010 Addison St Berkeley, CA 94701 This was my first time at Lexie's Frozen Custard shop in downtown Berkeley. It was around 9pm on a Tuesday, and I was flipping thru the Yelp app looking for a frozen dessert place that was still open. Wow, Lexie's is open until 10pm! This is a small shop with a neat storefront. It's right next to the Center St parking garage. I was immediately greeted as I walked in. I told them it was my first time there, and they offered me samples if I wanted to try a flavor. They offer scoops, sundaes, shakes, pies, cookies, and pre-packaged goods. Oh well, I played it safe and ordered two scoops of chocolate & vanilla for $7. I should of tried the strawberry and fruity sorbet. They told me all the custards are made onsite in fresh batches. How was it? It's like a creamy soft serve, but not as sweet. It has a somewhat unique silky texture. It's not icy cold like frozen yogurt. If you want a quality frozen dessert, with great customer service, try Lexie's Frozen Custard. BTW, this shop has only been here for about a year. So all the 1-3 star reviews from years ago, don't apply to this place. This is pretty much a grab and go place. There's a few tables outside. Support Local Business!

My good friend not only picked us up, but she and her husband got dinner too, so of course I had to get dessert! We were short on time, so I used DoorDash to place a pickup order and it was literally ready in like less than two minutes. I can't speak on the ambiance of the place as my partner was the one who ran out to go get our order. Mango Sorbet - one taste of this and I swear it was reminiscent of biting into an Alphonso mango (which I know is no longer in season). This is a total winner and for this flavor alone, I would absolutely come back. Pistachio Gelato - this was pretty creamy and the crushed pistachio pieces actually tasted like it had been fresh and roasted. I'm glad it retained it's flavor and texture despite being swirled into a gelato. My partner commented that it was good seeing a pistachio frozen dessert in its natural color and not with the artificial green food coloring. This turned out to be a perfect purchase because my friend who lives in Berkeley surprisingly had not tried this place yet! I knocked off a star because the pints did not have the flavors labeled which I thought was rather strange. We were all impressed by both gelato flavors, but the mango sorbet was very clearly the fan favorite. It's nice to know this shop is opened daily (Monday to Thursday from 11:00 AM - 10:00 PM and Friday to Sunday from 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM) especially with school back in session.

Gadani was highly rated, nuff said. It's got a nice interior, but most shops these days do. First thoughts are they are running a Fanloli in there, lots of cutesy stuff for sale, not common for coffeeshops, but I was excited for a banana mocha latte or honestly whatever that has banana in it, I'm all for that but it was sold out, big bummer. Second thoughts are I hate the kiosk ordering, I had to dig around for that disappointing news, tbh I feel like this kiosk nonsense just means whoever is back there gets more time doom scrolling but call me out for not loving the end of human interactions. Third thought was this is taking awhile, took about 10 minutes to get a milk tea which is a little crazy when no one else is there. Case in point for second thought because anywhere else it would half the time, are they making bead necklaces into the back? Fourth thought was when my wife said her milk tea tasted like water, which I tried and said yep it does, then she asked me if mine was bad, because I had the same order only hot, which I said, "yes it does taste like water, how did you know," to which we both say collectively, "fucking Berkeley." Normally id leave it there, but then I realized that the cup was spilling on me constantly and it actually wasn't me, the top wouldnt close so I was spilling the milk tea flavored water all over my sweater because their cups don't close properly. Listen, it wasn't a nice sweater but comon, insult to injury in a time of failure, people come to places like this to get a night cap, especially in a world where nobody young drinks. How the hell is this top of the mark, is it the ice cream? If it's the ice cream, I'm glad, because otherwise I think y'all are crazy. All that and parking was $20 bucks. The line moved really slow because there was only one employee handling everything. She was taking orders, giving samples, answering questions, and ringing people up all at once. She was super friendly and doing her best, but it felt like a lot for one person during a rush and the shop could definitely use more help. The space is really small and tight so it was hard to even see the flavors until we got close to the front. When we finally got up there, a lot of the tubs were already empty which was confusing since most ice cream shops restock. Some flavors I wanted weren't available anymore, and if they're out it would make more sense to just remove them from display. The dirty containers didn't make sense to display. I sampled the jasmine green tea and knew right away I wanted it. It was creamy with a smooth tea flavor that wasn't overpowering. I got a small with half jasmine green tea and half avocado. The avocado was surprisingly really good, super creamy and tasted like a fresh avocado smoothie. Both flavors weren't overly sweet which I liked. My husband wanted cookies and cream but it was sold out so he got chocolate chip instead, which was solid and creamy with good texture. Overall the ice cream itself was good, not the best I've had but definitely not bad. I like that the flavors lean more natural and not overly sweet. I could see myself coming back if I'm in the area, but the experience would be a lot better with faster service and more consistency with what's actually available.
