Our cable package was wrong, they told us they could no longer give us the deal we had signed up for even though we had email confirmation, than the internet stopped working. They at the time had a 30 day guarantee so we returned our equipment within a week and have been getting bills NON STOP! We call and call sometimes they hang up on us, they always have some new excuse or random piece of information. It has been one of the most frustrating things to deal with, please tell everyone you care about to NEVER use Comcast service, it is beyond terrible and everyone I have spoken to has been incredibly not helpful. When I reviewed them the first time they were called Comcast, they are the only company I know with such a bad reputation that they had to change their name. They actually called me yesterday to try to sell me more business services. It gave me and everybody at my work a big chuckle. I explained that they left me without service at my business for 6 weeks. She gasped, then I asked the lady to look up my account history after she called. Since I had logged a minimum of one call per day for 6 weeks to try to get my problem resolved. She told me that she was embarrassed and would not try to sell me any more services. Basically, they have a ridiculous monopoly and they know it, so they don't care about customer satisfaction whatsoever. However Darnell is the only competent Comcast employee I've ever talked to and he actually helped me out a lot. Comcast reminds me of 1950's Soviet Union customer service. If I didn't have to spend so much time on the phone getting nowhere, it would be comical. After ordering service, I got a phone mail message giving me my service number. However, there was a problem because they did not get my address correct. And their message was garbled when they hastily gave me my customer number. They did say I had to call another number to get things straight. I played the phone mail three times trying to get the customer number straight. I then called the number I was referred to and they asked for my customer number. I told Amber, the Comcast rep that the number was garbled when I was given it, but repeated it as best I could. Amber copped an attitude and said she couldn't help if I didn't have the precise number. Needless to say, hilarity ensued. Amber said they didn't go by name or address because there are too many similar names given the huge size of their business. I said my name is only shared by two other people in the United States, and I know both of them, and neither was ordering Comcast service that week. After Amber said my install would have to be cancelled, she asked if I wanted to be transferred to the new orders department. I said no. Comcast has the absolute worst customer service I have ever seen!! I have tried to deal with them a number of times and there has not been one instance where customer service came through. Do yourself a favor and look for services with another internet/cable provider or you will be on the phone for hours or waiting for them to come to fix something, and they don't show up. Now they have sent me to collections because I failed to give them back a router. Although, I have made 8 phone calls to their equipment return center get the the mailing package sent to me to return it because you are no longer able to take it to a Comcast service center. My calls were disconnected or no one would answer. Then finally today they answered and said please hold and then we were disconnected again. Sadly, with Comcast attempting to buy most of the networks out there they have forgotten to insist on good customer service. There new Xfinity store in Rhode Island Row may be "pretty" but many of the workers have negative attitude. U can walk in there any time of the day and they are so busy having conversation with each the act as though the want to assist you. Once they do they do not check over the paper work correctly and u have to correct them. Lastly, when u call and the recording ask if u want to give feedback and u select "no: 1" you will never get a call back, I wonder why. The bigger this company gets the price of my bill gets higher and higher and no one in Congress or the FCC is paying attention. I am overall very disappointed with my Comcast service. While I lived in Charleston, I had to replace my modem twice within a year and was constantly on the phone with customer support trying to fix simple issues. I just moved into a new apartment in DC and found out that the entire building uses Comcast I was immediately disappointed and knew that I was going to have issues. First, I paid for express shipping and didn't receive it for 5 days. I had to call 3 times to finally get it solved and each time there were no notes on the on the issue and each time they promised they shipped it and I never got it until the 3rd try. The representative told me to call back within the week to get my express shipping back and when I called they said they had no notes that it got there late and would not credit me. Then the BRAND NEW MODEM broke within less than a week. They wanted me to go to a store and get a new one and I said no I want it shipped. So, I got them to ship me a new one and said it would be there the next day. I called this morning to make sure it was on the way and the order wasn't in the system and it didn't go through. This is the SECOND ORDER in 2 weeks that did not go through......I had Optimum for 20 years and never experience poor service like I do with Comcast. If I had the choice I would switch immediately and I already have told my family NOT to get Comcast when they move because they will experience issue after issue. Modems break too often, customer service goes around in circles, no one can follow up on what was previously talked about or manage to complete and order correctly. read more

I've moved from LA some months back and had timewarner there. I thought as Comcast bought timewarner so they should be good. i had worse internet experienced in USA. My internet speed is never consistent, lot of spikes of up & down.Sometime all my VPN connection gets disconnected as there is so much packet lot while doing ping to any server. Call customer care twice they would let me do the usual troubleshoot but never acknowledge that its the fault between their routers outside.(found it from the ping trace). Some packets are gets 5 secs delay some comes fast. Overall I couldn't work from home or play any online games. Download stream doesn't get effect as it buffers when there low n high speed. So if possible get another connection. I wonder in Verizon FIOS would provide the service in this area or not. read more

I ordered Comcast cable and I have had the ABSOLUTE WORST experience with this company EVER!! It's not that the employees are rude or even incompetent it's the management infrastructure. Somebody high-level is doing a piss poor job of managing the customer experience. 1. Nobody has a direct line, NOBODY. Not billing, not technical support, NOBODY. By direct line I mean there is no way to call back the person who was helping you. Which also means there is no accountability. I've spoken to 6 people about getting my service hooked up, I have had the modem sitting in my living room for weeks I just need a technician to come and activate my cable line which is already installed by the way (I live in a condo). The problem is none of the 6 people I have spoken with bothered to follow up with me (I still have no service) and there is no way I can call any of them back and say hey 'Eddy' what happened....ect.? I have to start all over again with the same number I called the first time and listen to the stupid automated voice mail direct me to a new entry level operator. The ridiculous part is I've talked to the supervisor of the first level operator and she didn't have a direct line either (or email), so I asked to talk with her supervisor--guess what--same thing, the supervisor's supervisor didn't have a direct line! I mean come on Comcast, empower your employees...you're a telecommunications company and you cant give your own customer service representatives a phone #!!!!!!! That says it all right there folks. 2. They don't have email addresses either, again no accountability, no transparency. Who is running the show here? 3. They will only give you their first name, again same as #2 above. But be sure they want your first, last, social, and blood type before they will talk to you. 4. Nothing really needs to be said here; it's Comcast, so you know you're dealing with the worst of the worst. Took several tries to get my cable card working on a Tivo device. Had to return to the store and replace it - keep in mind they just recycle old, used cable cards so ask for a one that at least looks new. Nobody there has any idea what's going on or how their services work. Had to escalate to corporate to get a cable card firmware update so my Tivo could use all 6 tuners. Terrible HD TV selection, satellite has several more HD offerings, which is embarrassing considering Comcast could easily provide more. I will give them some credit for general Internet stability, which is a recent phenomenon, but is shadowed by their terrible net neutrality practices. You'll always get full bitrate from their speedtest site but never reach anywhere near your advertised speeds for any site you actually use on a daily basis. Overall, Comcast represents everything wrong with the world and it sickens me that there are no other choices for Internet in Alexandria. read more

Let me jump in with my 2-cents. Comcas'ts bait and switch "teaser rates" are standard operating procedures and I fallen for it twice now. I start out paying $130 for the bundle and as soon as the special is up, they double the price...until you threaten to cancel, then they sell you less service for more money than you originally agreed to. We had Comcast until we moved and never again voluntary sign-up for cable service with Comcast. Their lack of consistency impedes effort to offer great service and customer service. The billing increased almost yearly which was insane considering our townhouse had to be rewired twice. The first time the tech cut the lines to one of the bedrooms of course he denied he spent 4 hours at our townhouse. Also there really is no customer loyalty when ask for a better deal as the one you saw on TV ad they tell you that is for new customers only...really? No loyalty in keeping customers just gaining new ones. They proceeded to take double payments out of our checking accounts when you sign up for automatic pay refused to reimburse the money so when decline the automatic pay. Too many reps and too many places that know nothing about your location. My husband called one night and spoke to a rep in CA she told him to call back in the morning because his location would be open. What? Really? Worst internet and customer service I've ever dealt with. To start out, when I was preparing to move and looked into internet, I went online and found that the cheapest offer was for $29.99. I called and asked what the cheapest offer is, and the lady assured me that the cheapest internet i could get was 80 bucks and that it would be a waste to not add cable for only a small additional fee. She didn't even mention the cheapest offer, even though i specifically asked her what the least expensive internet offer was. When i moved into my new home, I called to get my internet set up ,and was told that in order to schedule a start up date, i needed to get on my email and digitally sign a contract. when i asked how i was spose to check my email before I had set up my internet the lady paused and then responded "Dont you have a smart phone?" You HAVE to pay 35 dollars for a comcast technician to come set up your service, (even if you have your own equipment), and this is something that ive always done myself with Cox. Oh and about 20 minutes after the technician left, my internet stopped working. I have problems with my internet on a regular basis, it will just randomly cut out and I wont have internet connection for several hours. The help line is very unhelpful. On one occasion I called because I had no connection. After walking me through all the steps I had already gone through, she assured me that my wireless router was dead and I needed to buy a new one from them (even though I had told her several times that i didn't have internet even when i plugged into the modem). She then told me to reset my modem by pushing a specific button, which didnt exist and after being on the phone for over a half hour she finally asked me what type of router I had. She hadnt even been trouble shooting for the right type of modem! If it asks you to leave your number and they'll call you back when a representative is available, dont bother. I've done this twice and have never gotten a call back. Basically, look into Cox Communications, or prepared to be disappointed with Comcast. read more

Opened tickets but no one has been able to resolve it. Poor customer service where reps/managers do not know who to contact and how to get things resolved while tickets keep sitting with going no where. Worst service I have ever received from any company. Signed up on-line and made an appointment for installation of basic cable and internet. No one ever showed. When I called they denied having any of my information in their system. I ordered the same service over the phone. They said they would install the service between 2 and 5 on a Sunday. Someone didn't show up until 7:30. I wasted my entire day waiting for these idiots. Finally I have my service installed. The free 6 months of HBO that was supposed to come with my service did not work and when I called and asked why they denied such a deal even though my neighbors who have the exact same package got HBO for free. The cable box has not worked several times and all that was displayed on the tv was that there was some type of upgrade. Well that "upgrade" took 2 weeks. I called about this also and they said I might have a faulty cable box and would have to have someone install another one. Tried to pay my bill on-line. First it was I didn't have the right email, then the wrong password, then the wrong answer to my security question which I know I was typing in the correct information. When I went to pay my bill over the phone they said it would cost $2 for automated payment and %6 if I spoke to someone and payed my bill that way. When all is said and done it was a complete waste of my time and money. I think they are a complete scam. Awful customer service. I will never use Comcast again. read more

Bad bad bad. I moved into a new community that has an exclusive contract with Comcast so I need to use them for internet. The install tech told me that I'm fortunate to have the newest equipment including head-ins and other cable-jargon. Internet is low and intermittent, hardly any high def channels, after 10 days of living here I received my first bill of $236 (install charges, fee for this, that and everything else). All calls to comcast include an automatic 20 minute hold-for-next-available-rep message. I really miss FIOS and Cox. read more

I switched from Verizon Fios to Xfinity as the FIOS service had become very expensive. I signed up for the Xfinity HD complete which includes 260+, 105Mbps internet and two phone lines. The installation went fine. My only problem was trying to get competent customer service on the phone. My international channel I ordered was not set up and I had no DVR. I had originally ordered one of the boxes with a DVR. From 6:30 pm until mid-night I was on the phone with Comcast customer service. I could not get single person on the line that knew what they were doing. I was transferred from one person to another with no results. The last person I spoke was able to help me. We discovered that none of the units had a DVR. The customer service person ordered one for me. Then also had an issue with an error popping up every time I tried to select the "Guide". This issue was resolved after resetting the cable boxes several times. It was a very time consuming and aggravating experience. Comcast really needs to train there staff better. This was a horrible experience dealing with their customer service. So far I have a very negative impression of the Xifnity Comcast customer service. read more

It goes down frequently, at random for no reason. Or it just slows to an interminable crawl that you can't even send an email. Then when you try to get support, all they tell you is to reset the modem. No kidding. The point is, I shouldn't have to reset my modem a few times a day. They don't seem to understand no matter how many times you tell them, that we're not calling about an isolated outage; we are calling about the fact that the service is completely unreliable, or if by some miracle it's actually working, it's working very slowly. My neighbors have the same complaint. What other kind of service that's this awful does anyone tolerate? Imagine if your electricity just regularly went off at random. Or your water. Only I was never told I was being given a promotional rate then after two months my rate was increased again. This company has no integrity or regards for their customers. I signed up for comcast $20 offer on august 2nd (Sunday), on the phone. the installation appointment was scheduled for Tuesday but i thought it was Thursday, so i missed it. later on Tuesday the 4th i called tech support and "Jared" set up my modem (my own) remotely. the internet worked great until Monday, when it started to only allow Comcast setup webpage. so i figured it's a typical comcast glitch and waited a day. i called tech support today (Wednesday) and my account simply disappeared. tech rep transferred me to sales and "alex" said my location was disconnected on Sunday the 2nd!
