The worst ever, called to make reservations, woman told me don't need to and just come. I was 10 mins away. I got there I waited 2 hours and then some more!! I went in hungry and left hungry! Raw Meat looked good but once you cook it, it was super chewy. We ordered beer and they gave us room temperature beer! So we asked for cold ones they said they don't have any. So we asked for some ice nope no ice either, WTF?! How do you serve room temperature beer? They probably ran out but no ice on top of that nah never again! Been here 3 times and all 3 times were outstanding! My friend and I would come all the way here from Manhattan. Yes, we like it that much. The BBQ here is phenomenal because they use charcoal and grill net instead of gas stove and regular KBBQ grill. We usually go with their special marinated beef, duck, and lamb skewers along with a dish thats not from the BBQ section of their menu The workers here are very nice and attentive when it comes to service. The first 2 times we were here we cooked the meat ourselves. I'm guessing because we were here during the prime time. The 3rd time when we were there earlier (around 7:30pm on a Friday night), the worker would cook the meat/ operate the grill for us. Though its nice to have someone to do the cooking, I did feel a little bit rushed since I didn't get to eat at the pace I wanted to due to the nonstop fast cooking pace that was done by the worker (maybe they were expecting a lot of ppl will arrive later?). Overall, this is a good place to try out if you've never experienced KBBQ that uses charcoal and grill net. The portions are small, and the price is not worth it. If I ordered a takeaway at home, it would probably not exceed $14.99, and I was charged $20 for a dish. The flavor of the skewers didn't penetrate through the meat. I was quite disappointed since I saw several reviews saying this is probably the best NE restaurant in NYC. I came here to try to bbq. I thought it will be great but unfortunately not. The store is busy and no server coming to me and serve me. the meat was placed in the bbq area, and it was almost burn and no one is coming to help. Therefore, we had to do it by ourselves. Very disappointed experience. When we about to leave the store, I asked to refill the ice water, they just gave me the tap water from the sink without ice which is rude and bad service! It was quite good. I have been exploring Korean BBQ lately, and although this was Northern.Chinese BBQ. This had a nice effect on me. Not only they marinate a.lottle bit differently, the use aldo wood chips to BBQ vs a gas heat source. The result is more realistic BBQ than other places who use had. Even at home, I prefer to use charcoal than propane because of the better flavorful food. Started with beef, then had the lamb skewers, which were really good. The beef tongue were good. Finally finished with slabs of bacon. I like my bacon crispy so they added more wood chips to turn.up the heat. They use a large scoop to add the wood chips. Now.the.big kicker.os the price. First time here with some friends. Got their beef that's first on the menu, squid, chicken gizzard, and a couple of cold vegetable dishes. Loved everything! There's an amazing distinct flavor to all the meats I ordered - I think it's because the grill is charcoal based. I seriously recommend the mixed cucumber cold dish to cut from all the meat I ordered - I really helps alleviating the "food coma" feeling. Definitely coming again. read more

My fiance is from NE China and she honed in on this place because the Chinese name is actually more like "Xita", which is neighborhood of Shenyang, China. That is where her dad is from and a lot of her family still lives, and she grew up in a city not too far away. Apparently there's a Koreatown there and being so close to Korea, there's a Korean minority that lives in cities like Shenyang. I've only been to Shenyang once, and I'm not an expert by any means - though I'd say my fiance is much more of an expert than me. This is one of the few places in the US I've seen that uses wood chips for charcoal instead of gas, which leads the flavor to be better. We got some beef, lamb skewers, and squid for the grill. All were great and came with the spice mix you see at Chinese BBQ places as well as the sesame paste with salt, chili oil, etc for the Korean BBQ. My fiance said this was the most authentic she's seen in the US and exactly how she remembered it growing up. We also got some sour cabbage with noodles, which is more NE Chinese as I understand it. I've had sour cabbage soup many times and this is not a soup, but still good. Cabbage not as sour as I like, but still something I'd order again. They also gave us the mantou with the sweet dipping sauce which was great. We also ordered another dish to take home. All in all - it was pretty good and my fiance is leaning towards this being the most authentic NE Chinese food in NYC she's had so far. It's not right next to the Main Street 7 train stop (it's next to the Murray Hill LIRR though), but it's about 3/4 of a mile from it. You could walk it on a nice day or take a quick uber. Yes, the parking is probably hard to find, but give me a break. This is NYC, not the middle of North Dakota. Even out here the parking situation isn't optimal. Don't give crap to a business because they happened to open next to a train stop in the middle of a very walkable area. Anyway, we'll definitely be back. read more

This is the 4th time I been here and it's going to be the last time. I won't come again. They don't have any service. When we sit here I have to wait so long for a water and everything. Waiters are sitting around and go out for phone call this and that. We have to cook it by ourself and they won't care if you need help at all. There is no tools for the BBQ. Pleasantly surprised when I came here. My friend really likes eating NE Chinese food so whenever I go out with him, we're always eating skewers and stuff like that. I tried two types of beef, they are very tender and juicy. They will help grill and serve the food. They really know each type of meat and how should it be done. For example, the short ribs they'd ask you how well you'd like it. But for other one, they know it has to serve around medium for the best taste! The BBQ here was very good and I would definitely come back here to eat their BBQ but their other food dishes weren't so great. On top of the beef, assorted mushroom and lamb skewers that we ordered, we also ordered stir fried noodles with vegetables, cold noodles, stuffed park intestine, fried buns and a few others I don't know the name of. I enjoyed eating the BBQ we ordered and the fried buns with condensed milk was so delicious and sweet; but when it came to eating their food dishes, I wasn't very happy with the taste. The stir fried noodles was way too salty to eat and we regretted ordering it (we couldn't finish it because it was too salty). The cold noodles was also a little salty and didn't taste very good. The stuffed pork intestine we ordered wasn't all that great either; it was flavorful but according to my grandmother who loves to eat it, they didn't do a very good job making it. :( Maybe it was because the dishes we ordered weren't their best dishes but none of it tasted good. Which is why I recommend coming here to eat their BBQ but not their food dishes.
