NetBlazr is dead and was bought by Gigstreem in 2022 and are actively running it into the ground. Since their purchase my internet speed plummeted and I would regularly have the internet drop out. About a month ago my internet stopped working and stayed that way for a week straight. I called daily and was given the run around that it is a "server issue and will be fixed soon" but they could never tell me exactly when. I eventually talked to a technician who told me Gigstreem is actively trying to lose NetBlazr customers who were grandfathered into a lower price. That and they just don't care enough to pay for technicians to fix issues so anything that goes wrong takes weeks to fix. After a week of back and forth and no internet I cancelled my service and signed up with another company. The outage started at the start of July and I had paid for a full month of internet so I demanded a refund as the internet didn't work at all after I paid. I was told I would receive one but it never came. I called a dozen times over three weeks and was told "the finance team is working on it". Eventually I gave up and had to file a charge back with my credit card company. This internet provider is completely broken and doesn't care about you in any way. I hate to say it but even comcast is better and I really hate them. Stay far far away from this company. read more

Netblazr provided pretty good service for many years. They were bought by gig stream in 2022 and sadly their internet service has gone way downhill. Today their service was been down which is understandable since there was a storm. But when I call support the message says press 1 for a call back which I do and 8 hours later... no call. Their website has no status update at all. I call them again and I'm number 1 in the queue. An hour later, I'm still number 1 in the queue. It's understandable when the internet is broken after a bad storm but it seems that netblazr is broken too. read more

I was so happy to move into a building and have a local company for internet instead of awful Comcast. For may years, the service was great. Reliable & fast. And when there was an issue, I could talk to an engineer and often help them diagnose the problem. Now the company was bought by someone else and isn't local anymore. That's disappointing but the real issue is their support went from good to horrible, as in way worse than Comcast. When there was an outage recently, I had to wait 30 minutes to talk to "supoort" which was a person who barely spoke English and asked which router lights were on. They have no way to reach real tech support/engineers anymore nor do they have an online ticket system. I can't recommend them any more, but will update this review if they fix their support. read more

Netblazr was inconsistent but their customer service was at least good. Now Netblazr is Gigistream and they are both inconsistent and their customer service is terrible. When you have outages, which you will, you will not be able to reach technical support. Instead, you will reach a call center where someone will tell you they will pass along your message and no one will contact you. If you try to email, the response you get will be barely coherent. Totally agree with all the recent negative reviews. Netblazr was great and is now absolutely terrible under Gigstreem's ownership. The most recent outages occurred in February 2025 and July 2024. While that my seem infrequent enough, they were multiple days long. The handling of such issues is where Netblazr/Gigstreem demonstrates just how incompetent they are. When I initially called to report the outages, customer service was never aware of the them despite the issue impacting a broad area of Boston (note: call centers are outside the US - Mexico or Philippines). Some reps provided inaccurate, blatantly false information and I have had to ask to escalate to a customer service manager in order to get credible information. The most recent outage in Feb 2025 occurred on Friday afternoon (2/7) and was not resolved until Monday midday because they didn't have a technician available to troubleshoot over the weekend. Trying to get compensation for the inconvenience takes multiple, frustrating phone calls to customer service. I was promised a refund by a customer service manager, that's instead being applied as a credit to my mid-March bill, which is 1.5 months after the issue occurred (I've called and they refuse to issue an immediate credit to my credit car) - this means that I'm stuck with their service until April if I want to receive the compensation. Needless to say, I am switching to another provider as soon as that billing period is over. Bottomline: Look elsewhere - there are plenty of competitively priced internet providers available now. read more

I ask for a manager because didn't like the treatment "manager was in a meeting" at 8:30pm but will call back within the hour. Netblazr used to be fantastic. Prompt customer service, local company that would come to the building within an hour. Then it was acquired by Gigstreem. Service calls now go to a call center. The people at the call center read off script and have no useful information, and never call back with updates. 10 people in my building have not had internet for three days. I was told over the weekend that engineers were working on the portal, that the issue has been escalated, and that they probably will come to my building. Still no internet. I have been having internet issues since February, 2023 and have been calling them weekly for service and asking for a credit since I am paying for a service I am not receiving. Each time I call and ask to speak to a supervisor. The call center technician says the supervisor will call me within an hour or so. The supervisor never call back at all. Extremely poor service in the Medford area. Intermittent outages nearly daily, extreme bandwidth issues during the hours of 5pm-11pm (completely unusable internet, under 2mbps. Cannot stream any content or play any games). I have been a netBlazr customer for 2 years now, and although the service was great for the first few months, it has been an extreme struggle since then. The internet service declined rapidly, and the seemingly hundreds of support tickets I opened have gone no where. It is tough even getting a member of their support team on the phone as they often do not pick up and let it go to voicemail during normal hours, and rarely if ever pick up at night. The only reason I am still suffering through this service is due to my unwillingness to give money to Comcast, but I think I am at the complete end of my rope. I applaud Netblazr for not being Comcast, but that is about it. If NetBlazr is really "Boston's Highest-Rated Internet" I think Boston is in trouble. They've provided wireless to the condo where I live for several years, and the frequency and length of outages has been awful. Whenever there is a forecast of moderate to heavy rain and/or wind, I can pretty much count on losing service for the duration. At other times, it just randomly disappears. Well, at first, it seems really great, 300Mpbs up and down stream, until 2 months after starting the service, they began to throttle the down stream and I only get like 20Mbps of bandwidth. And upload still like a blaze for 150M, then the speed resumed about 11:30ish maybe off peak. I've reached out to the tech support team and they said made some changes but only lasts for couple of days then the throttling again. We use the internet for video streaming primarily and their service is not stable for our use. I'm really disappointed. Going back to the Comcast at least we have a fiber terminal in the apartment. Haven't had internet for two days; their customer support is completely absent. I'm on hold for 15 minutes and then a message comes on about an outage in Southwest, then a beep (I guess I'm supposed to leave a message?). Talked to someone at 8 am this morning said they were working on it. It's 6 pm, no update, nothing. Even when I DO have internet the speeds in my building are atrocious. They advertise this service as if it's fiber but it's not, it's beamed to an antenna on our roof; any slight inclement weather knocks my service out. And when it is working it's nowhere near advertised, 15-20 Mbps down and 7 Mbps up. We pay for 100-500 Mbps up AND down. And the latency is absurd, upwards of 3 seconds (!) occasionally. read more

Netblazer was fast, reliable, and economical. During this WFH time I did have some video delays, but it wasn't a deal breaker for all the perks and price. In my 2.5 years as a customer I lost service about 5 times, all during inclement weather. I'd recommend Netblazer to anyone- no contract, transparent billing, accurate speed based on the level I chose, and nice folks in the field doing installation. 4/5 for the challenges with call connectivity during this time however a 4.5 is more accurate. read more

It's been a year that I've had netBlazr now, and I am generally happy with having chosen them. I do feel that I am not gouged *as much* pricing-wise as much as Comcast. Do expect that your internet will completely shut down in bad weather (at a minimum, heavy rain will impede your service). That being said, my internet is fast, works for the number of devices I have (2 smart tv's, 2 laptops, 2 phones) and otherwise doesn't cause me issues. I'm so glad netBlazr serves my building because a) yay anyone but Comcast, but also b) netBlazr internet service, customer service, and prices are all really good. Internet service - see photo of speed test results (from a neutral 3rd party - none of the big ISPs' "well, if you use *our* speed test..." shenanigans). Also, I've had netBlazr for a month now and have not noticed any drop-off in service during peak traffic times. Customer service - I called on a Saturday and was able to schedule an installation for the very next Monday. Installation technician showed up right on time. The first time he showed up we actually couldn't finish the installation because the building concierge who had the key to the basement, but they came back the next day (also for free) and finished set-up smoothly. Another plus - I think netBlazr assigns specific people to work with each customer. After I signed the form requesting info for netBlazr one of their employees reached out with their direct contact info (including phone number). I was subsequently able to communicate directly with that employee each time - no more "please press 1 if...", and you get to work with someone who's already familiar with your situation. Price - netBlazr = $60/300 Mbps (in my building, speed can be higher or lower depending on building), no hidden/equipment/other fees Comcast = $55/75 Mbps, or $83/150 Mbps, plus "Equipment, installation, taxes and fees, and other applicable charges extra. Pricing subject to change." RCN = $40/155 Mbps, "prices exclude taxes, surcharges, fees and may exclude equipment." Not awful, but not netBlazr. In conclusion, I highly recommend netBlazr/brag about my internet service to my co-workers. I normally don't write a lot of reviews, but I think internet service in the US will improve only if more customers switched to independent ISPs like netBlazr. We first phoned customer service to find out about their product - no one came on the phone and we got an answering machine so we left a message. TWO DAYS LATER we get a call back from a representative who answered our questions. After that call, we phoned them a few days later to ask some other questions. Again answering machine and no response. Its been 3-4 days since we left our message. I am happy this happened before we signed up. I've tried so many internet providers in Boston. Verizon, when I lived in JP, were gruff, rude and expensive. Comcast wasn't excited to provide service to my current apartment without a landline and/or cable. I swapped to another 'net only company, but I might as well have regressed to dial up, my connection was throttled so often. Enter Netblazr, who were thorough in researching what they could provide to my apartment even before anyone came out. Their customers service is above and beyond expectations- they've emailed pointers regarding routers and were happy to recommend a few options when my old one gave up the ghost. TLDR: I do not recommend netBlazr. Terrible experience with their customer support staff. My netBlazr was installed in late June and I don't have access to the internet for at least 10 days. When I chased them, they told me they sent me an email to the wrong address or they called me but can't get through and thus the delay. I never get any of those calls. Their customer services keep telling me they see no problem on their end so I should have Internet, or it's probably my problem (I even spend a couple hundred bucks to buy the router they recommended)... And they just insisted on closing the support ticket. The customer services guy was blaming me for not trusting him when I told him I never got any calls. And to prove that he did call, he posted a call log that turns out to have the wrong number. Instead of apologizing for calling the wrong number, he's just like "thanks for letting us know, we will update your number"... Had like 20 email exchanges with this guy... lots of rage. They have another support staff Evan who was quite helpful. I know it's probably just that one guy, but still... After 5 days of internet (which was ok, occasional disconnections but tolerable), I lost my connection again. I really don't want to call their customer service team again.... Fantastic service! I got rid of Verizon DSL who has spotty infrastructure issues in downtown Boston recently. I found NetBlazr on Yelp and reached out via e-mail. This started a series of correspondence between a NetBlazr associate who now know by name (and vice versa). I brought NetBlazr to the building's management and the board of trustees. NetBlazr coordinated with the building for feasibility of service without much need for me to push things along. Next thing I know, we have a great consistent service provider in my condo. Speeds are consistent and fast. Symmetrical upload/download speeds (this is a residential plan mind you)! We are now enjoying 3 - 4 times the speed we used to get on Verizon DSL. No contract nor termination fees. Customer service is personal and efficient. Service provided surpasses expectations. I'd recommend switching. read more

When I first moved to Boston in August, I of course was searching around for an ISP, looking to avoid Comcast like the plague after (predictably) mediocre service. I stumbled across NetBlazr and gave Jim a call, and he came out shortly thereafter to install a non-intrusive antenna on my roof. After taking a few measurements to confirm I was within the coverage area, he stuck the thing on my chimney and went on his way; could not have been easier. Well, a few months into the service and I can say that it's worked flawlessly so far. The basic service offering has been more than adequate for my needs, and so far I haven't experienced any outages or disruptions. The price is completely reasonable for what you receive, the service has been rock solid, and getting in touch with the people at the company is easy. They even called me to see if everything is working! These are people in a small company who care about the quality of their service. From what I understand, they keep expanding their coverage area, too. I would say that you owe it to yourself to take a look at NetBlazr if you're in their coverage area, particularly if you're just looking for an inexpensive ISP without having to deal with asinine cable and phone bundling.
