Best Chinese American takeout I have had in Virginia! Don't look any further, this is the place to order from. Food was delivered very quickly and the people were very nice. read more

Szechuan Beef + Extra Spicy = A.M.A.Z.I.NG! This place rocks, but if you want to know what awesome tastes like, order this dish! Flavor, spice, and pure yum. I may have found my new addiction. read more

First time trying Yens and I will order again! I'm pretty basic in my selections ( crab Rangoon, sweet and sour chicken) but the quality of the chicken was better than your average take out joint. Everyone else enjoyed their dish as well. My only dislike was the egg roll. It literally tasted like cleaning solution and I wasn't the only one who thought so. Overall solid choice. read more

Love the hot fish boil!!! There is limited seating and it can get crowded, but that just means you can feel the heat from the bananas flambé. I have had a hard time ordering something other than the hot fish, but I have stolen a few bites from other plates and I thought everything was delicious. Don't expect some sort of overly creative recipes here - this is real food that is real good. read more

I can't say enough about this wonderful restaurant located inconspicuously in an Ashburn strip mall. Their food is top notch and something I think would be found in Asian culinary hot spots like Falls Church. I've had several dishes here including the dreaded bitter gourd which somehow managed to be pretty good. Everything else has been outstanding. The quality of the food is fresh and the serving size ample. To top this all off, they offer a wide selection of loose teas and homemade desserts. The desserts are the quality of fine bakeries. I was very surprised to eat the best peanut brittle I've ever had at this small place. read more

3.5 star for me: I would say its food is authentic (Taiwanese food which is different from Cantonese and Szechuan food that most Americans are used to) and above average (no wow factor), their service was personal and warm, but I can not say I am a fan (4 star) yet. I will give it another try sometimes and adjust my review accordingly. read more

Yen's is the best Asian food restaurant in the area. Great staff, amazing food. My favorites are the Moo Shu, Hot and sour soup, salad, general Tso. read more

It's hard to find a quality Chinese restaurant in the sea of as cheap and fast as possible Chinese places these days. This is one of the good ones, even one of the best. Just by eating the white rice you can tell the quality is amazing. read more

Yen's Cafe is, no joke, the best Chinese place in the area. We've tried most others and keep coming back. Their food is super fresh, flavorful, and not excessively salty. We mostly order delivery and they are FAST! We never stray for long without coming back and wondering why we ever left. read more

I cant believe I've been in Ashburn for 5 years before trying this place. It's tiny in the inside, but they deliver. The food is amazing, the kung pao chicken is so much better than anything else you've tried. The lunch portions are such a great value! read more

Was at Dulles town center and searching for food and found this place. The place is so tiny but the food was great and very good customer service. We have few of the items and all of them good. Definitely will go back. May be carry out this time as hard to find the table to sit and eat. read more

The real deal. Chat up the owner who will tell you that she makes weekly trips to Chinatown (NYC) for authentic ingredients. No wrong choices on the menu. Consistently good. read more

Yen's Cafe is a little hole in the wall place that has such good food! I definitely recommend checking it out! We ordered over the phone and picked up our food in about 15 minutes. I'm glad we took it home since it seems a little cramped in the restaurant. We were so hungry and couldn't wait to dig in. It was well worth the short wait! Definitely check out this place if you want quick, inexpensive, delicious Chinese food! read more

Encouraged by the high rating on yelp I went to yens with my wife last night for dinner for the first time. Lacking customer service. When we went in three tables were available but we were made to wait for 15 minutes for no reason. It is a very small place. Owner looked us in the eyes but did not greet or say anything. She picked up a phone call and took an order. When I asked can we just seat ourselves she said in just few minutes. Then she took care of a take out customer then invited us to a table but did not give us menus. I had to go back to counter and pick up menus. They advertise as having a variety of teas and juices but there was no list for such and we were told they don't have teas. Although there was a sign on wall saying there will be $180 fine for breaking the tea set. We asked for water and she asked if we wanted ice we said yes. She brought us two glasses with room temperature and no ice. We ordered beef broccoli and crispy beef. Food came out in less than 10 minutes but cold and stale. When we asked the old lady serving our table to warm it up she did not understand and sent owner. Owner started to argue that if they warm it up beef will be over cooked. Food generally below average. Attitude very unwelcoming. 0 in my book. First and last visit to yen's. read more

I have been to San Francisco China Town, Los Angeles China Town and D.C. China Town....... Yens is absolutely the best of the best!!!!!!!!! The food is unbelievably fantastic!!!! read more

After reviewing the comments, I tried this restaurant with my family. The food taste is awesome. One of the best Chinese food in the vicinity. They gave a doughnut kind of sweet at the end as a dessert and that was good. Anything fried in oil is good. It is a very small restaurant. Will try again. read more

Hubby and I went to Yen's Cafe today and ordered a Lemonade that also had Orange Juice in it (the best lemonade we've ever had!!), the dumplings, Kung Pao Chicken, Taiwan Fried Chicken, and the String Beans. Everything was *WONDERFUL*, so we just kept on eating until we were very full and brought the rest of the goodness home with us for tomorrow's lunch! We were sooo thrilled to find a place that didn't do the food the same way as most of the other restaurants around Sterling. (I'm so very tired of celery in my Kung Pao--and Yen's had none! Yay!!) The servers were a delight, and the whole experience was exceptional. (Thank you, prior Yelp reviewers for helping us choose this restaurant!) For the ones who haven't been there yet...try Yen's Cafe, I'm sure you'll love it as much as we do! read more

Great food, good value, presentation excellent, service outstanding.

Been here many times and the food is always fantastic! Their Wonton soup is the best I've ever had and their steamed pork dumplings are fresh and delicious. Highly recommended! read more

Found this gem from YELP reviews and so glad we tried it. We have only ordered delivery, which is super easy as you can create your order on the web and then they call to confirm. Delivery time is super quick too. As far as the food goes. AH-MAZ-ING! A dish as pedestrian as General Tso's Chicken is incredibly well made. It's fried perfectly. all white meat chicken the the sauce is aromatic and flavorful. The egg drop soup seems to be made to order as the egg never tastes rubbery or overcooked. The Spring rolls are light and crispy. The pancakes for the Mu-Shu pork looks like they are home made! I have never had a bad meal from them and we order a different dish every time. Love this place! read more

Nice to find authentic Taiwanese food in Ashburn, let alone Virginia! I loved the Taiwanese fried chicken might be even better than Popeyes. I prefer this place to the Americanized Chinese restaurants in Ashburn. read more

Maybe it was an off night. We ordered delivery for a group of 6. Nobody liked their food. There was no sauce for the sweet and sour chicken, so it was just fried chicken bits. The general tsao's and the orange chicken were dry with almost no sauce and no spice. No condiments were provided (soy sauce, duck sauce, mustard). All of the dishes were just chicken bits with no vegetables or sauce. This was not cheap food. We were very disappointed. read more

As some others mentioned in their reviews, it took 50 min for my order to arrive (we had it delivered and live just 5 mi away, so the wait was a bit longer than I would have liked). The food was pretty good but not nearly as tasty as the reviews had led me to believe so, yes, I was disappointed. Portions were decent but not bountiful and overall the food was a little plain. That said the steamed pork and shrimp dumplings were a standout. read more

Friendly staff and greeting at the door. Restaurant is quaint and inviting. I ordered takeout which turned around quickly (ten minutes). The house special of pan fired noodles was delicious. I've never this cuisine in this style and it was terrific! Highly recommended! read more

This is by far the best Chinese food I have ever had. I appreciated them sending my Crispy Beef crispy by turning the bag into alittle fort for my plate and cutting a whole on top so that my food wouldn't become soggy (the plate with top was also in the bag). We will certainly be ordering for them again. read more

Our go-to absolutely most favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. The food is delicious and very clean tasting. Our kids nearly revolt if we don't order from there on a relatively regular basis. read more

Best Chinese/Taiwanese restaurant for miles, if not the best in all of the dc metro area. Their xianggan rousi (shredded pork with dried bean curd) is the best I've had this side of the pacific. The owners are nice as can be and the food is to die for! read more

Best Chinese / Taiwanese food, highly recommend, small restaurant, great service. Better for dine-in, yet still delicious for carry out. I don't go anywhere else for Chinese food. We always take our out of town guests here and they are also impressed with the flavors. read more

This place is SO good. Definitely the best Chinese food in the Ashburn area. Whenever we go there, we are always greeted right away by the friendly staff. Their menu is great too, it has almost everything. All of the food at Yen's always tastes great ... I've been there several times and never have anything bad to say about this place. read more

Best Chinese food in Loudoun County. We used to be Cheng's fans (in Sterling), but Yen's just blows them away. We have LOVED everything on the menu and the staff is very friendly. read more

I think we have found our new go-to Chinese place! We ordered General Tso chicken, pork lo mein, and pan fried potstickers. Everything tasted great. I judge Chinese restaurants on the quality of their potstickers/dumplings since I am part Asian...the wrappers were just right!! I wasn't a big fan of the filling but it wasn't bad. The wrappers definitely make up for it - it's hard to find a place that does the wrappers just like my mom, so I was thrilled! The lo mein was a little oily but otherwise delicious, and huge portion!! Loved it. The chicken pieces were large and tasty. The sauce was just right. Delivery was fast. Happy to have this restaurant down the street! read more

EXCELLENT FOOD!!! We got Sesame Chicken and Beef Lo mein. The Lo mein was the best I have had in years! They said they don't dunk the Lo mein in water first like most restaurants they just put it right in the pan and man did it have flavor!! The Sesame chicken had beautifully toasted sesame seeds and the sauce was great, it wasn't that same sauce you get from other Chinese restaurants it had body and great flavor! The rice was topped with black sesame seeds which was a nice surprise when we opened the take-out containers. It is a small place probably 6-7 booths, but elegantly decorated and looks like a great place to even take someone for a romantic dinner. They did also have a small bar. They have an extensive Tea and drink menu so we will be going back again very soon! read more

After reading all of these reviews, I gave Yen's Cafe a try. My husband is a huge Chinese food fan and we haven't ventured to find a good place since moving to Ashburn a while ago - sometimes trying a bad place once just taints all your future experiences. So I took the plunge and I was so happy I did!! I ordered delivery and used their online system - it was simple and took no time at all! It was at my door in 30 seconds and the man who delivered it was super nice and gave us a cute bag of peppermints and lollipops which I thought was really cute! Everything was hot and super tasty; I will be ordering from there and can't wait to visit the restaurant! read more

Amazing Chinese food with fresh juice. Real good service to make the whole experience very delightful!

After reading wonderful reviews I decided to give this place a try since it is close to my work. Tried the lo mein and orange chicken. lo mein was too salty and oily and the orange chicken had too much breading. Not sure what the deal is...may be I came by on a bad day for them. read more

ordered General Tso chicken for dinner. The chicken had decent flavor except for the thick breading. They give you a lot but if you peal back the breading the actual meat is not much and does not taste as fresh. read more
