We have had cable since the company was called Jefferson Cable, and through all of the name changes of Adelphia, Comcast, and now Xfinity. Next month they will probably change it again...
Xfinity informed us that they needed to upgrade service, and would send a tech out. Andre Reed was very prompt, courteous and polite, and did everything that he could. After much testing, it was determined that the underground line to our home needed to be replaced. He started a ticket to order the installation.
At that time, I asked him about being sure that all other underground cables, lines and conduits and pipes would not be disturbed. He assured me with all confidence they would be located and marked.
Fast forward several days. While I was out of town, the cable was installed, hopefully correctly. The installation CUT the Invisible Fence line, thereby breaking the perimeter that contains my dog. Now, if I let the dog out and she SHOULD go off of the property, and create an issue, then it is my responsibility as I would be liable.
I have called XFINITY THREE times today, each time having to go through automated hell to get to a human being. On each occasion I have had to explain in detail why I am calling. They have tried to schedule a technician to come out, and I tell them the tech did not know where the line was the first time, or they would not have cut it to begin with.
I have been promised a return call three times. That has not happened. I did get an offer of "escalation" and that someone would call me back at the end of three days to begin to investigate the claim.
I suppose I am supposed to just keep our dog inside due to their mistake? I do not perceive this as close to any Customer Service, to fix a mistake of their own making no. I do realize mistakes happen but step up to the plate and take responsibility for them. Don't lie to me about someone calling me back THREE times. That must be the standard response in their Customer "no service" playbook..
