Today I am free of Verizon! I suffered enough with the poor quality of Verizon. Multiple 90 minute phone calls with no results. A recent visit by a Verizon tech to my house, "All fixed. Found the short." NOT! Found netBlazr on Yelp. Had a flawless install today. Two highly skilled individuals worked together and completed the installation. They even cleaned up unneeded wires behind my sofa. All of the speed tests today have exceed 10mbps (some near 18!) With Verizon, I'd get under 3mbps. Plus they are $7/month cheaper. There are two other costs. You need to buy your router, I use an Apple Extreme. You need to pay $199 for install. All worth it because I AM FREE!!! read more

Basically, all of the other reviews are accurate, and as you can tell they are all fantastic. The speed is higher than advertised, I get 17up which is unheard of. Fios and RCN were unavailable in my area so I was forced to use Comcast. As everyone knows, they're just so incredibly difficult. I now have netblazr and I'm never looking back. I was on the brink of a meltdown when my internet stopped working in the middle of my finals week, so I called netBlazr and Lee sent Jerry to my apartment within 2 hours and the internet was back up and running within 3. I am so grateful for the support and the speedy timing. Jerry was especially great though. He had been to my apartment before to install my internet and to troubleshoot one other time and he remembered me! Great prices for what you get, but if you ever experience any issues - it better be between the hours of 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday, otherwise you're screwed for days. The don't work holidays, they don't work after business hours, and they don't work weekends. They say to leave a message and they'll call you back - giving you the impression that someone will call you back SOON - but you won't get a call back until actual business hours so you better not run into any internet problems on the weekend because no one will be there to help you. It's a really unfortunate business flaw of theirs, but people should be warned - you will get zero help from these people unless it happens during working business hours. Good luck!! read more

When I learned about netBlazr internet service, I was not sure if I really need to switch and drop Comcast service. I've been experiencing bad connectivity around the house, but I always tended to blame my wireless setup for this. I thought signal interference with other wifi setups in my building and concrete floors were to blame for my bad wifi experience. Even if speed tests would show decent download speeds, as advertised by Comcast, my audio and video calls suffered and people were not hearing well when the call was placed over wifi (skype, viber, web meetings, ​and even regular phone calls). I decided to sign in for netBlazr and investigate with their people what's going on with my setup. A company rep sent a technician to my house for the installation. It was the greatest experience with internet service installation I've ever had. The technician was well trained and knowledgeable. His name is Jerry. Jerry helped me not only to set the new service but also to investigate all the issues involved with my wifi performance. He identified the best location for my devices and helped me test the connection. You never get this from Comcast people. It's been one day since Jerry's visit, my internet works like never before. I still have Comcast service not canceled yet, so I did a real comparison of services and speeds. I used signal scanners to compare wifi signals around the house, so there is no joke here. Yes, it's truly amazing. We've been using it for 3 years, since we delightfully cut ties with Comcast (what a glorious phone call!). We have had zero issues with connectivity since we started. It was a bit of a hassle convincing our building that they should allow netBlazr to install the "antenna" (I think the word antenna scared them and they pictured a big, ugly thing). But we put our building manager in touch with the netBlazr team and they did a great job of alleviating any concerns about altering the exterior of the building. I don't have to give money to Comcast, I can support an innovative startup, AND I can stream netflix at night with no issues?! What's not to love?! read more

I just got the service installed today. I'm both blown away by the speeds (especially uploads) and elated that I can finally cancel my Comcast service and save well over $1000 Update: our service speed has degraded by over 70% on downloads and over 90% on uploads. It's been over a week and they still haven't been able to pinpoint the problem. It's extremely frustrating but still better than giving my money to Comcast Update 2: So now having the service for several months, I can say with much more experience that when it works, it works wonderfully well. It definitely has performance issues when the weather gets bad, but it's not that often....and wonderful to be out of Comcast's grasp! read more

Ok, this is going to be a bit of a read, but here it is. I'm giving 2 stars for the fact that they try, and aren't Comcast, but I'd encourage reading to understand what being their customer is like: I've been a Netblazr customer for years now, and have had fairly consistent connectivity issues throughout. I've contacted support dozens of times for periods where I have limited to no connectivity. More often than not, the connection is good (20 up/20 down) to great (40 up/40 down), however, typically at peak hours between 5:00pm and 11:00pm, or during storms, it goes to ~1 down/~5 up. Everyone I've spoken to has been nice, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm paying for a service I'm not getting. My most recent experience happened this week, and was been due to the regular drops at night. I've found our connection can handle one person actively streaming or playing games (not all the time, but most of the time), but once two devices are working simultaneously, the network can't handle it. I went back and forth with support, and they gave me a window to send a tech out today between 10:00 and 2:00. I wanted to verify a time, so I called at around 8:30am, and I was told they couldn't guarantee the window. I took a day off work to deal with this, and so did my neighbor with access to the dish on the roof so this was pretty upsetting. I explain this to the support rep and they say they'll talk to the engineers and get back to me by 9:30am. At 10:30am I call back to get an update and they say it's confirmed that the engineer will stop by between 12:00 and 2:00, I'm not sure why they didn't call to tell me. At 1:45 I call again and apparently they cancelled the appointment because they tested things on their end and didn't find anything wrong. No one bothered to tell me. What bothers me here is that I've done this with them dozens of times and they keep saying it's all ok and leave it at that, when on my end, as the consumer, it's clearly not ok. They're now attempting to monitor traffic for 72 hours to see the connection issue during peak hours, so hopefully I can amend this review with a little positivity. Nowhere in the process did I hear anything from anyone who seemed to care about the issue or how I was affected. I got a few "sorry, let me look into a credit" type of responses, but what I needed was a heartfelt "We understand and are committed to finding the problem and fixing it", then real progress or escalation. Anything to make me feel like a valuable customer when at the moment I feel like anything but. I was so excited to get out from underneath the Comcast shadow that I stuck with NetBlazr for years hoping it would become the service they promise. It never did, and over time, while the service improved slightly, the support got worse. If you want partially functioning internet and non-communicative support, or you just hate Comcast so much you don't mind the issues with their service, pick NetBlazr, otherwise, stay away. read more

After years and numerous problems with Comcast and Verizon for internet service it has been a relief to get reliable and affordable internet service with NetBlazr. The small, local business installs a rooftop satellite dish which does not require outside cable or telephone lines. My service has not had many disruptions but when there are problems they respond to phone calls with help and make in person service calls when needed. Comcast and Verizon have robotic telephone answering systems and chat lines which give the runaround where you are hard pressed to ever reach a real person who actually knows the technology and can diagnose the problem. Both Comcast and Verizon always lure you in with deceiving intro packages which expire and eventually lead to costly payments which require that you make add-on options with little benefit. After a big big storm I called and asked because connectivity was down, Netblazr sent a crew, called me when they were arriving soon, spent a few hours adjusting and testing the signal of the antenna to make sure it was working well. Good natured techs with no complaints about hauling their test gear up to the roof. I've tested the speed a number of times, using different methods, download is always great, as per usual everywhere, uploads just a bit lower. All is sufficient for my needs. After years of having just one option for internet (Comcast), on a whim I checked if Netblazr was now in my neighborhood (East Boston), and low and behold it was. I had been paying $100 a month for uneven internet service that generally would never clear 20Mbps despite being advertised as 50Mbps. The latter if I even got it was more than I ever needed, as a cord cutter who never had more than two devices streaming, if that. 15Mbps down/up is all I really need, and why pay $100 for that service when I could pay just $40? Keep in mind there *is* an install fee, but you're essentially paying $56.66 a month for the first year, so there is still a lot of savings to be had, and you're not paying for a modem or renting one from Comcast (for those who have or can't get rid of Comcast, do yourself a favor and get your own cable modem! They're charging you (I believe $7 a month for something that cost them $30!) This service may be better for owners if you jump from apartment to apartment, or if your landlord doesn't want a small dish placed on the roof. The setup: Contacted Netblazr 6/27, and had a tech on site for a survey shortly after, and had the install on 6/29. We had one minor hiccup with the install, that came to a head during the evening on July 4th, but I shot them an email regarding this and their customer service replied to me *20 minutes later* on a holiday, and they scheduled to have a tech on site the following day. The issue ended up resolving itself that night, however, but the tech still came and made sure that everything was in order up on my roof. Customer service was good about troubleshooting the connection remotely. The service: Paradoxically, that "faster" Comcast service was frequently having buffering issues when just watching Netflix or Hulu. That is inexcusable for the price and promise. With Netblazr, my "slower" service has never had such issues, and it's consistent: whenever I check the speed it's always ~15Mbps up/down. All in all it's been a very positive experience with Netblazr, and it was a great feeling walking into the local Comcast office to drop off the unused and unneeded cable box that Comcast insist I take so I would save me $5 a month off my service (but we all know the only reason they give this to cord-cutters is so they can potentially collect a $120 non-returned equipment fee on a box that they probably get for $50 wholesale). I am IT Director for a tech company in downtown Boston. We signed on with netBlazr for a low cost backup internet connection. We ended up using this service for some of our essential business processes that required an alternate path to the internet. NetBlazr performance has been consistently good, meeting or exceeding the bandwidth we are paying for. Outages have been few (and caused by major electrical outages in downtown, as opposed to problems with their equipment). Product: faster and more reliable internet than my previous ISP (Comcast) Price: competitive with the other ISPs I researched, especially given the speed Service: great on it's own but absolutely spectacular in comparison to Comcast. When they scheduled my install the tech called at 7:55 to say he was going to be "late" for an 8:00 appointment because he couldn't find parking. His version of late was at my door at 8:05. I once had Comcast give me a 4 hour window for my appointment and they never showed up. The netBlazr tech was tidy, fast, and walked me through the whole process. I had issues with my internet once and I got a live human in Boston on the phone immediately who helped me solve the problem over the course of a few calls/e-mails. Their monthly billing is automatic so I don't even have to remember to pay. Their excellent service is what makes me a customer willing to leave a yelp review for an ISP. UPDATE: Internet went out on a Sunday night, I e-mailed netBlazr and got an immediate response. Issue wasn't fully resolved so they followed up first thing Monday morning and it was fixed promptly. I have been with netblazer for almost a year and the service has been very good. I am so happy to be free of comcast and verizon the service could be crap and I would probably still be happy, seriously, netblazer has been great to deal with. The only thing holding them back is the lack of service area. In-fact, I had wanted to switch to them a couple of years ago and was unable because they weren't available in my neighborhood. I was so glad they finally expanded and were able to include my building (fortpoint) I'm on the 39.99 plan and while I 'd prefer it was closer to $25, I am so happy to have an alternative. I really wish the folks at netblazer the best of luck and really hope they don't get gobbled up by one of the huge conglomerates. read more

I've been through Comcast and Verizon, and Netblazr leaves them all in the dust in terms of reliable internet speed and customer service. they have an AMAZING customer service, where if there's any problems, they respond immediately or within a day if the office is closed. I've waited a year to see if anything changed before writing a review, but they continue to be consistently helpful and on top of everything. Netblazr was one of the internet/wifi choices my roommates and I could get in my new apartment. Unfamiliar with "netblazr", I first tried Verizon, but there were problems after problems. It was a never ending nightmare, to be honest. After attempt 3, I called off the my Verizon order, and called Netblazr. (I have not tried Comcast for obvious reasons.) Netblazr saved me. Service is quick, all the agents are kind and patient, the prices are great, and of course, the wifi is gloriously fast. It was..everything a college student would want. It's been around two weeks since we've had netblazr with no problems. Instead of going to Target and Starbucks every night, and suffering to get wifi, now we can finally stay in our apartment, and surf the web freely in comfort, in peace. Been using netBlazr at my office in the Back Bay for well over a year. Love the service, staff, speed, and reliability. Can't say enough good things about the product or the team! My office can only get really slow service from Verizon and has no service from Comcast - so I had no options for fast, reliable internet until netBlazr came onto the scene. I got a flyer on my door from neBazr during one of my three-visits-to-get-it-fixed Comcast loops. I have made the switch and turned off my Comcast cable today for good. Delighted to discover Netblazr and cut the Comcast cable. My high speed service has been up & running flawlessly for a couple of months now at much better than advertised speeds. HD & Audio streaming and VOIP all work perfectly. Installation was quick & professional. They went out of their way to keep the cabling unobtrusive and the antenna out of sight - we are a fussy condo in a fussy area. Internet down for the whole apartment building for 2 consecutive days now. No answer on email requests for update on restoration of services. Customer phone support not reachable. You will hang in a loop saying 'currently supporting other customers'. After waiting in the loop for 15 minutes it automatically disconnects. There is no way to reach services. read more

Have had to call in a few times, there is no 'escalation' process - having to deal with front-line folks who don't know anything, and walking through utterly useless scripts - like there is with everyone else. Every time I've called in, it's a been a zero-wait connection to a technical support staff who _truly understands_ their systems and networking in general and gives me the answer I need right away. So here is another update: 1 month later the problem persists. It wasn't until I downloaded an internet monitor and could actually prove that the internet was up and down and on and off on irregular intervals that they finally got serious. Then an actual point to point test was done. Basically if I wasn't on top of it nothing would have been done.I have been told several times that the problem has been solved and it has not. Everything is a priority except this. Meetings. other customers seem to always take priority. The tech came and installed some equipment and still the same problem persists. Every time they come and it doesn't get fixed it takes them at least two days to return. The effect is that the internet seems really slow loading or won't load at all and the connection is lost. It is crazy trying to work online with this. And the constant stalling as to why someone can't get here and actually fix the problem-UGH! This has been a problem since April. It happened quite infrequently in the beginning so it was really hard to catch and I only saw it while I was consistently online for at least a copule hours. It seems that it's not so much slow as it is disconnecting and it disconnects like 20 times an hour now. Sometimes it will be fine for a couple hours, sometimes I even loose emails. Now, they have been communicating, answering my questions and phone calls. But to have this go on for so long and then not seem to take priority is crazy making. It was nice for them to have given me a refund a month ago but I haven't had reliable internet for that long now so it's really just breaking even for me. Let's see if they actually come and fix it like they said they would today. HMM. Right now it is 8:30 in the morning. My service which is supposed to get up to 100mbps is clocking at 14/35mbps. It's been slow for perhaps two weeks but I finally clocked it. Support is not answering the phone so I left a message. I have had this service for a few months. Several times the service has been interrupted. Several times my Netflix and Hulu have not worked properly. Sling tv works especially bad even though I purchased a Roku device to make it work better. No one really is watching out for you here.(see update Below If I get particularly slow speeds there is no one checking. I am paying $59.99 to get $39.99 worth of service. My building gets up to 100mbps but the service has never gone that fast. The highest I clocked it at was like 30/91MBPS. Wifi is horrible! I'd say about 15/35 at best all the time. They were fast to get and set up my service. This is an old building and it took several hours. The service person did not really check my service properly-My router was bad and I had to replace it-not their fault but had they checked the service properly I wouldn't have had to dash out at the end of the day to get a new one or spent several hours dealing with service. He acted like all he wanted to do was to get out of here as fast as possible and had a bit of an attitude. UPDATE-Later in the Day: Lee, a very helpful person actually answered the phone when I called the main number. Has stuck with me all day and actually found and fixed the problem. Then he credited me for all the months I didn't get high speed AND an extra month credit for the trouble. WOOOOOW!! Trying getting that kind of service from Comcast...NOT!! A few weeks later the service completely stopped working and Nertblazr Could not fix the problem. I finally had to end the service. Some older buildings may have such old telephone wiring that the service will not work. Other people in my building were able to use this service. read more

NetBlazr is a great company, for a lot of reasons. I really hope they stay independent instead of getting bought-up by the local monopolies. They have a near-perfect score here on Yelp (one of the main factors which pushed me to finally cut the cords, jump Comcast's slave-ship, and seek an alternative.), and would argue they deserve it. TL;DR: ~8x the value of Comcast, 1/10th the frustration for Customer Service & Support ---------- 1) Speed -- It is faster. ~3.5x faster. I verify this with an scheduled script which logs speeds every hour. 2) Price -- I pay $59 with NB, paid $100 with Comcast. (monthly) 3) Integrity -- the speeds they advertise are the ones they deliver on. I keep a log of my internet speed hourly, and the speed almost never deviates from the 300mbps they promise. Comcast, in my experience, advertised 300mbps, but I tested for an average of 80mbps. How can comcast do this? Because it has its phone-reps say "well those are only _up to_ speeds, not averages". Just the relative honesty of NB would be enough to make me a committed customer, even if it were half the actual speed. But it isn't; it tends to be over 3x the speed. 4) Customer Support -- It is personable, proactive, quick, and frustration-free. The supports are all nice, straight-forward, and accountable. (For both Subscription/Installation, and maintenance technical support) My most recent experience with them was to resolve an outage of my internet connection. I have had outages with Comcast before, and they all turned into chronicles where I'm constantly being gaslighted by phone-reps, and made to pay for visits that didn't even happen, for issues that weren't mine in the first place. With NB, I remember all the people's names, just because they were so darn polite. Perry, Rosalind, & Lee. And Javier with whom I didn't speak, but I could hear talking with Perry to manually re-provision the faulty-config'd switch remotely. Now, the person first couldn't resolve it initially, but when I called back to check on status, I was handed-off to "someone who could definitely help" -- a well-mannered & attentive man named Brough Turner. He just gave me his name & phone number so I wouldn't feel like I was being bounced, and then the issue was resolved within an hour. I looked up the company after, and turns out, it was the Founder & CTO of the company! ---------- Anyways, if you're considering the switch, I insist, "jump". I took the time for the review because, one, I feel I owe it to the people who helped me, and two, because I hope to never have to switch back to Comcast again, and I need NB to expand across the city in order for that to be a guarantee. read more
